Chapter 922: Catching People at the Bar
The night on Minshan Road belongs to the world of music and alcohol.
Neon lights blur and bleed across the wet ground, staining the entire street in an ambiguous haze.
Bass from every bar surges out through the door cracks, thumping against people's chests again and again, causing heartbeats to lose their rhythm.
When He Yuzhu pushes open the heavy iron door of the bar, a turbid wave mixed with the scents of perfume, sweat, and tobacco rushes to meet him.
He frowns, thinking this place is truly massive—the main hall has at least two or three hundred tables, each piled with beer bottles like small mountains.
The dance floor is packed with moving heads; young bodies sway mechanically to the beat of the music, heads bobbing up and down. From a distance, it looks like a wheat field swept by a gale, falling uniformly to one side and then the other.
He Yuzhu weaves through the crowd.
No matter how young his face may look, he already looks like a man of forty; compared to the twenty-something faces around him, he always seems a bit out of place.
A few girls in heavy makeup dance past him, back and forth. Amidst the fluttering of their short skirts, their eyes clearly say: "Can the old uncle's waist handle it? Don't go throwing it out."
He Yuzhu pays them no mind. Every now and then, he seizes an opportunity to perform a move or two, either a backflip or a cartwheel.
And it must be said, once these two flashy moves are revealed, they truly stun the people around him.
The girls' screams rise one after another, like ignited fireworks.
Taking advantage of the crowd's distracted attention, He Yuzhu quietly activates his Space Scanning Function to search for his targets among the throng.
It's just that while this function works quite well usually, once in a place as crowded as this, the signal seems to be drowned in the sea of people, working intermittently.
After finishing his dance, he withdraws from the main hall and heads toward the back.
The front of the bar is the main hall, while the back is where the wealthy play—a long corridor with private rooms on both sides, offering services not found in the front hall.
He Yuzhu has a premonition that if that group of spies hasn't left yet, they are likely hiding back here.
Passing through a long corridor, the lights dim, turning into an ambiguous dark red.
Scantily clad hostesses stand in twos and threes in the corridor; seeing a man pass by, they press themselves against him.
The doors to the private rooms are tightly shut, but the sounds inside leak out intensely; the wailing, ghost-like singing and the girls' coquettish laughter mix together, seeping through the door cracks.
Just as He Yuzhu is about to walk inside, a large, fan-like hand blocks his path.
"Sir, this is the member's area. Do you have a VIP card?" The Bodyguard stands there like half a steel tower, his face devoid of any expression, as if wearing an iron mask.
He Yuzhu smiles, trying to keep his tone casual: "I'm looking for a few people; they called and invited me here. There are five of them in total, one is a big bald guy, and another is short with a handlebar mustache..." He describes the appearance of those men in detail.
The security guard stiffens his neck, not listening to him finish at all, and interrupts directly: "Don't you have a phone? Just make a call and have them come out to get you, that's all."
"It's so noisy in here, I can't hear anything even if I call." He Yuzhu gets a bit impatient. "I'm asking you where they are; you won't say, and you won't let me go in to find them. Fine, go call your Manager."
"The Manager isn't here." The Bodyguard steps forward, his attitude even tougher. "How come so many coincidences happen to you? I think you're just here to steal things. Let me tell you, even if the Emperor himself came today, you aren't getting in without a card."
He Yuzhu sighs. This security guard is incredibly stubborn, and he doesn't want to waste any more time.
He strikes like lightning, chopping the side of the Bodyguard's neck with one palm.
The tower-like body goes limp instantly, and with a thought, He Yuzhu pulls the man into his space.
"Stubborn." He smiles and walks inside.
Deep in the corridor, the system prompt finally sounds in his mind: "Target suspect is in Private Room No. 9."
He Yuzhu feels a surge of heat; he bet on it correctly! This group really hasn't left yet.
However, these people are cautious enough; not only did they occupy Private Room No. 9, but they also booked the two rooms next door, having their bodyguards keep the doors open to drink and act as lookouts.
Moreover, this passageway is busy with people coming and going, and those five are veteran spies; once they see a stranger enter, they will surely take action.
Their private room faces the corridor. They can see everything happening in the corridor through the observation hole of the room.
He Yuzhu dares not be careless. He ponders for a moment and decides to disguise himself as a waiter to trick them into opening the door.
A guest from a distant private room has just left, and He Yuzhu seizes the opportunity to slip inside.
He knows that in a busy bar like this, someone will come to clean up soon.
Sure enough, not long after hiding in the shadows, a waiter pushes the door open and enters.
The young man sees the fruit platter on the table hasn't been touched, beams with joy, picks up a lychee, starts peeling it, and stuffs it into his mouth.
He Yuzhu originally wanted to act immediately, but seeing him eating happily, he gives him an extra half-minute. Only after he finishes eating a few lychees does he strike him unconscious from behind with one palm, and in a flash, changes into his uniform.
He combines the contents of the two fruit platters, rearranges them beautifully, picks them up, and heads straight for Private Room No. 9.
Before he even reaches the door, a bodyguard walks out of Private Room No. 8 and waves at him: "Give the fruit platter to me, I'll take it in."
He Yuzhu glances left and right; there is no one in the corridor, so without a word, he pulls the bodyguard into his space as well.
Immediately after, he knocks on the door of Private Room No. 9.
After knocking for nearly half a minute, the door creaks open a crack.
A burly, bald man sticks half his body out, looking him up and down with drunken, bleary eyes: "Do you know the rules? No outsiders allowed in this room—hey, how come you're an old uncle?" The bald man sobers up more than halfway, a flash of alertness appearing in his eyes.
He Yuzhu keeps his expression unchanged: "The Manager is a distant relative of mine; he relaxed the age limit for me."
The bald man lets out an "Oh," chuckles, and his tone loosens slightly: "This Manager is no good either. It would be better to make you a deputy manager; at your age, still serving platters, isn't that embarrassing for him?"
He Yuzhu doesn't respond, but his eyes peer over the bald man's shoulder into the private room.
The bald man suddenly gets angry, raises his hand, and swipes at the fruit platter in his hand, cursing: "Old thing, you dare bring fruit that's already been eaten in here?"
He Yuzhu dodges lightly, and the fruit platter doesn't move a bit in his hand.
But in that split second of dodging, his gaze has already seen everything in the room.
The spotlights flash frantically, the music makes the walls tremble, five girls are dancing wildly around the coffee table, short skirts spinning, and their pale legs make one's eyes dizzy.
Among the men, two have already taken off their shirts, hugging the girls' waists as they collapse onto the sofa, beer bottles rolling all over the floor.
"What are you looking at!"
Seeing him still staring inside, the bald man swings his fan-like palm down toward his head.
He Yuzhu tilts his head, transfers the fruit platter to his left hand, and with his right hand, strikes the bald man's neck like lightning.
The bald man doesn't even have time to make a sound before his eyes roll back and he goes limp.
The remaining four people in the room react extremely quickly; seeing the situation is wrong, they all reach into their shirts for their guns.
He Yuzhu thought to himself that it was bad; he originally had not wanted to take the few attendant women into his space.
At this moment, the situation was critical, and he could not care about so much; with a sudden shift of his intent, everyone in the entire private room was taken by him into his space.
Just at this moment, the Bodyguard from the next-door private room suddenly rushed out and pounded hard on the door of the private room.
He Yuzhu wondered where the problem had arisen; they should not have heard the sound of him making a move!
