Chapter 95: Disaster Forecast

Having nothing to do, Lin Yifan opened the chat channel.

But he discovered that the chat channel was in utter chaos.

"It's over, it's over, a heavy rain is pouring here; if this continues, my Shelter will be flooded!"

"Don't bring it up, my Shelter is already flooded, and I have no idea why—there was no rain last night, yet this morning a Heavy Rain Disaster began. What should I do?"

"Didn't Lin Yifan the boss say the second disaster would be a Heavy Rain Disaster? Could it have already begun?"

"Wasn't the Heavy Rain Disaster supposed to come the day after tomorrow? How is it here today? I was counting on Harvest Double, planning to gather supplies over the next two days and figure out how to handle the Heavy Rain Disaster! Now what's the point of playing?"

"That bastard Lin Yifan must have deliberately given the wrong time for the Heavy Rain Disaster so we'd all get screwed; everyone, never trust him again!"

"You upstairs, what nonsense are you talking about? When has Lin Yifan the boss ever deceived us? He said the Heavy Rain Disaster would be the day after tomorrow, so it must be then. As for the current rain, it's at most an appetizer and won't truly flood us. Everyone, think carefully about how to deal with the real Heavy Rain Disaster when it finally arrives!"

…

Did it actually start a heavy rain?

Lin Yifan looked at the messages from everyone, and a flash of astonishment instantly crossed his face.

Because it wasn't raining here, and when he checked the weather forecast earlier, he thought it was the calm before the storm!

How is it raining over there for everyone?!

Moreover, it appears that, except for his spot, all other places are raining, with varying intensity.

But on further thought it's quite normal; during the last two days before the previous Mosquito Swarm Disaster, there were minor mosquito swarm attacks on Shelters.

Like a pre‑warning before a disaster, many people back then suffered greatly because they lacked protection, and some even lost their lives because of it.

Overall, the dead were a minority; it was basically just a lesson learned.

In that case, the current heavy rain is probably also a pre‑warning before the disaster.

The only thing Lin Yifan can't figure out is why there's no heavy rain here.

Could it be due to the Water‑Fixing Pearl?

At that moment, Lin Yifan saw that many people were @‑mentioning him in the chat channel.

"Lin Yifan the boss, can you see our messages? If you can, give us a sign quickly! Everyone is about to give up!"

"Yeah, yeah! Boss, come out quickly, think of a way to save us! If this continues, my Shelter will be submerged!"

"You people are really funny; have you forgotten what happened last night? When the boss was being blackened, none of you spoke up, each of you hid like a turtle. Now you're in trouble and just beg for help—what right do we have to help you?"

"Lin Yifan still hasn't spoken, surely he doesn't want to help you; you should join my Heaven and Earth Society, and we can work together to get through this difficulty!"

"Exactly, as long as everyone joins the Heaven and Earth Society, we'll definitely find a way to help you; stop trusting that cold‑blooded, heartless Lin Yifan!"

…

Lin Yifan truly didn't expect that, even at this stage, the Heaven and Earth Society hadn't disbanded and even dared to flaunt themselves before him, probably assuming reality can't kill them.

However, at this moment, he's too lazy to argue with these people.

Because his head is pounding right now, pondering how to keep more Survivors alive.

After all, although these Survivors are opportunists, they serve as the metric for his Disaster Task Ranking, essentially his mission monsters.

Therefore, no matter what, more Survivors must be kept alive!

However, up to now, Lin Yifan has only obtained a Water‑Fixing Pearl and has not acquired any items to resist the Heavy Rain Disaster.

Logically, the Survival Realm cannot deny people a way out, so each time a disaster arrives, there must be corresponding items.

Just like the previous Mosquito Swarm Disaster, he obtained the Strong Mosquito Repellent Formula early and could confirm that upgrading to a Level‑2 Shelter would let him get through safely.

Wait!

Level‑2 Shelter!

Right! Since a Level‑2 Shelter can resist the Mosquito Swarm Disaster, does that mean a Level‑3 Shelter can resist the Heavy Rain Disaster?

Lin Yifan's eyes instantly brightened, and he quickly posted in the chat channel:

"Everyone, I regret to tell you that up to now I haven't obtained any item to resist the Heavy Rain Disaster, but based on the previous disaster's defense, if you can upgrade your Shelter to Level‑3, there's a high probability you'll safely get through this disaster!"

"Of course, I'll do my best to find items to resist the Heavy Rain Disaster, but I want everyone to understand that in this world you can only rely on yourself. I can help you once or twice, but not for a lifetime. To truly survive in this world, you ultimately have to rely on yourselves."

When Lin Yifan said that, the entire chat channel erupted again, with countless messages rolling in.

"What? Upgrade to a Level‑3 Shelter? Are you kidding? I could only reach Level‑2 because everyone helped me; now you want me to go to Level‑3—what do I use to upgrade? It's sheer fantasy!"

"If upgrading to a Level‑3 Shelter can resist the Heavy Rain Disaster, then there's a glimmer of hope. I'm almost gathering enough materials; if I keep at it, maybe I can upgrade before the disaster strikes!"

"But that's way too hard! I haven't even collected a tenth of the materials, and today there's another heavy rain—where can I find the materials? It's basically denying us any chance to survive!"

…

The chat channel was filled with wails, but Lin Yifan understood, as asking everyone to upgrade their Shelters to Level‑3 is indeed no easy task.

However, if there's no other way to resist the Heavy Rain Disaster, this is the only method; if you can't achieve it, you have no choice but to try.

Lin Yifan believes everyone can understand this!

Nevertheless, he still wanted to comfort everyone, but at that moment a flood of messages suddenly filled the chat channel.

"Why are you all panicking? In the last disaster task, Lin Yifan, as the number one in our District, surely got a huge benefit; otherwise why would he work so hard to help us resist the disaster? So this time, we just wait for him to help us!"

"Exactly, there's no such thing as a free lunch; if he puts in that much effort to help everyone, he must have gotten something in return, so he ought to give back to us!"

"Lin Yifan, come out, give us the materials! Quickly let us upgrade our Shelters to Level‑3! Otherwise we'll never trust you again!"

"Exactly, hand over the materials quickly…"

…
