Chapter 143: Human and Ship as One!
Tack didn't know what this kid was up to again.
But his battlefield-honed instincts told him this wouldn't be small.
Gulp!
Tack swallowed hard, staring at Alvin: "Don't you dare cause trouble—we're already in enough chaos!"
"You just said things are already chaotic—what's one more from me?" Alvin licked his lips, eyes blazing with madness: "It can't get any worse, can it?"
Tack paused, thinking it over—maybe he was right.
Things were already this bad—how much worse could they possibly get?
"Head into the factory—the core still has the oilmen's power reactor. That ought to meet your standards," Tack pointed behind him, gritting his teeth: "Give these damn Chaos bastards a real show!"
"You got it—watch this!"
Alvin tossed off the words and vanished into the factory.
But his words made Tack shiver involuntarily, as if cold had pierced his marrow—he muttered under his breath: "This kid… he's not actually going to pull off something huge, is he?"
He said it aloud, but deep down, he didn't truly believe Alvin could do anything meaningful.
After all, what could a scrap-hunter from the Lower Nest possibly accomplish?
"All weapon arrays—FIRE!!!"
At that moment, Yan Liang's voice rang out.
Tack snapped out of his thoughts, focusing instantly on the tide of Chaos filth surging toward him, abandoning all thought of Alvin.
Meanwhile, Alvin leapt from the factory's high gun emplacement, using his bio-armor's superior augmentation to charge straight into the factory's depths.
Along the way, Alvin noticed something.
Many of the factory's systems—including the original weapon arrays—had been sabotaged in advance; everywhere he looked, dead oilmen lay scattered.
"Of course… the mastermind isn't Rashid," he growled, examining the corpses' wounds—clearly Imperial weapons.
Someone had destroyed the foundry before the chaos even began, to prevent any strong resistance from derailing their plan.
But… who was the saboteur?
Alvin's mind churned with no clear clue—he set it aside for now, focusing only on the immediate crisis.
The mastermind would reveal himself eventually—he had to deal with the horde of Chaos Astartes outside first. Without regular Imperial Guard support, the Watchers' three squads stood no chance.
Deep in the factory's core, three massive power reactors lay shattered, completely offline.
"God, please let there be something left!"
Alvin clenched his teeth, stepped forward, and pressed his hand against the towering reactor: "Navigator System—how much energy remains?"
His greatest fear: all energy had bled out from the damage.
【Detected large power reactor (severely damaged). Remaining internal energy: 9700 units】
"Absorb!"
Alvin exhaled slightly—so long as the other two reactors held similar reserves, he could summon the "Key of Covenant" battleship from the xenos universe into the main one!
【Energy replenished: 9700 units】
【Energy replenished: 12000 units】
【Energy replenished: 15000 units】
【Current energy reserve: 36700 units】
"Perfect!"
Alvin's eyes gleamed—this was solid.
With over thirty thousand units in reserve, summoning was guaranteed. Now he just needed the right position, then call the "Key of Covenant" down—give that petty old K a real surprise.
He pulled out Mark V from his personal space, stroking its battered armor with a sigh: "After this, I'm really going to find Tony and get you properly repaired."
As he donned Mark V again, the familiar voice echoed.
"Welcome back, user. Sunday is at your service!"
"Activate stealth mode." Wearing dual armor, Alvin felt safer—slipping out silently from the factory's side in invisibility.
Summoning a battleship wasn't a small thing.
If he did it in front of so many, he'd be mistaken for a Chaos fiend—he had to avoid attention.
Once clear of the factory's fire coverage, Alvin activated his thrusters and shot straight into the sky.
Fortunately, the Chaos Astartes had drawn nearly all firepower and attention—Yan Liang spotted a shadow streaking upward but paid it little mind.
Once he reached the upper atmosphere and confirmed no one was watching, Alvin crossed into the xenos universe.
The next instant.
The "Key of Covenant," a battleship from the xenos universe, engineered by the Engineers, suddenly appeared in the heavens!
"What the hell is that?!"
Tack stared, eyes wide, at the bizarre vessel hovering above—shaped like two entwined hands, resembling a key, its entire form gray.
"No! It's a xenos battleship?!"
Yan Liang, battle-hardened, recognized it instantly—it wasn't Imperial. Anyone could see the design had nothing to do with the Imperium.
The Astartes, already tense, felt their morale plummet at the sight of such a massive xenos vessel.
Had Captain Lei Meng forgotten to pray to the Primarchs and Lord Karla today?
Why else would they be so cursed?
First the damn World Eaters warband, now this xenos battleship out of nowhere—this was misfortune's mother opening the door to misfortune itself!
"You bastards—your grandpa's here!!!"
Piloting the "Key of Covenant," Alvin marked every enemy position below the factory on the star map, face flushed with fury, veins bulging on his forehead as he roared: "Die—die—die—DIE!!!!"
The next moment, the massive key-shaped battleship turned its cannons toward the Chaos Astartes, demons, and cultists—and unleashed a deafening roar!
Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!
High-energy beams rained down like hail upon the Chaos forces.
Ten-meter-wide azure energy blasts slammed into the battlefield, sending dust plumes soaring dozens of feet high—explosions and fire instantly obliterated dozens of Chaos Astartes before they could react.
"My Emperor…" Tack stared, dumbfounded, eyes wide: "Did I just see that? A heretic battleship… helping us fight Chaos?"
Yan Liang was equally stunned.
That was a xenos vessel—so why… why did it feel like it had a personal vendetta? Why was it hunting them down?
Chaos, including the World Eaters Astartes, were bewildered—why were they being targeted and not the Imperials?
When did xenos become "loyal"?
But their shouts meant nothing to Alvin—he couldn't hear them anyway, and even if he could, he wouldn't care.
I'm targeting you!
Alvin kept his trigger depressed, laughter echoing through the cockpit—had he not feared summoning Nurgle, he'd have dumped black water down on them, letting these damned Chaos filth taste gene-plagues firsthand.
The "Key of Covenant"'s weapon arrays were designed for cosmic-scale bombardments—each shot tore through Chaos like paper, sending them screaming.
Within mere volleys, the dense ranks of Chaos forces were wiped clean in vast swathes.
"Hahahaha—!"
"Yes! Damn, that's satisfying!"
Alvin, like a war-crazed maniac, piloted the "Key of Covenant," ignoring all threats, fingers locked on the trigger.
What were Chaos Astartes to him?
Try climbing up to the stratosphere and take me on!
【Detected incoming high-energy strike!】
【Danger! Danger! Danger!】
Suddenly, alarms blared urgently.
Alvin's pupils contracted—he looked at the star map: a macrocannon from the World Eaters' strike cruiser in orbit.
"Tch… just when I was having fun?" Alvin clicked his tongue, but wasn't surprised.
He'd considered ramming the Chaos warship—but it was nearly impossible; the "Key of Covenant" would be destroyed long before closing range.
Better to make the most of its final moments—maximize damage to Chaos's living forces, buying time for the ground troops.
Still… Alvin's face didn't show fear—instead, a final, wild grin spread across it: "Chaos bastards—ready? Your grandpa's coming!!!"
BOOM!!!
Amid the Chaos Astartes' roars, the xenos battleship was struck—its hull shattered, spewing fire and smoke, teetering on the edge of collapse.
Chaos forces erupted in cheers!
The damn xenos vessel was finally destroyed!
But in the next second, their cheers choked in their throats—they realized the massive xenos ship was falling straight toward them!
"No—no—NOOOO—!"
Chaos forces screamed in terror.
Alvin sneered, piloting the dying "Key of Covenant" straight into the heart of Chaos.
"Your grandpa's here!!!"
