Chapter 43: Ambushing Nothingness

After escaping from Zhao Yang's grasp, Luo Yao took out the map.

It was called a map, but it was only a map of the interior of the Guxiushi Cave Abode.

In other words, the map in Luo Yao's hand was only partial; another part marked the detailed location of the Cave Abode.

And the part Luo Yao held was exactly what she lacked.

Fortunately, the approximate location of the Guxiushi Cave Abode was marked nearby, so she could only spend more time searching around the area.

Luo Yao did not know that Zhang Yan, a Qi Refining Tenth Layer cultivator hunting her, had already arrived at the Guxiushi Cave Abode.

Luo Yao carefully walked into the stone door; inside stood a stone table, and on the table sat a Jade Box.

Luo Yao's heart leaped with joy; she hurried forward, picked up the Jade Box, and upon opening it, saw a Talisman Paper inside.

Zhao Yang had already identified the corpses of those people as the ones he had arranged to ambush Luo Yao; it seemed they had failed.

Luo Yao took out the map; the Guxiushi Cave Abode seemed vast, and the place where she currently stood should be the central position of the Cave Abode. Calling it a Cave Abode, it was actually much like a small underground palace.

And what about Luo Yao?

Two hours...

Until half a day had passed, Zhao Yang felt something was wrong; he remembered that when he had someone deliver a message to Luo Yao, he had told her the location of the Guxiushi Cave Abode.

Thinking of the ambush he had arranged earlier, Zhao Yang could not help but reveal a smug smile; that bitch surely never thought he had already set up a Heavenly Net.

And Zhao Yang was also heading toward the Guxiushi Cave Abode.

Zhao Yang squatted alone in the grass until night fell; only when countless insects swarmed around him did he step out with a dark face.

Soon Luo Yao knew the information on the Talisman Paper: it was a high-grade Talisman Paper capable of erasing Divine Sense/Spiritual Soul, a very precious Talisman Paper whose method of creation had almost been lost among cultivators today.

It seemed Luo Yao had gone in the wrong direction, but luck was on her side, and she unexpectedly found another path into the Guxiushi Cave Abode.

So, could it be that someone else discovered the Guxiushi Cave Abode and then killed his subordinates?

Thinking of this, Zhao Yang's face grew even less pleasant; he still planned to deal with Luo Yao first before exploring the Guxiushi Cave Abode.

"Could it be that someone else killed her halfway?"

Zhao Yang thought with disgust, but thought as he might, he still decided to continue waiting.

So, Zhao Yang was in front of the mountain, while Luo Yao was behind the mountain.

The imagined scenario where his subordinate brought Luo Yao to meet him did not happen; instead, the situation he did not want to see appeared.

Whoosh whoosh whoosh!

Seeing Luo Yao, the Puppet sprayed countless poison needles from its entire body, which shot densely toward Luo Yao.

In other words, she should not be unable to find the location of the Guxiushi Cave Abode; half a day had passed, it was impossible for her not to have arrived here, after all, they had set out at roughly the same time.

Moreover, according to the traces at the scene, it must have happened a long time ago, seemingly left yesterday.

Thinking of the expression on Luo Yao's face when she arrived at the entrance of the Guxiushi Cave Abode only to meet an ambush, Zhao Yang immediately revealed a smug smile.

He had been there before, so he did not need to take a detour; thus, he arrived at the Guxiushi Cave Abode without spending much time.

Little did he know, Luo Yao had already entered the Cave Abode from the other side and was now exploring it.

Zhao Yang did not know this; he had been guarding outside the Cave Abode, waiting for Luo Yao to appear.

Or perhaps continue ambushing here, wait for Luo Yao to show herself, kill her, and then proceed into the Cave Abode to explore.

Boom!

Invisible Sword Qi easily slaughtered the Puppet; only with a thud did the Puppet fall to the ground, motionless.

And he and Luo Yao had set out only today.

"I just don't know where the Star Frost Sand is?"

Afterwards, Luo Yao saw a stone door behind the Puppet, which stood open; it seemed because she had defeated the Puppet, she had passed the trial.

"Soul-Erasing Talisman!"

Because he discovered that the battle traces at the scene were absolutely not something a Qi Refining Sixth Layer like Luo Yao could have left, so...

Soon, she saw a figure walk out.

Anyway, as Luo Yao walked along, she suddenly realized she seemed to have gone in the wrong direction.

In other words, Luo Yao did not enter through the main gate of the Guxiushi Cave Abode, but took a small path.

The person who struck had strength greater than his; even if he entered the Cave Abode, he might not be able to defeat that person and seize the treasure from their grasp.

"How is that possible!"

He saw that a fierce battle seemed to have occurred around the area; the ground was in a mess, with shattered mountain stones and debris scattered everywhere.

After all, her map contained only one sentence; she could only determine direction and position on her own.

"I wonder if they caught that bitch."

She also found the Guxiushi Cave Abode, but because she was lost, she circled around before finding the Guxiushi Cave Abode.

After hesitating for a moment, Zhao Yang decided to continue ambushing Luo Yao here, after all, according to the traces at the scene.

"Damn it!"

As soon as she stepped into the corridor, she heard a crisp sound coming from the darkness, and immediately became fully alert.

Its strength was similar to hers, yet it did not possess self-awareness like Xiao Kui.

It was a Puppet.

After confirming this, Zhao Yang breathed a sigh of relief; after all, if Luo Yao truly possessed such strength, he would probably have to weigh the possibility of settling the score with Luo Yao.

He found it hard to believe; he had specifically spent a huge price to obtain a set of Arrays, a set of Arrays he himself dared not resist head-on; how could Luo Yao, who was weaker than him, possibly crush the Array and kill all the ambushers.

One hour.

Crack!

Now he hesitated: should he rush into the Cave Abode immediately to loot a batch before that person snatches the treasure?

So, he cleared the traces from the scene, then lay in ambush nearby, waiting for Luo Yao to appear.

…………

However, the smile on his face did not last long before he arrived at the entrance of the Guxiushi Cave Abode.

Confirming the Puppet was no longer moving, she finally breathed a sigh of relief and stored the Puppet away. Although this Puppet was not as good as Xiao Kui, it could still be sold for money or given to Yan Jie for study.

Luo Yao breathed a sigh of relief but did not store away her Defense Magical Treasure; instead, she advanced while protected by the Defense Magical Treasure.

Luo Yao summoned her Defense Magical Treasure to block the poison needles from the outside, then drew out her Flying Sword and unleashed the Ruoshui Sword Technique.

Next, as long as she found the cave entrance, she could enter to explore.

Zhao Yang walked over with a gloomy expression, carefully examined the scene, and then breathed a sigh of relief.

Previously, he had gone to explore, but he only passed the first trial; the subsequent trials were impossible to clear, so he was forced to abandon the exploration.

After thinking it over, she decided to first explore the unexplored locations marked on the map, as the likelihood of finding Star Frost Sand in those places was high.

The one who killed him and shattered the Array was someone else!

…………

Finally, after wandering blindly for nearly an hour, Luo Yao felt she had arrived near the Guxiushi Cave Abode.

After Luo Yao escaped, Zhao Yang immediately rushed toward the Guxiushi Cave Abode.

"Truly an Guxiushi Cave Abode; such precious Talisman Paper appears as soon as one arrives. What about afterwards, then?"

Luo Yao herself felt some anticipation for the exploration ahead. Moreover, judging by the map, there were many Stone Rooms nearby, which meant that treasures were hidden within these Stone Rooms?
