Chapter 24: One Below and First Entry into Alien (Seek Follows! Seek Collection!)

~7 min read 1,379 words

Cold, but not trembling.

After waking from a half-sleep state, Wu Xian sat up smoothly from the metal floor, raised his hand to yawn, looking as if he hadn’t slept enough.

Yet the truth was exactly the opposite.

Over the past few days, Wu Xian’s sleep quality had been excellent—he woke naturally almost every day, even neglecting the Zhongzhou Team’s training, nearly making Zheng Zha and the others weep with joy.

His purpose was simple: to wait in the mysterious space for new arrivals, desperately hoping one would be a supreme big shot so he could immediately become their subordinate.

Whether or not he’d heard his own thoughts, a new arrival truly appeared in the mysterious space last night.

But unfortunately, the newcomer wasn’t any big shot—just a stinking salted fish trying to cling to his leg.

The new Wu Xian came from the “One Below” world; it sounded decent enough, but the problem was his timeline was too early—he had been transported directly to the Republican era before the Jia Shen Uprising.

Like Wu Xians from other worlds, this One Below Wu Xian began life in an orphanage.

Yet in that era, an orphan with no parents had an impossibly hard time simply surviving.

One misstep could mean starving to death on the street, then being carved up and eaten by other starving beggars, their bones boiled into soup.

Fortunately, One Below Wu Xian’s luck wasn’t too bad—his exceptional innate talent caught the eye of Zuo Ruotong, the Great Immortal of Daying, who took him back to the San Yi Sect.

What followed needed no elaboration: after a series of trials, One Below Wu Xian successfully became Zuo Ruotong’s disciple and was granted the cultivation method [Reverse Life Threefold].

By the way, Lu Jin had already entered the sect two years earlier; timing-wise, the “Unsoiled” Immortal should have already broken with Zuo Ruotong and taken Guishou Wang of Quanxing as his master.

Perhaps that was why Zuo Ruotong had left on a long journey—only then could he encounter Wu Xian on his return.

Truly, the word “fate” is marvelously inexplicable.

Of course, none of this was the point—the point was that One Below Wu Xian, still young and only at Reverse Life First Layer, possessed strength that added nothing meaningful to the other Wu Xians; it was essentially negligible.

Instead, he himself had instantly absorbed the attribute bonuses from three Wu Xians, causing his life force and cultivation to leap dramatically.

He estimated that after waking, just a few days of casual practice would let him break through to Reverse Life Second Layer—this thrilled him immensely.

“Indeed, those who freeload are forever freeloaders… no, wait—this is family business; how could it be called freeload? It’s clearly the result of my own hard work!”

He muttered a feeble excuse, then focused his mind: first he glanced at the metal plaque now in his hand, then turned his attention to his surroundings.

As described in the original, the room he was in was entirely made of some strange metal, surrounded by incomprehensible instruments—clearly inside the spaceship from “Alien 1.”

At the same time, beside him lay several sprawled figures; scanning with his spiritual force, he found ten others besides the four Zhongzhou Team members.

Adding himself, the team leader, made fifteen total—exactly as in the original.

Still a fifteen-person difficulty? But that shouldn’t be…

Thinking this, Wu Xian glanced at the information on his Master God wristwatch, then his pupils shrank sharply—he froze completely.

——[Main Quest: Pilot the Nostromo back to Earth, and before that, eliminate all Aliens aboard the ship. All members receive one B-rank side quest plotline and 5,000 reward points. Failure: deduct 7,000 reward points.]

——[If a Lunhuizhe ’s score is negative upon completion of the main quest… ERASED!]

The change in the main quest’s content was entirely within Wu Xian’s expectations.

After all, in the last Biohazard arc he’d farmed points aggressively, and now every full member of the Zhongzhou Team had at least one C-rank enhancement, plus himself and Zheng Zha had both unlocked second-tier or higher gene locks—increasing the horror movie’s difficulty was only natural.

But the reward for completing this quest… was it too extravagant?

Not only had the reward points quintupled, but the side quest plotlines had jumped from everyone getting D-rank to everyone getting B-rank… Was “Alien 1” really this hard? This already surpassed “The Grudge”!

After all, in “The Grudge,” a group shared one B-rank—here, everyone got one. There was no comparison.

Wu Xian’s lips twitched slightly—he suddenly couldn’t bear to imagine what kind of rewritten plot awaited him.

It couldn’t possibly… be hundreds or even thousands of Aliens surrounding them, could it?

As he thought this, the other Zhongzhou Team members began waking up one by one.

All of them now wore D5-series vibranium armor modified by the Master God—smooth lines perfectly fitted to their bodies, radiating a cold metallic aura, giving them the look of future warriors.

Wu Xian was the exception—he wore the Black God Suit, not a future warrior, but a future god of war.

“Captain…”

Zheng Zha was the first to rise from the floor, shook his head, then saw the dense crowd of sprawled figures—his expression froze, then turned grim.

“Th-there are too many people! According to you, the more people, the more dangerous the horror movie—Master God is trying to kill us! Oh wait! What’s the main quest this time? Holy shit! Five thousand points and a B-rank side quest for everyone? Is Master God insane?”

Hearing such a generous reward, Zhan Lan and the other three turned pale—not with joy, but shock, already imagining themselves surrounded by a sea of Aliens.

The scene was too beautiful—it was horrifying!

“Calm down. Don’t panic.”

Wu Xian released his spiritual force to soothe them, speaking calmly: “Remember what I told you? Master God never issues a mission that’s certain death. If it’s sending out this many people, it believes we can survive this horror movie.

All we need to do is give our all to ensure everyone returns alive to the Master God space… though, for now, ‘everyone’ doesn’t include those lying on the floor.”

The four Zhongzhou Team members nodded—even Zheng Zha, the bleeding-heart, said nothing. Clearly, Wu Xian’s careful (and harsh) training had changed him—he now understood not to waste sympathy indiscriminately.

Care for newbies? Save fellow humans?

Sorry—we’re not familiar. We reject moral blackmail. Simply holding to conscience and principles, avoiding easy abandonment, is already quite good enough.

Of course, if you want more attention from veterans, that’s possible—but you must show clear, standout value.

Otherwise, you’re on your own—survive by luck and return to the Master God space. When you do, you can join the Zhongzhou Team.

“Alright, let these newbies wake up first, then explain the Master God space to them…”

As he spoke, Wu Xian carefully studied the ten figures on the floor.

Classic white-collar men and women, a middle-aged man with a briefcase, three suspected members of the “Love-Death” gang…

But they didn’t matter. Unless Master God had slipped in another promising newbie among them, they’d all be dead meat within three chapters.

The only thing Wu Xian regretted was not seeing the suspected “Bawang,” the Russian giant.

Whether due to the butterfly effect, or Master God deciding Mu Gang now had the qualifications to replace him—or both.

Thinking this, Wu Xian turned his gaze to the three he truly cared about.

First was a slender black-clad man; yet according to spiritual force feedback, his physical condition was far from ordinary.

Wu Xian could sense the man was already awakening—his muscles tensed unconsciously, his heartbeat noticeably accelerated.

Clearly, he was someone who’d undergone brutal training in reality—excellent among ordinary people, either a special forces soldier or a top-tier assassin.

And based on the original novel’s plot, he was almost certainly the severely orthopedic… no, the most reliable man of the Zhongzhou Team—Zero Point.
