Chapter 40
Su Han rubbed his temples, a headache brewing as he recalled his earlier conversation with Aizen.
When Aizen left, he naturally informed Su Han.
His reason was that Mary Geoise, as the headquarters of the Celestial Dragons, must hold many valuable treasures.
He came here specifically for these treasures and Devil Fruits.
As compensation for not participating in the battle, no matter how much he acquired, he would give Su Han half.
Of course, Aizen’s goal was this, and Uzumaki Nagato’s intention was largely the same.
After all, Uzumaki Nagato cared little for points; he valued Nan’s life-extension ability more. He wanted to see if he could obtain a Logia Devil Fruit from Mary Geoise.
As for All Might, he had little use here. He chose to go to Mary Geoise to uphold his justice.
“Then… it’s my turn now.”
A faint smile curled on Su Han’s lips as he gazed at the distant White Bear General, his voice carrying a hint of depth.
“I wonder… if I obtain the Dark-Dark Fruit and then seize the Lightning-Lightning Fruit, could I achieve elementization…”
“It’s truly worth looking forward to.”
Instantly using the Flying Thunder God Technique, Su Han’s figure vanished without a trace.
White Bear General’s pupils contracted sharply; at that moment, he spread his electric net and Kenbunshoku Haki outward in all directions.
The instant Su Han disappeared, he sensed something was wrong.
The vigilant White Bear revealed his traits as a Marine Admiral.
“One billion volts!”
White Bear General growled low, transforming into a thunder god as endless arcs of lightning coiled around his body, spreading outward and scorching the earth.
The extreme heat warped the space around him; the lightning arcs grew denser until they coalesced into a liquid-like pool of thunder.
“Found you!”
White Bear General’s eyes hardened, his fist clenched into an infinite sphere of lightning, slamming into the empty air before him.
Su Han’s figure materialized instantly, expressionless as he stared at the charging White Bear General, activating the Dark-Dark Fruit’s immunity ability.
“Boom!”
The solid punch struck Su Han’s body.
White Bear showed no delight. Instead, his pupils shrank sharply.
For the punch did not pierce Su Han’s body—it was blocked by the pitch-black mist clinging to his skin.
“How?”
Deep shadows filled White Bear’s eyes.
“If I’d truly hit him… maybe I’d feel pain too?”
Su Han stared coldly at White Bear General; though his gaze was icy, a gentle smile curled at his lips.
In a flash, a zanpakutō appeared in his hand.
It was Kyōka Suigetsu—the zanpakutō Aizen had given him.
“But… the battle is already decided.”
“You’ve been trapped in my rhythm since the beginning.”
“Shatter, Kyōka Suigetsu!”
White Bear’s pupils contracted sharply; he gasped, spewing blood in great gulps, his expression disbelief mixed with terror.
The world before him shattered into fragments.
Everything up until now had merely been an illusion.
“Ssshh!”
White Bear General lowered his head, staring at his chest—unbeknownst to him, his own sword, Shusui, had pierced his own torso.
Just now, he had stabbed himself.
Only now did he finally realize: “Kyōka Suigetsu… is Aizen Sōsuke’s Kyōka Suigetsu… Are you Aizen?”
White Bear General fully understood—no wonder he’d repeatedly fallen into disadvantage against this man.
The truth was, his opponent was none other than the final boss of the Shinigami.
If it were that one, hypnotizing him with Kyōka Suigetsu and altering his appearance would be effortless.
This entire War of the Summit had been entirely under his control.
Yet, for some reason, White Bear General felt something still wasn’t right.
“But that doesn’t make sense… If this were Aizen, why does he have the Dark-Dark Fruit? Did he come to this world and consume it? If so… that’s terrifying…”
This was White Bear General’s final thought.
He died without understanding why the War of the Summit in his memory had spiraled so wildly.
The next moment, Su Han’s hand pressed against White Bear General’s chest.
Black mist spread outward, obscuring the view of onlookers.
“White Bear General?”
Su Han’s voice was calm.
“I’ll take your Lightning-Lightning Fruit—without asking.”
“White Bear!”
Zhan Guo had been watching the battlefield closely; when he saw the White Bear General’s autumn-water long blade pierce through his own body, and Su Han enveloped the surroundings with black mist, his eyes bulged with rage.
Zhan Guo now understood—White Bear was likely dead.
A great general, fallen at last.
Looking at the chaotic battlefield, at the unknown强者 who had blocked and even overwhelmed the top combatants of the Marine Headquarters.
Then looking at the Seven Warlords of the Sea, idling and doing nothing—he finally clenched his teeth.
“No matter what! We must cut off Roger’s evil bloodline.”
Zhan Guo let out a low roar: “Now, execute the criminal bloodline of Pirate King Roger!”
The two executioners exchanged a glance, then without hesitation crossed their blades across Ace’s chest.
“Zhan Guo!”
Whitebeard, locked in battle with Karp, saw this and roared.
Not just Whitebeard—even Karp was momentarily stunned by the sight.
In that instant, Whitebeard unleashed a Kong震 that slammed directly into Karp, sending him flying.
“Zhan Guo! If you dare harm my beloved son, I swear the Marines will never again set foot upon the seas.”
Zhan Guo’s face twitched—he knew clearly that Whitebeard was not lying. With Whitebeard and these unknown强者’ power, if they truly turned against the Marines, they might indeed crush the entire organization.
But…
The Marines’ identity forbade them from bowing to pirates.
“Prepare…”
As Zhan Guo roared, his Den Den Mushi suddenly rang—he froze, glancing at the device.
The next moment, his pupils shrank sharply.
For he realized the caller was the Five Elders.
After a moment’s hesitation, Zhan Guo answered the call.
“Zhan Guo! The Holy Land Mary Geoise has been purged by the most vicious criminals in history! The Fleet Admiral, Rob Lucci, was gravely wounded in combat! We are also fighting the enemy!”
“I order you! Immediately withdraw all Marine forces and return to defend Mary Geoise! No matter what, the Celestial Dragons’ holy land must not suffer the slightest damage!”
Zhan Guo’s face went slack. Mary Geoise had been attacked too? How was this possible? Before he could respond, the other end of the Den Den Mushi emitted a sharp crackling tear—and the call ended.
“Has the battle on the other front reached this level?”
Zhan Guo gripped the Den Den Mushi, torn between two choices.
If he did not return to defend Mary Geoise, once it recovered, the Marines would surely face condemnation—or worse—from Mary Geoise.
But how many sacrifices had the Marines made to kill Ace, to slay Whitebeard? Even the entire Marine Headquarters was now mired in this colossal battle.
Even if he wanted to withdraw, could he truly do so?
Countless bolts of lightning suddenly surged upward from the center of the battlefield.
“This power… the White Bear General?”
