Chapter 613: At Worst We'll Be Brothers in the Sea! The End Is Set!

~7 min read 1,216 words

Lu Junsheng and Wang Yuning's return made the villa much livelier.

Lin Yang, being a chatterbox, has to say a couple of sentences to anyone, otherwise his lips itch.

In his words—chatting is as commonplace and indispensable as eating a meal.

Originally, Wang Yuning was seriously injured and needed to recuperate.

But Lin Yang showed up uninvited, chatting about all sorts of topics, chattering like sending telegrams.

Wang Yuning, a relatively introverted girl, was forced by him to blurt out a "Get lost."

Lin Yang heard that and was not shocked but pleased, congratulating her on escaping the Sea of Suffering.

This left Wang Yuning both laughing and crying, at a loss.

It was her first time meeting such a top‑tier player.

Inside, she felt no urgency or worry about the future.

Her eyes were filled with a yearning for free conversation.

"He's Divine, no need to worry about him," Su Yang said.

"How can you speak like that? Can't you see I'm helping her?" Lin Yang complained.

"What if some people prefer quiet solitude? Your actions will only breed resentment," Su Yang earnestly advised.

Yet Lin Yang ignored that and persisted stubbornly.

He even carried the prepared dishes upstairs for her to eat.

In his view, humans are social animals; even with vastly different personalities, they will inevitably have moments they want to confide their troubles to others.

They also have boredom‑driven entertainment needs.

Seeing his persistence, Su Yang simply stopped saying more.

He is only in charge of coordinating the Faith Value Ascend God seed, not the parent of an entire clan.

The sixth day of the ninth Death Game.

"Bang bang!"

"It's eight o'clock, get up!"

Lin Yang rubbed his sleepy eyes, looked at the clock on the bedside table with a weary face, and despondently said, "Only eight o'clock, no classes, no work, why get up so early?"

"We agreed on training yesterday, get up quickly," Su Yang lifted his blanket and hauled him up.

Lin Yang was like a soft‑shell shrimp, letting Su Yang manipulate him while his eyes stayed closed.

"If you still don't get up, when Wei Yang comes to nag you it won't be such a gentle method," Su Yang issued a Final Ultimatum.

Upon hearing the name, Lin Yang's eyes widened as if startled, and he swiftly donned clothes and rushed into the bathroom to freshen up.

He had personally experienced Qin Weiyang's methods.

The ruthlessness was truly no joke.

A few minutes later, a motivated Lin Yang appeared in the first‑floor living room, "I'm ready!"

Su Yang handed him a cup of black coffee, "Drink it, accelerate metabolism."

"Drinking coffee this early, will it put a lot of pressure on the kidneys?" Lin Yang asked worriedly.

"You won't use it anyway, what are you worried about?" Su Yang gulped it down, set the cup down, and walked out.

"I see…" Lin Yang thought carefully, nodded, and drained it in one gulp.

The bitter flavor violently assaulted his taste buds, and his previously dazed brain snapped awake.

"Damn, I never thought I'd still be tasting horse urine in my lifetime."

He spat twice and immediately followed.

Today's training regimen was simple: running, punching, and horse stance.

A standard three‑piece set, to hone the basics.

Lu Junsheng, being naturally skillful, did not join this plan; he has his own training method.

Wang Yuning's injuries had not yet healed, so she would not participate for the time being.

Su Yang spent the entire morning in intensive training; although these items could not directly increase physical strength,

they allowed him to use his muscles more precisely and sharply, and made his body more agile.

Lin Yang handled both lunch and dinner; he enjoys cooking and truly enjoys it.

Day Seven.

It was also the final day of the ninth Death Game.

After training, Su Yang sat on the first‑floor living‑room sofa, staring intently at the screen, waiting for the result.

As time passed, his patience grew increasingly thin.

Lin Yang, just out of the shower and about to ask, suddenly understood something instantly.

He sat beside Su Yang, wiping his damp hair, and said, "What do you want to eat tonight?"

"Anything," Su Yang replied offhand.

"Don't say that, I hate when people say 'anything'; if I make something you don't like, you'll blame me," Lin Yang protested.

Su Yang ignored him, looked up toward the direction of Li Xin's villa.

Lin Yang patted his thigh and said earnestly, "Put your heart in your belly; Jiang Chengyu and the others are far stronger than me, they could still be knocked down at this stage, right?"

"My concern isn't only their safety, but also yours and mine's future," Su Yang said seriously.

"What are you afraid of? At worst we'll be brothers again in the sea," Lin Yang said carefree.

Su Yang glanced at him, "Your heart is truly big."

"Otherwise what? I can't go in and play the game for him; constantly worrying only wastes my own emotions," Lin Yang shrugged.

"I was jogging this morning and passed Li Xin's Villa; from the sound of their discussion I could tell the other side seemed to have only one person left," Su Yang said.

"Six people…" Lin Yang counted on his fingers and frankly said, "Those stinky fish and rotten shrimp can't get on the table; you alone are enough to hold two, still afraid the gamble will be lost?"

"Brother Sheng didn't achieve much; until the final moment there's always a variable," Su Yang shook his head.

Speaking of that, Lin Yang fumed, "That Li Xin guy is full of bad water; I still remember the scheme about you, and when I win the gamble I'll have to run to his door and pee!"

"What, learning to mark territory like a yellow dog?"

"Not at all."

"Hehe…"

As soon as the words fell, two light sounds rang in succession.

Su Yang suddenly turned around, a knowing smile blossoming on his face, "Zhi Rou, Chengyu, welcome home."

"Boss."

"Boss!"

The two first glanced at each other, then shouted together.

Lin Yang hooked the two on their shoulders, lifted his chin, "See, I wasn't wrong, they definitely won't lose."

"With that, the gamble is now about seventy‑eight percent certain." The big stone hanging in Su Yang's heart slowly settled.

The thing he feared most still didn't happen.

"Besides the two of us, who else hasn't returned?" Jiang Chengyu took off his tattered short‑sleeve shirt, revealing a body of tendon flesh.

"Four more are missing," Su Yang said.

Jiang Chengyu glanced at the clock, "It's fine, there are still ten hours; they'll definitely come back."

Su Yang stayed in the living room until nightfall; having no appetite, he didn't even eat dinner.

In all his past time, this was still his first time.

Lin Yang expressed great shock.

But he knew Su Yang's concerns, so he closed his restless mouth and stayed by his side to wait.

Until 11 p. m., another two light sounds rang.

Luo Shuangshuang and Xi Jun returned one after another.

Su Yang's face regained a smile, and he welcomed them.

However…

"Dong!"

As the clock struck, time froze at twelve o'clock.

Lin Yang blankly glanced at the clock, his complexion darkening,

"Wanrou and Yan Ke…"

"won't come back."
