Chapter 46: In the Water?

At this very moment, Lin Yifan felt his hands so sore he couldn't lift them.

When using the Wind-Chasing Cloud-Breaking Bow, he didn't notice, but when he actually picked it up to chop, he realized this thing's skin is truly tough!

His axe, while not top-notch, was at least ordinary grade.

Striking the crocodile's forehead only left a white mark!

It was much harder to deal with than the wild wolves and spectacled king cobras he'd faced before.

He didn't know if it was because this thing was the mission target, making it so hard to kill.

After taking a deep breath, Lin Yifan sat heavily on the crocodile's back, then he could look at the task prompt.

【Congratulations, Survivor, you completed the Special Treasure Chest Quest's second stage, reward: Random Attribute Points: 2 points.】

【Now opening the Special Treasure Chest Quest's third stage (this quest has five phases total): obtain a set of diving suit (countdown: 23 hours 59 minutes).】

【Special reminder: since the first two stages were completed within an hour, mission completion is rated excellent, so the Survivor may freely ask one question about the next stage.】

Lin Yifan's most cared-for reward was still the Random Attribute Points reward.

He originally thought the second round would be like the first, granting one Random Attribute Point reward.

He never expected it to become 2 points!

This really was an unexpected joy.

If after each round the Random Attribute Points reward could increase,

then after completing these five rounds, his physique could see another boost, letting him face the Natural Disaster Crisis with more confidence.

However, upon seeing the third stage, he couldn't help but feel annoyed.

Completing the first round was pure luck, but this second round actually looked difficult; for him with the Wind-Chasing Cloud-Breaking Bow, it wasn't that hard.

Yet this third round, he truly didn't know how to accomplish it.

He of course knew what diving suit was, and even when he found this water pool, he'd thought about getting a set to go underwater and check things out.

However, in reality, neither the auction house nor individuals could find diving suit.

So now, where is he supposed to look for it?

But this special reminder is actually interesting.

It could literally be called "sleepiness met a pillow."

He was worrying about where to get diving suit, and then this task reminder showed up.

This made Lin Yifan start to wonder whether his luck was just too good, or if everything was deliberately arranged.

Still, even if he had doubts, he could only follow the task's push, step by step.

After taking a deep breath, Lin Yifan began to ask:

"May I ask where I can find diving suit?"

The rules allowed only one question; after deep thought, Lin Yifan carefully crafted this sentence.

He only hoped the answer wouldn't disappoint him!

The light screen flickered slightly, then immediately displayed a line of text:

【Of course the diving suit is in the water!】

This extremely simple sentence left Lin Yifan, like a monk trying to grasp fog, bewildered.

What does it mean?

What does "the diving suit is in the water" mean?

Could it be, have him jump into the water pool to look?

Lin Yifan stared at the pitch-black water pool, his scalp instantly going numb.

Just know, the crocodile just crawled up from the deep water pool; who knows if there are more crocodiles down there?

On shore, he had to rely on the Wind-Chasing Cloud-Breaking Bow to barely kill the crocodile; if he met one underwater, he'd just be food.

Moreover, there are no other rivers nearby, only this water pool.

If the task prompt isn't fooling him, then to complete the third round he must enter the water pool.

Should he take the risk?

Lin Yifan furrowed his brows, hesitating for a moment.

Standing at the water pool's edge, he wrestled with himself for two or three minutes, but still decided to give it a try!

Put bluntly, in this world where safety is never guaranteed, if he doesn't strive and push forward, he'll eventually be eliminated.

Now, a path to grow stronger lies before him; he can't bear to give it up!

After making up his mind, Lin Yifan didn't dilly-dally, immediately preparing to dive in and investigate.

After all, it's not early anymore; only two and a half hours left until nightfall.

Returning to the shelter from here, even at top speed, would take an hour and a half.

He only has one hour to investigate.

But before doing that, he still needs to dispose of this crocodile.

Lin Yifan's ring space isn't small, but these days' supplies have filled it, occupying most of the space.

This crocodile is five to six meters long; without clearing space first, he really can't fit it in.

However, he can't make it back to the shelter in time—should he just toss those basic supplies?

No way; these are the supplies he painstakingly accumulated, he can't just throw them away.

Lin Yifan frowned, thinking, then suddenly his eyes lit up.

He quickly opened a private chat with Hong Shaoqiang and sent a message:

"Are you in the shelter right now?"

At this moment, Hong Shaoqiang happened to still be in the shelter; he had earlier been processing that wild boar, just finished, and sent the boar meat back to the shelter.

Seeing Lin Yifan's message, they hurriedly replied:

I'm at the Shelter; is there anything you need me to do?

After seeing the message, Lin Yifan immediately replied:

I'll trade a batch of supplies to you; first temporarily store them in the Shelter for me, and later, after it gets dark, you can give the supplies back to me.

Exactly, his plan was to exploit the loophole in item trading, handing over what he had to someone else to have them store it.

After returning to the Shelter, he would then trade the items back, thus completing a quick transfer.

Meanwhile, upon seeing Lin Yifan's message, Hong Shaqiang felt a surge of excitement and hurriedly replied:

Brother Lin, as long as you're willing to trust me, I have no problem.

Lin Yifan's reason for seeking out Hong Shaqiang was actually also to test the waters.

At this point, without hesitation, he immediately took out part of the basic supplies stored in the Space Ring—namely wood, stone, and the like.

All together, it amounted to roughly 1,000 units, which he then traded entirely to Hong Shaqiang.

As for rare materials such as food and weapons, he still kept them inside the Space Ring.

Basic Supplies, while also necessities for Lin Yifan, are not difficult to gather.

Even if Hong Shaqiang betrayed Loyalty and consumed all of those supplies, it would not be considered a major loss.

Being able to discern a person's character this way is also a good thing.

After clearing out the Space Ring, Lin Yifan then stuffed the crocodile carcass inside.

Moreover, he deliberately left some space in the Space Ring, so that if he later encountered something good underwater, he wouldn't miss it.
