Chapter 49: One Against Many

~7 min read 1,270 words

Marcus froze completely, looking at Chu Yang with an expression of disbelief. "You're only a first-year student. Where did you learn that spell?"

"Isn't it all written in the books?" Chu Yang sneered. "Besides the Disarming Charm, I also know the Full Body-Bind Curse you mentioned earlier."

Marcus realized something was terribly wrong and hurriedly shouted, "Stop him!"

Harper was the first to draw his wand, preparing to cast a spell at Chu Yang. However, the moment he pulled his wand from his robes, a flash of light struck it with pinpoint accuracy! Another wand went flying! "How is your casting speed so fast? Even fifth-year students don't have this kind of speed!" Harper screamed in a panic, quickly drawing the attention of the older students nearby.

Some of them stood by and watched.

Others chose to help Harper and Marcus immediately.

If word got out that the two of them had been disarmed by a first-year, the reputation of the upperclassmen would be ruined!

And disarmed by a non-pure-blood wizard at that!

The older students who had been watching the show drew their wands one after another, all preparing to cast Disarming Charms to attack Chu Yang.

However, something hair-raising happened... no matter who was present, as long as they had the intention to make a move, Chu Yang's Disarming Charm would descend within a second, hitting their wands with precision, without exception.

At this moment, it was as if Chu Yang could predict the future! In just twenty seconds, a pile of wands had gathered on the floor of the common room! "That first-year actually cast the Disarming Charm over a dozen times in such a short period; even adult wizards couldn't have such vast magical power!"

"His spellcasting speed is even faster than wizards who have passed their O. W. L. exams!"

Exclamations erupted from the crowd. They had wanted to see that non-pure-blood wizard make a fool of himself, but instead, they witnessed a scene that overturned their understanding.

As the instigators, Marcus and Harper were now regretting it so much their guts were turning green!

"I said, besides the Disarming Charm, I also know the incantation for the Full Body-Bind Curse." Chu Yang revealed a devilish smile. He didn't intend to let these people off so easily; this wasn't the result he wanted.

Chu Yang was a person who feared trouble, and he hated those cockroach-like enemies, so it was best to hurt them enough to solve the problem once and for all.

Hearing the words "Full Body-Bind Curse," the older students who had intended to attack Chu Yang all panicked!

"Run!"

Marcus shouted, then turned and ran toward the exit of the common room.

Seeing this, the others immediately followed. In their panic, they knocked over many decorations, and the once-elegant hall suddenly looked like a chicken coop.

However, no matter how fast they ran, they couldn't outrun the wand in Chu Yang's hand.

After several flashes of light, the older students, led by Marcus, froze in place, unable to move, with only their eyes able to blink slightly.

"Aren't you seniors going to class?" Chu Yang looked indifferently at the remaining onlookers and gave a warning reminder. "If you're late, our house will lose points again."

The cold words fell into their hearts like winter frost. The "seniors" dared not linger and rushed toward the exit.

This freshman, who was as strong as a monster, was clearly not someone they could deal with. If they didn't run now, were they going to stay and become statues? A moment later, the Slytherin common room was left with only a group of boys who looked like sculptures.

"I just want to study magic quietly, why is it so hard?" Chu Yang sighed, shaking his head helplessly. "No matter how you look at it, it should be the fault of that old man Dumbledore..."

For the sake of the secret knowledge in the Restricted Section of the library, no matter what arrangements Dumbledore had for him, Chu Yang had no choice but to bite the bullet and accept it! Chu Yang grumbled while stepping over the wands they had dropped on his way out.

*Crack! Crack! * Hearing the sound, Marcus and the others immediately showed expressions of heartache. Chu Yang's back left a deep enough shadow on them at this moment. Slytherin had students missing breakfast in the Great Hall again.

Only this time, it had changed from freshmen to upperclassmen.

Snape felt a faint sense of unease, but didn't think much of it, returning to the Potions classroom as usual to prepare for teaching.

However, what followed confirmed his premonition.

More students were absent from class, and they were Slytherins again. After class, Snape left the classroom with a gloomy face!

Just as the morning classes ended, Chu Yang was called to the Headmaster's office by Dumbledore again.

And a grim-faced Snape had also been waiting there for a long time.

As soon as the two met in the Headmaster's office, the air immediately became thick with gunpowder.

"Mr. Chu Yang, can you tell me whether you are taking revenge on those students, or on me?"

It was only the third day of school, and Slytherin had another incident of mass absenteeism! And the culprit was that Chu Yang! Snape's face was livid, trembling with anger, his voice as cold as if it had been thawed from an ice cellar. "Since I became the Head of Slytherin House, such a thing has never happened before."

Chu Yang stared at Snape's slightly reddened pupils and said sincerely, "I am very sorry, Professor Snape. I also want to live every day quietly, but the environment doesn't allow it. Perhaps you should talk to Headmaster Dumbledore; letting me transfer houses would be more practical."

Snape snorted coldly. He knew very well that Chu Yang had been specifically arranged to be in Slytherin by Dumbledore, and he understood Dumbledore's intentions to some extent.

Don't look at how Dumbledore would warn Chu Yang; in fact, he was happy to see Chu Yang teach those overly arrogant Slytherin students a lesson.

Besides, there was no such thing as transferring houses in Hogwarts' traditions. Once the Sorting Hat completed the sorting, that was a lifelong matter.

"Mr. Chu Yang, transferring houses is impossible. Hogwarts has never had such a precedent."

Dumbledore first corrected Chu Yang's attitude, then said to Snape, "Although Chu Yang used the Full Body-Bind Curse on those students, we also understand that it was those upperclassmen who struck first."

"Professor Snape, I think Slytherin needs to strengthen its quality education. A group of upperclassmen bullying a freshman is not a glorious thing!"

The veins on Snape's neck were about to pop out from anger. He suddenly remembered what he had said to Chu Yang in Potions class not long ago, and didn't expect the other party to slap his face with strength so quickly.

Very loudly!

It was estimated that every grade in the entire house had heard it!

Dumbledore adjusted his glasses and said in a deep voice, "The Full Body-Bind Curse is not a very harmful spell either. Let this matter end here. If those students have any opinions, you can tell them to come to me. I don't think anyone would have the nerve."

Looking at the whole incident, the key point was still that those upperclassmen struck first.

Therefore, no one could blame Chu Yang for his act of self-defense.

Snape could only swallow the result of being slapped in the face by Chu Yang and left in a hurry.
