Chapter 612: The Failure Cast Aside by the Version! A Place of One's Own!

"So terrifying? Listening, it's oddly scary!" Lin Yang was startled.

"Perhaps it's even more than that; that dimension we haven't yet accessed, unknown things always hide bizarre aspects beyond ordinary reach." Su Yang said gravely.

Fifth Tier versus Second Tier is a complete Dimensional Reduction Strike.

The gap between them is even greater than that between adults and children.

Without exaggeration, the person Wang Yuning encountered, if not bound by the rules, could blink and kill every player except himself.

With no effort at all!

"Boss is right; he truly is impervious to blades and spears, his strength is frightening."

"I initially suspected it was due to Innate Talent, but after many tests I found he constantly stays at peak, which is illogical," Wang Yuning said.

"In a sense, this person is no different from the Divine." Su Yang tossed the blood‑stained paper ball into the trash can and continued:

"His lifespan is endless, and his physical quality exceeds Cognition."

"Even a Minotaur cannot harm him; likewise, the creatures of this Sea Area cannot either."

"Unfortunately, he cannot shed his mortal body and remains bound by the rules."

"And this... is also one of the few methods New Era Players use to win."

"Yu Ning, your luck is good."

Luck?

In Lin Yang's mind, he imagined confronting a Fifth Tier player.

After pondering for a while, he could not devise a way to resist.

Unless he can Copy a super‑powerful Innate Talent.

But the problem arises: how could a player possessing such Innate Talent die easily?

Either way, it's a deadlock hard to resolve.

Wang Yuning, however, managed to win.

Although she returned dragging a severely wounded body, this feat already surpasses most people.

Even... the Ascend God Seed!

Thinking of this, Lin Yang suddenly began to worry.

"What if... Wang Yuning's performance is better than Su Yang's, wouldn't the position they now occupy be..."

But on second thought, he dispelled the worry.

After all, this Achievement, though rare, cannot match the Hidden Achievement linked to the theme.

"I think the Matchmaking Mechanism seems problematic," Qin Weiyang said.

"How so?" Lin Yang asked.

"First, why can Old Era Players be matched with New Era Players? Their experience and history are unequal, which is completely unfair."

"Second, some people can be matched while others cannot; this biased mechanism is also an issue."

"Third, the matched Old Era Players are uneven; some have Fifth Tier Gene Modification, others only Second Tier."

"Fourth, they all share a common trait: only Gene Modification surpasses us, and it seems no one has encountered an Old Era Player whose Talent Evolution exceeds Second Tier," Qin Weiyang expressed confusion.

Upon hearing this, Su Yang slightly nodded.

Indeed, he had considered the first three points and could only attribute the problem to as‑yet‑unlisted rules.

As for the fourth point...

"Perhaps they are all Failure?" Su Yang offered the view.

"What aspect do you mean?" Lu Junsheng asked.

"This time in the game I encountered a very interesting phenomenon: some players have stayed inside for a full five years, and some even for a full twenty years!" Su Yang explained.

Huh?

Lin Yang was stunned, his face unable to perceive the Passage: "No way, not to mention twenty years; even five months would drive me crazy."

The Bloody Black Gang is a typical example.

If the game map weren't large enough and the NPCs numerous enough, he certainly couldn't stay.

Wang Yuning did not question, but fell into contemplation.

Su Yang's encounter, in her view, is not impossible.

After all, it involves the Old Era, and many things can no longer be explained with common sense.

Furthermore, if the players Su Yang encountered did not falsify information, can they still be considered players of this era after spending such a long time achieving Clearance?

Or perhaps Divinity would classify them as New Era people?

"Time has passed so long that these players trapped by the game indeed easily drift away from the world," Lu Junsheng nodded.

"Strictly speaking, they are the fish that slipped through the net of the predetermined survivor count; the rules are constantly changing, equivalent to the Version Update occurring at intervals."

"And players omitted in the game, being in another dimension and missing the updates, cannot patch, so they can only match with players of the same version as them," Su Yang analyzed.

"This is the Failure..." Wang Yuning suddenly realized.

"That makes sense the way you put it," Lin Yang nodded in agreement.

"So in our worldview, is the Old Era the Pioneer Server?" Qin Weiyang asked.

"It can be understood that way; as far as I know, each era's rule issuance seems tied to survivor count and player performance, not a fixed time," Su Yang slightly nodded.

Lin Yang's mind flashed with insight, "That is to say... a certain Old Era, due to various factors, caused slow Version Updates, and with the presence of 'Failure', directly led to inclusion in matching."

"This also explains the uneven quality; some may be old monsters from decades ago," Su Yang said.

"No wonder..." Wang Yuning fully understood.

It turns out that the seemingly invincible player was actually just a person abandoned by the era.

Fifth Tier Gene Modification...

Perhaps in some era he was a player who possessed the Ascend God qualification.

All Faith Value went to his own use, acting arbitrarily.

But as the river of time washed over him, he lost that qualification.

"What about the Failure whose Talent Evolution exceeds the Second Tier?" Qin Weiyang returned to the opening topic.

"Perhaps there are no such people, or perhaps they have crossed a certain boundary and will be forced into a new version; after all, Gene Modification might still be constrained by rules, whereas Innate Talent may not," Su Yang speculated.

Deception, even at the Second Tier, is already this powerful.

He dares not imagine how terrifying it would be to evolve further.

If it were Fifth Tier Deception, it should be able to reverse the rules.

"That's probably one of the few reasonable things amid the unreasonable," Lin Yang sighed helplessly.

"When we encounter these players, we'd better not clash with them directly, and Gene Modification must keep pace," Su Yang said earnestly.

Originally, he did not pay attention to the strength in this regard.

After all, even the fiercest hulks cannot defeat him with just a mouth in a one‑on‑one.

But as difficulty keeps rising, Su Yang cannot guarantee that his luck will again be good enough to encounter a pregnant woman plus a fool everyone believes.

This is why he places extra emphasis on Combat Technique.

Moreover, he does not wish to become the Guanggan Commander; the lives of his Dependents are the key that supports his winning the gamble.

Considering everything, he must start taking Gene Modification seriously!

Without addressing everything, at least a few Core Members must have the strength for a fight.

So that in future Clash there remains…

A place of his own!
