Chapter 54: I Now Lack Nothing
San Francisco, Chinatown.
In a somewhat dilapidated antique shop, a sudden clamor broke out.
The numerous books neatly arranged on the shelves tumbled down from above.
Seeing this, Jackie Chan turned pale and frantically stretched out both hands, trying to transform into a human bookend to catch the falling books.
At that moment, the father standing on the ladder to search for books lost his balance and fell straight down.
A loud crash echoed as the father slammed onto Jackie Chan, the force knocking him into darkness, stars flashing before his eyes.
“Dad, what happened?”
Despite bearing the impact of his father’s fall, Jackie Chan remained unharmed and called out at full voice to ask after his father’s condition.
He was practically a superhero.
The father stood up, brushed the dust off his body, and still clutched a book tightly in his hand.
His brow was furrowed, as if he had sensed something.
“Dad has a bad feeling!”
Jackie Chan blinked in surprise and asked, “Is it about the talisman found in the Anakada Waterfall Cave?”
“Not that. Let Dad think.”
The father waved his hand, speaking as he left the room.
At this moment, Akatsuki Yu appeared beside Jackie Chan.
She looked at the disheveled Jackie Chan and blinked: “Uncle Long, maybe Dad’s just getting old and forgetful.”
Jackie Chan looked up and saw Akatsuki Yu; a look of urgency crossed his face.
“Akatsuki Yu, what are Itachi doing here?”
“School’s about to start.”
Without delay, he sprang to his feet, grabbed Akatsuki Yu, snatched the bag beside him, and dashed out the door.
…
Meanwhile, atop a towering skyscraper in downtown San Francisco.
A stone statue of a coiled dragon stood silently in the center of the room; its previously dull eyes suddenly flickered with eerie red light.
“Walong!”
A deep voice echoed from the statue, reverberating through the empty room.
At that moment, a white-haired young man in a green suit entered gracefully, leaning on a cane.
“Holy Master, what is it?”
“The Snake Talisman has sent Zhou, Rasu, and Afen to seize it.”
The Holy Master’s voice sounded again: “Not that.”
“Yin and Yang are unbalanced. A new demon will emerge.”
“Before that, Itachi must free me.”
Walong frowned slightly and said, “Holy Master, such things are unpredictable.”
“That fellow Jackie Chan is no easy opponent.”
But before he finished speaking, the Holy Master cut him off mercilessly.
“No. Black energy will now favor Itachi. Seize this opportunity.”
No sooner had he spoken than the Holy Master’s stone statue began to slowly melt like flowing lava, gradually transforming into a glowing red talisman tracker.
A black-clad ninja shadow emerged silently from the darkness, caught the talisman tracker, and handed it toWalong.
“It will lead Itachi to the other talismans.”
Walong took the talisman tracker and said, “Holy Master, don’t forget our agreement.”
The Holy Master let out a low laugh and issued another empty promise: “Of course. I’m the most trustworthy.”
“Once Itachi help me collect all the talismans, I’ll give Itachi the Treasure of the Golden Rooster King.”
Walong finally left, satisfied.
…
Meanwhile.
In a luxurious hotel suite in Venice.
Luo Jie casually tossed the now-powerless talisman aside, a triumphant smile on his face.
“Proud rooster, let me fly through the air.”
“Loyal dog, let me live forever.”
“Simple pig, let me dazzle with electric eyes.”
“Hahaha, now I lack nothing.”
No sooner had he spoken than Luo Jie’s body swayed lightly and floated into the air, his eyes suddenly shooting out two brilliant beams of electric light.
The searing electric light sliced through the air, leaving chaos in its wake.
Although Luo Jie’s cultivation of the Great Taiji Qingqing Dao allowed him to perform the Art of Moving Objects after reaching the fourth level,
after transformation, this Art in this world became the use of magic to move objects.
Yet compared to the psychic power granted by the Rooster Talisman, its versatility was far inferior.
Moreover, with just the Rooster Talisman, Luo Jie could fly freely without any external aid.
But Luo Jie keenly sensed that although he had successfully absorbed the magic of the three talismans, they had not truly been refined—nor merged with his own magic.
This meant the talisman magic within him remained vulnerable to being stolen.
According to Luo Jie’s perception, this was not merely because the talisman magic originated from the Holy Master.
More importantly, the Separation Spell of Lope had been imposed upon the talisman magic.
This Separation Spell not only severed the talisman magic from the Holy Master but also blocked Luo Jie’s ability to refine it—truly a headache.
“Still, talisman magic should be shareable, right?”
Luo Jie rubbed his chin, lost in thought.
The talisman magic had already come to him.
He wasn’t entirely clear on the limits of what powers could be shared.
“Got it—I’ll look for a way to dispel the Separation Spell.”
Luo Jie had an idea.
Unlike before, he now possessed magic within him; if he could find the right spell, activating it wouldn’t be difficult.
Since the Separation Spell blocked his refinement of the talisman magic, he simply needed to remove it.
Luo Jie had thought of two methods.
The first was to find Dao Long.
As a black energy wizard who had lived for an unknown length of time, Dao Long knew countless ancient spells, including the Petrification Spell that sealed the Holy Master.
Perhaps he also knew how to dispel the Separation Spell.
The second method was to use the Rat Talisman to revive Lope’s stone statue.
As the holy warrior who once sealed the Holy Master and separated the talisman magic, Lope naturally possessed the corresponding spell.
Of these two methods, Luo Jie favored the latter.
Dao Long’s whereabouts were unpredictable; finding him would not be easy.
Moreover, as a black energy wizard, getting him to willingly hand over a spell would be even harder.
But Lope was different.
Lope was a holy warrior, representing the side of justice.
Conveniently, Luo Jie considered himself the nemesis of evil, also representing justice.
Luo Jie believed they would have plenty to discuss.
Of course, mainly because Lope was easy to fool.
Moreover, Lope could locate the talismans.
If he could be revived, he could help Luo Jie find the remaining talismans.
But the Rat Talisman was hard to find.
Luo Jie strained to recall—he remembered the Rat Talisman had been discovered on the base of an old-fashioned desk lamp.
But where exactly that lamp was, he didn’t know.
