Chapter 18: What good are your tears! Can they protect Luo Li!
The next morning, in Wu Xian’s private room.
As mentioned earlier, the Master God grants each Lunhuizhe a free opportunity to customize their room’s layout.
In other words, as long as you have the guts, it’s no problem to create a luxury villa, an imperial palace, or even a lunar base.
Of course, creating an area the size of an entire planet is impossible for free—you must pay extra.
As for Wu Xian, he created a vast seaside mansion, each floor exceeding 1,000 square meters, resembling Tony Stark’s coastal residence in the Marvel universe.
Inside were high-end facilities and smart furniture found only in sci-fi films, leaving the Zhongzhou Team, who lived in 2007, awestruck—like Liu Laolao entering Grand View Garden.
Outside the seaside mansion stretched an even larger beach and an endless ocean… One could imagine living here meant daily views of breathtaking sunrises and sunsets.
Add dozens or hundreds of beautiful girls in bikinis, and this place would be paradise for any man.
Yet right now, on this dreamlike beach, thunderous roars and pig-like wails echoed.
“Don’t come any closer, aaaaaaah————!!!!”
Amidst swirling dust, Zheng Zha’s figure shot forward like a cheetah, so fast he left afterimages in midair— Kongzhongfeiren and hurdle champions were nothing compared to him.
Yet Zheng Zha kept accelerating, as if something terrifying chased him from behind.
In fact, it was exactly that…
With a roar, a black Jeep surged forward, somehow modified to glide across the sand as if it were solid ground.
As the engine roared louder, its speed surged higher—it was about to catch Zheng Zha and crush him under its wheels.
“Don’t cry! Don’t beg! Face reality!”
Wu Xian held the steering wheel with his left hand and a speaker with his right, his voice brimming with unmistakable amusement and joy.
“What good are your tears? Can they protect Luo Li? What use is your wailing? Will the villain in a horror film spare us because you cry?”
“Remember! This is what a Lunhuizhe must endure!
It has nothing to do with whether you have power—the cruel reality is always chasing you. Since you lack the strength to overcome it, you can only run! Run until you gain enough power!”
“I understand the Daoli !”
Running, Zheng Zha’s face flushed red. Hearing the last words, he finally roared to the sky.
“But what does this have to do with you running me over with a Jeep?! Stop right now, aaaaah!!!”
“Huh? Still got energy to talk? Looks like you haven’t reached your limit… Get ready, I’m accelerating!”
Wu Xian narrowed his eyes and pressed the accelerator further down.
“Noooooo!!!!”
“Hehehehe—”
…
“I mean, Captain, you really don’t know Zheng Da in the real world, right? I feel like they’re sworn enemies.”
Inside the seaside mansion, the other three members of the Zhongzhou Team watched Zheng Zha being chased by the Jeep through the glass, their foreheads lined with black sweat. Li Xiaoyi couldn’t help muttering, instantly earning nods of agreement from the other two.
There was no way they believed this Jeep’s intent to kill wasn’t fueled by deep hatred.
“Mr. Li, Mr. Mou, Miss Zhan Lan, your breakfast is ready. Please proceed to the dining room.”
At that moment, a crisp, pleasant yet unnervingly flat voice echoed in their ears—they turned to see a translucent girl’s phantom standing gracefully nearby, smiling and nodding at them.
If Alice and Ma Xiu from Resident Evil were here, they’d be stunned—the girl’s silhouette, facial features, tone of voice, and very existence matched the Umbrella Corporation’s super AI, Red Queen, down to the smallest detail, save for being slightly older.
Earlier, during the laser corridor standoff, Wu Xian had threatened to detonate bombs, forcing Red Queen to obey all his commands—including copying a backup of her core code for him.
After returning to the Master God’s space, Wu Xian took the ultra-high-capacity USB drive containing Red Queen’s code, used reward points and sub-plot quests to upgrade and modify it slightly, then purchased a special contract from the Master God to bind it permanently, establishing a master-servant relationship.
Of course, this contract still had loopholes—but Red Queen, being a technological product, understood nothing of the mystical arts—not even a fraction.
Thus, for a very long time to come, Red Queen could never betray him, allowing Wu Xian to safely upload her to his room’s personal terminal, making her a sort of intelligent butler.
Currently, she was still undergoing final testing; once confirmed stable, Wu Xian could bring her into horror worlds as a full Juqing task assistant.
At the very least, information and intelligence gathering would become far easier, saving considerable time.
By the way, Wu Xian had a wicked sense of humor—he renamed Red Queen “Friday,” the name of Iron Man’s new AI in Avengers: Age of Ultron.
If the Master God ever drops them into a world after Avengers: Age of Ultron, maybe they could even challenge Iron Man to see whose AI is more advanced.
Back to the matter at hand!
Half an hour later, under Friday’s attentive service, the three finished a delicious breakfast prepared by smart home robots, then sat in the living room, nervously waiting.
Yesterday afternoon, Wu Xian had conducted special training with Zheng Zha for certain reasons, but he hadn’t forgotten to remind the three to complete their enhancements at the Master God.
The base reward of 1,000 points: first, 600 points were evenly distributed across the six attributes, each increasing by 10 points; the remaining 400 points were all invested into muscle strength and neural reaction speed.
Now, purely by stats, they far surpassed ordinary people—even Olympic champions couldn’t match them.
Starting today, they would begin real training. Initially, they’d felt nervous yet eager—but seeing the scene outside on the beach, their eagerness vanished instantly, replaced by pure tension and a touch of terror.
Want to run, but dare not. Constantly conflicted.JPG
After enduring two hours of waiting, Wu Xian finally appeared before them—alongside him, a much fatter Zheng Zha.
He lay sprawled on the floor, twitching like a dead fish, barely breathing, as if he might die at any moment.
“Sorry to keep you waiting.”
Wu Xian looked at the trembling trio, slowly grinning, revealing a chilling smile.
“Now, it’s your turn for training. Don’t worry—you’re not like Zheng Zha. I’ll be very gentle…”
“Gulps—x3”
