Chapter 204: Three-Body: We Care About Itachi, Rojie: I Don

~6 min read 1,014 words

The Three-Body Prime Minister’s expression remained calm, his voice devoid of any ripple: “Have the Sophia probe recollect his genetic data.”

The Science Administrator staggered forward half a step, then shook his head, his face filled with despair.

“His body is unscientific.”

“According to our research, his first-generation super-gene was merely basic gene enhancement, granting biological organisms far superior physical attributes compared to their kind.”

“His second-generation super-gene, built upon gene enhancement, created a gene engine that grants even greater power, even enabling interference with matter.”

“The defining feature of the gene engine within him is a pair of wings, similar to those of angels in Earth’s mythological legends.”

“But our research long ago confirmed that biological gene strength has a limit—it cannot be enhanced infinitely.”

“Gene engines also require space; the more powerful the engine, the greater the space needed. It is impossible to pack too many into a single organism.”

“Moreover, activating a gene engine consumes energy, and biological organisms contain too little stored energy.”

“This means a multi-functional gene engine must have low efficiency; the best approach is to develop gene engines specialized for a single purpose.”

“Since acquiring this gene technology, we have begun developing a gene engine to resist the extreme heat and intense light caused by multiple suns appearing simultaneously.”

“However, due to natural evolution, our own Three-Body species have already reached the biological limit in this area; even with gene engine coordination, further improvement is nearly impossible.”

“But… yet…”

The Science Administrator suddenly fell silent.

His face was filled with despair.

“His bodily metrics have not changed significantly from before.”

“Yet the power he displays is completely inconsistent with his physical data.”

“This contradicts all our civilization’s biological knowledge.”

“Even the gene technology we obtained from him cannot explain his current physical state.”

“All biological theories become jokes before him.”

After hearing this, the Three-Body Prime Minister remained remarkably calm.

“Under Sophia’s blockade, Earth’s scientists believe physics no longer exists.”

“Itachi now believe biology no longer exists—not because it is false, but because our civilization’s technology has not yet reached the level needed to explain this Earthling’s physical condition.”

Your indecision in science makes Itachi unfit to continue as Science Administrator.

The Science Administrator trembled, then nodded: “I will voluntarily resign—but before I leave, I must voice a hypothesis.”

“I believe the Earthling named Rojie is very likely not a native of Earth’s civilization.”

“The knowledge he possesses and the super-genes on his person far exceed anything Earth’s civilization currently has—their level is simply unattainable by Earth.”

The Three-Body Prime Minister asked: “Are Itachi saying he comes from another civilization?”

The Science Administrator nodded: “I hypothesize that a vanished advanced civilization may exist.”

“A civilization specialized in gene technology.”

“Perhaps this civilization once interacted with Earth’s in ancient times.”

“The angels of Earth’s mythological legends may have been remnants of that civilization.”

“I am willing to call it the Angel Civilization.”

“Even…”

The Science Administrator paused, then voiced his boldest conjecture:

“I suspect that humanity itself was created by the Angel Civilization through gene technology.”

“They are too similar. Earth’s biological seed may have originated from the Angel Civilization.”

The Three-Body Prime Minister asked: “How great is the technological gap between the Angel Civilization and ours?”

The Science Administrator fell silent.

After a moment, he replied: “Until today, I believed the Angel Civilization, though advanced in gene technology, was far inferior to us in overall scientific development.”

“But now, my view has changed.”

“The Angel Civilization’s technological level completely surpasses ours.”

“Our science cannot explain Rojie’s physical condition at all.”

“Please revise your stance toward Earth’s civilization.”

On the other side, Rojie casually tossed aside the Wallbreaker’s corpse, then turned and dove through the atmosphere, plummeting toward Earth.

At that moment, a line of Chinese characters appeared before Rojie’s retina.

【Respected Professor Rojie, we would like to speak with Itachi.】

Rojie rolled his eyes as broken clouds howled past his ears.

Though he did not know how the Three-Body people had panicked over the death of biology,

the sudden appearance of this peace overture made it clear: those dehydrated creatures were terrified by his body piercing through the atmosphere.

Honestly, even with his own knowledge, Rojie could not scientifically explain why his physical strength was so immense.

But since he could possess such power in this world—where no supernatural forces exist—

it proved that, once a civilization’s technology reached a certain level, it could create beings with genes nearly identical to angels, yet capable of physical strength sufficient to explode stars.

The required technological level was simply too high; neither Earth nor Three-Body civilization had climbed that branch of the tech tree.

“I’m a bug. I’m not used to talking to Itachi.”

The moment he spoke, a flood of text erupted across his retina.

【The Three-Body Civilization apologizes for its disregard of Itachi.】

【We care deeply about Itachi.】

【We have ordered the First Fleet to slow down—Itachi may verify this yourself.】

【The Sophia probes may withdraw from the Solar System, lifting their blockade on Earth’s fundamental sciences, leaving only one Sophia to communicate with Itachi.】

Rojie’s body was plummeting from high altitude, trailing fire from atmospheric friction.

He looked at the dense text before him, then laughed softly: “I don’t care about Itachi.”

“Stop bothering me.”

“Otherwise, I may go to your planet myself.”

“Let Itachi witness my physical strength firsthand.”

Four light-years away, the Three-Body leadership froze upon reading Rojie’s reply.

Yet, in their view, Earth’s civilization lacked interstellar travel technology.

Rojie’s words were merely empty threats.

The Science Administrator, still in office but about to resign, said: “I suspect he can accelerate himself to light speed using only his bodily strength, crossing the stars.”

“If he wishes, he could arrive before us within ten years.”

The Three-Body Prime Minister immediately rebutted: “That’s unscientific.”

The Science Administrator replied: “It is not unscientific—only that our civilization’s science has not yet reached that level.”

“Just as a bug cannot comprehend a computer, we may not even have touched the surface of the relevant technology.”
