Chapter 214: Extraordinary Meridians

Lu Yu examined the information before him repeatedly twice.

He speculated to himself that the plus sign after Realm, once clicked and Potential Points were consumed, should only be usable for increasing the True Qi attribute.

As for the plus sign after body strengthening, clicking to consume Potential Points could only increase the four attributes of Constitution, Strength, Agility, and Spirit, and could not produce an improvement effect on the True Qi attribute.

Lu Yu's gaze fixed on that striking "10 million" figure; ten million, such a massive number, yet it was only enough to strengthen the body once.

Looking again at the Potential Points he currently had left, it was only 2.5 million... By comparison, looking back at the Potential Points required to increase True Qi, this cost-effectiveness truly seemed very high.

"Should I give it a try?" Lu Yu pondered silently in his heart.

He already had some understanding of the gains brought by strengthening the body.

Take the Force Entering realm, for example; each improvement was roughly a 1.15-fold increase in attributes. And during that previous breakthrough, all attributes had increased by 1.2 times.

Then, what would be the improvement brought by Vein Refining?

With a hint of anticipation, Lu Yu focused his gaze on the Realm section and decisively added 100,000 Potential Points.

In an instant, he clearly felt a vast sea of True Qi surging up within his body; that surging, magnificent True Qi was like a rolling torrent, and by comparison, the few strands of True Qi originally in his body seemed so insignificant.

This majestic True Qi, surrounded by an escort, moved grandly toward an acupoint, and without the slightest hesitation or pause, it slammed straight into it like a cannonball.

"Boom!"

A deafening roar exploded within his body, and that massive amount of True Qi, like a burst river, instantly rushed in with the force of a landslide.

Immediately following, it quickly flowed back like a tide, disappearing into the place where it first appeared.

And the few strands of True Qi that had been quietly circulating in his body seemed to be encouraged by something and joyfully surged toward that spot.

Not only that, Lu Yu keenly sensed that there was an extra strand of True Qi in his body, and at the same time, a faint and warm current of air was slowly wandering throughout his body.

Lu Yu was full of surprise in his heart and hurriedly concentrated his Spirit to check the information prompt in his mind.

【Consumed 100,000 Potential Points, opened the Jinmen Acupoint of the Yang Wei Vessel】

【True Qi +1】

【Constitution +3】

【Strength +2】

"Yang Wei Vessel, Jinmen Acupoint?" Lu Yu murmured softly, and he cast his gaze toward the Realm column again.

Realm: Vein Refining Initial Stage

True Qi: 53

The Realm still displayed as Vein Refining Initial Stage, and a breakthrough had not yet occurred, but the Potential Points consumed for the next Realm improvement had already risen to 120,000.

The True Qi attribute had also successfully increased from 52 points to 53 points.

At the same time, the Constitution and Strength attributes below had also tangibly changed.

Lu Yu suddenly realized.

So, adding points to the Realm was not, as he had previously thought, directly achieving a breakthrough in Realm, but rather consuming Potential Points to open the Extraordinary Meridians.

The first meridian being struck at this moment was called the Yang Wei Vessel, and the Jinmen Acupoint was the first acupoint on this meridian.

The various changes his body had just experienced were undoubtedly the process of True Qi striking the meridians.

Clearly, with the amount of True Qi as majestic as it had just been, let alone opening one acupoint, even opening the entire first meridian might not be a problem, and if one were to be even bolder, opening the Extraordinary Meridians was not entirely impossible.

"It seems that the key to Vein Refining lies in opening the Extraordinary Meridians to increase True Qi, and while increasing True Qi, one can also incidentally increase body attributes. Besides this, it seems that True Qi can also be increased by practicing Internal Energy techniques."

While Lu Yu was thinking, he cast his gaze on the Qianyuan Technique in the Skill column.

He couldn't help but have a series of questions in his heart: what kind of growth model was this Internal Energy technique for increasing True Qi?

Was it like opening meridians, increasing a fixed few points of True Qi each time?

Or was it like when practicing martial arts techniques before, increasing by a certain percentage?

If it were the former, then learning it at any time would be fine; but if it were the latter, naturally, the higher the True Qi value, the greater the improvement brought by practicing this Internal Energy technique.

"No rush, let's use up these Potential Points first." Lu Yu made up his mind, and with a thought, he added another 120,000 Potential Points without hesitation.

In his dantian, that massive amount of True Qi that had briefly hidden away surged out again as if hearing a call, flowing like a galloping giant dragon past the already opened Jinmen Acupoint, and in an instant, it arrived before the second acupoint.

The True Qi did not have the slightest hesitation and slammed into it without hesitation.

Under the impact of this majestic True Qi, the second barrier was like paper, without the slightest power of resistance, and was instantly broken through, like crushing dry weeds and smashing rotten wood.

【Consumed 120,000 Potential Points, opened the Yangjiao Acupoint of the Yang Wei Vessel】

【True Qi +2】

【Constitution +3】

【Strength +2】

"Progressing really fast," Lu Yu couldn't help but exclaim.

With this breakthrough, two more strands of True Qi appeared in his body.

He did not pause at all and continued to click the plus sign; in an instant, the massive True Qi surged out like a tide, no different from the previous situation, and in the blink of an eye, it broke through the third, the Xu Yu Acupoint.

Immediately following, the Tiankuan Acupoint and Jianjing Acupoint were also successfully broken through one after another.

Counting the previous two operations, 700,000 Potential Points had already been consumed.

And the True Qi value had increased by 15 points accordingly; the five strands of True Qi originally in his body had now become six.

Not only that, the Constitution, Strength, and Agility attributes had also seen significant growth, with the growth range generally approaching 30 points.

"I feel that this Vein Refining process is not as simple and easy as I imagined," Lu Yu pondered to himself.

Although the growth speed was indeed relatively slow, and opening an acupoint could only increase a few points of True Qi, fortunately, the consumption of Potential Points was not too much.

"Continue."

Lu Yu glanced at the remaining Potential Points; there were still more than 1.8 million, and according to the current trend, wanting to open a few more acupoints did not seem to be a difficult task.

【Consumed 200,000 Potential Points, opened the Touwei Acupoint of the Yang Wei Vessel】

【True Qi +6】

【Constitution +5】

【Agility +3】

Immediately following, he consumed 220,000 Potential Points to open the Benshen Acupoint; he consumed 240,000 Potential Points to open the Yangbai Acupoint...

【Consumed 320,000 Potential Points to open the Chengling Acupoint of the Yang Wei Vessel】

【True Qi +12】

【Constitution +5】

【Strength +6】

【Agility +5】

"To think it increased three basic attributes at once?" Lu Yu could not help but feel somewhat surprised.

However, just as he was impatiently wanting to click the plus sign again, he suddenly discovered that his Potential Points had already been exhausted.

These 2.5 million-plus Potential Points had successfully opened a total of twelve acupoints, and his True Qi value had increased by 78 points as a result.

His Constitution, Strength, and Agility attributes had increased by a cumulative total of nearly 200 points. Only his Mental Attribute remained unchanged.

He looked at the panel once more,

Realm: Vein Refining Initial Stage

True Qi: 131

The Potential Points required for the next Meridian Opening had already reached 340,000.
