Chapter 45: Crocodile Hunt

Lin Yifan did not rush; after placing the wild boar meat left from the first-round task into his space, he then began to approach the water pool.

Although he knew there were crocodiles in the water pool, he had already approached the water pool once before.

With no meat in his hand, he suffered no attack, which basically confirms that as long as he does not hold a specific item, crocodiles will not appear.

Therefore, he could safely inspect the water pool and, according to the geography, devise a way to make a trap capable of dealing with crocodiles.

After walking around the water pool, Lin Yifan quickly came up with an idea.

He discovered that on the left side of the water pool there was a stone taller than a person, and he had the Wind-Chasing Cloud-Breaking Bow in his hand; pillow not saying 100%, but at least could reach 90%.

And this is also his strongest weapon he can rely on; as long as he can find a high point to shoot arrows, he has a chance to kill the crocodile.

However, the bow and arrow are ranged weapons; the ideal attack range is between 12 and 65 meters, and whether too close or too far, they cannot achieve maximum attack power.

Therefore, he must attack the crocodile from a position beyond 12 meters.

However, he did not know how fast the crocodile's speed was; if, as soon as he threw the bait, the crocodile appeared immediately, then it would be difficult for him to pull back and attack.

Of course, he also wanted to stand at a distance and throw bait to lure the crocodile out for killing.

But if he missed, or the landing spot was not ideal, it would likely affect the kill.

Moreover, he currently does not know how many opportunities he has to lure and kill this crocodile.

What if there is only one chance?

Then wouldn't his task be wasted?

But now, he has helped me complete the task again!

The huge stone before him is about four or five meters high, and it is roughly ten or so meters from the edge of the water pool.

At this distance, Lin Yifan still has confidence to hit the target!

Having made up his mind, he did not waste any more time; after climbing the giant stone with both hands, he took out the wild boar meat and threw it toward the water pool's edge.

After throwing it, he immediately took out the Wind-Chasing Cloud-Breaking Bow from his personal space, tightened the bowstring, and stared solemnly at the edge of the water pool.

"Whoosh!"

Less than a minute after the wild boar meat landed beside the water, ripples appeared in the water pool.

After the ripples rolled over, a ferocious crocodile head slowly emerged from beneath the water.

The crocodile was very alert; although it saw the wild boar meat on the shore, it did not immediately come ashore, but instead stared with its eyes, looking back and forth.

At this, Lin Yifan's heart skipped a beat; he immediately lay flat on the stone, fearing that if the crocodile discovered him, it would not dare to come ashore.

Fortunately, there was a protrusion on the stone; he hid behind it, which could just about completely shield his body.

That crocodile observed for over a minute before cautiously crawling ashore.

After the crocodile came ashore, Lin Yifan discovered that its body was actually seven or eight meters long!

This further confirmed Lin Yifan's earlier judgment; the water pool's bottom indeed connects to the dark river!

Moreover, the dark river's area is still quite wide; otherwise, how could it nurture such a huge crocodile?

As for what breed this crocodile is,

Lin Yifan does not know!

He has not studied crocodile breeds, but being able to grow to such a size, it is definitely not something easy to deal with.

However, judging from this crocodile's previous vigilance, its courage should not be considered great; if it cannot be killed in one blow, it will likely be difficult to lure it out again later.

Realizing this, Lin Yifan instantly felt pressure arise!

After taking a deep breath, he carefully drew the bowstring fully, aiming the arrow at the crocodile's head.

However, after thinking it over, he changed his attack target to the crocodile's eyes.

Although the head could guarantee a one-shot kill, Lin Yifan discovered that the crocodile's head was covered with thick scales; even if his bow was bronze grade, what if it could not pierce the defense?

But the eyes are different!

One of the weaknesses of any living creature is definitely the eyes; as long as you can shoot the eyes, even if it does not die, you can temporarily immobilize it.

However, the difficulty of shooting the eyes is really too high!

Lin Yifan felt some hesitation in his heart, but he quickly made a decision.

Shoot the eyes!

Seek wealth in danger!

Although the difficulty is high, as long as he can hit it, they might be able to retain this crocodile.

After taking another deep breath, Lin Yifan no longer hesitated and decisively pulled the bow and shot the arrow.

"Pfft!"

Hit!

However, unfortunately, he did not hit the crocodile's eyes, but struck its mouth instead.

Moreover, fortunately, the arrow pierced the crocodile's mouth directly, pinning the crocodile to the ground.

Intense pain immediately made the crocodile begin to struggle.

While struggling, it immediately wanted to retreat back into the water!

However, Lin Yifan had already made preparations; how could he possibly let it escape!

He immediately shot a second arrow, which likewise targeted the crocodile's eyes.

And this time, he finally hit it!

"Hiss!"

Intense pain caused the crocodile to emit a hissing sound like a snake spitting its tongue, obviously suffering severe injury.

But Lin Yifan still dared not relax; the crocodile is famous for its strong vitality, and being right on the shore, it would soon slip back into the water pool.

For the random attribute reward, it must be kept!

Seeing that the crocodile was about to run away, Lin Yifan gritted his teeth, jumped down from the stone, picked up an axe, and charged forward.

He raised the axe and struck once, fiercely chopping the crocodile's neck.

Unfortunately, the crocodile's neck scales were too thick; even with the axe he could not break through.

But after spotting Lin Yifan, the crocodile's tail suddenly whipped over fiercely!

Lin Yifan flashed his footwork and hurriedly dodged.

But then he found a new target to attack!

Since he couldn't chop the head, he would stab the Skin Swallow instead!

The crocodile's Skin Swallow is under its tail; when it lifts its tail to attack, the Skin Swallow is exposed.

Lin Yifan quietly took out a feather arrow from the Space Ring, gripped it in his hand, and after finding an opportunity, fiercely will encounter and promote the crocodile's Skin Swallow location.

Instantly, the struggling crocodile gave a sudden shudder, then struggled even more frenziedly.

Obviously, Lin Yifan's strike truly took its life!

And she was delighted, drew another feather arrow, and began attacking other weak points.

Because its snout was nailed to the ground, the crocodile could not move at all, only able to wave its tail and frenziedly attack Lin Yifan.

However, Lin Yifan is at least a Law-Image Realm cultivator; facing a crocodile at its peak, he might be intimidated.

But against a crocodile at the end of its strength, he still has a way to deal with it!

He waved the axe, dodging the crocodile's tail attacks while fiercely chopping at its head.

He chopped thirty or forty times, and finally split the crocodile's head.

And at the moment the crocodile died, his Light Screen began to flicker again!
