Chapter 465: Eclipsari, Consecrated Scion of the Void
This evolution was going more than great so far and it was time to get to the next form. Gently diving downward, Thalion shifted to the crippled Eclipsari and landed on a little ice shelf that had formed under where Thalion had circled in the air before.
The area immediately went dark from Thalion’s aura. He was so caught up in evolution that he didn’t even think about whether someone would see him. Such a big wyvern, and now the aura of darkness wasn’t that hard to miss.
Thalion was fully unbothered and even hummed a little rhyme in the dark voice of the crippled Eclipsari.
"Eenie, meenie, minor tweak… guess who evolves this week...”
Then he triggered the evolution. Similar to the evolution of the Tidecaller Serpent he had only one evolution option. Not that he needed more.
Eclipsari, Consecrated Scion of the Void (Divine)
The Eclipsari were once insects that had enough of being ruled by their queen. In contrast to most insects, who think that numbers are more important than strong fighters, the Eclipsari believe in the exact opposite. Only the strongest are allowed to survive. In the void they hid from their queen while getting stronger and stronger. The void isn’t a place for the weak and even most gods fear it and the creatures that dwell in it. Eclipsari are strong, fast, durable and have a very high affinity for darkness. They are the strongest of the strongest and nothing shall stand in their way. As Consecrated Scion of the Void you have a few additional mental abilities. You can feel and inflict fear in the ones around you, strengthen you more and more. You may have been crippled once, but not any longer. Each level grants 30 points to Strength, Toughness, and Agility, along with 20 points to Fate.
Thalion found that this was an interesting text. His form grew until he reached three and a half meters. His muscles bulged under his dark chitin armor, but not too much.
He now had four eyes, every single one an orb of pure darkness. The second set of eyes was a bit on the side, behind and above the first set.
The darkness had intensified, not letting any light through, but he still saw as if the sun was still shining down on him.
The effect was now far greater, spanning over seventy meters, and that was with him having his aura partly contained.
The fully grown Eclipsari looked where the wounds had been before and began to laugh, the voice deep as if it came from the abyssal depths. From his mouth and skin darkness was constantly rising.
“Oh this is the best evolution I ever had,” Thalion chuckled, relief and joy filling him as he felt his new power.
Like the other forms this one was special. The two more eyes gave him almost full-round vision and he just felt so strong.
Now he also noticed that the spikes growing from his shoulders and upper arms had grown a tiny bit too.
Come on, show me another set of divine skills. This isn’t getting old,Thalion cheered on the inside.
Claws of Living Darkness (Divine)
Pure darkness gathers around the claws of the true Eclipsari, increasing their lethality by large margins. Even light skills are unable to weaken the effect. On slashing you can activate the skill a second time to release five pitch-black moonlight arcs of darkness that destroy everything in their way. Wounds inflicted with this skill resist healing magic.
Bite of the Void Scion (Divine)
Liquid darkness gathers in your mouth before you bite down. The force of the bite is strong enough to pierce a dragon’s scales. Wounds inflicted with this skill will fester, weakening the target more and more.

Sanctum of the Living Darkness (Divine)
The living darkness recognizes its chosen and sanctifies them. Through silent consecration, the void anchors itself to the user’s very being, reinforcing their existence at its core. Flesh grows denser, spirit grows heavier, and presence grows immeasurably more oppressive. Every aspect—strength, speed, resilience, perception, will—is elevated. Attacks that strike the user encounter resistance not only from body, but from reality itself. Physical force disperses, magic falters, and hostile influence struggles to take hold, as if the world hesitates to unmake what the darkness has sanctified.
Shadow Step (Divine)
Surround yourself with converging shadows as you dash forward in a single direction, your form dissolving into living darkness for a fleeting instant. During the step, your body becomes intangible, slipping between layers of light and void. Obstacles blur, hostile attacks pass through fading afterimages, and your true position remains unreadable until you reemerge.
Tyrannic Core of Living Darkness (Divine)
Inside you darkness lives. Once an elemental, its core has changed into an elongated black prism fueling your whole body with darkness. Darkness is far more than just corroding and dangerous. In the dark evil lies and waits for the right moment to consume. Emotions like fear, pain, horror, and hopelessness feed your tyrannic core, making it more and more powerful. All these emotions will be amplified through your aura and your darkness. This also includes shadows in the area.
Ever Devouring Darkness (Divine)
Darkness rises from the shadows around you, suppressing the area. Those touched by the darkness shall be consumed and turned into darkness themselves. This does not only count for the living but for the undead as well. Affinities and skills will be consumed by the ever-growing darkness. From your body and mouth darkness is constantly rising.
Purity Above All (Divine)
Eclipsari are not a race that makes compromises. You embraced the darkness and with every second of your existence you integrate it more and more. Automatically absorb shadows in close proximity to become far stronger. While close to darkness your body tempering will constantly improve as you grow stronger and stronger.
True Eclipsar’s Intuition (Divine)
A manifestation of pure predatory instinct, this ability allows an Eclipsari to sense the flow of battle before it even unfolds. Their intuition transcends mortal perception, sharpening into an almost prophetic awareness. This skill grants an innate understanding of danger, deception, and opportunity, enabling the user to react before threats fully manifest. Beyond combat, True Eclipsar’s Intuition enhances perception on a grander scale, allowing the user to glimpse fragments of potential futures shrouded in darkness.
Umbral Convergence (Divine)
Umbral Convergence allows the user to take control of the shadows within their vision and infuse them with power. Within this empowered gloom, abilities may manifest from any connected shadow as though cast directly by the user. Distance is diminished where darkness persists; strikes may emerge from beneath, behind, or above an opponent without warning. The converged shadows may also be shaped at will—forming blades, tendrils, restraints, or hardened constructs of condensed umbra. As shadow density increases, so too does its potency. The darker the environment, the greater the convergence.

Thalion nodded while reading through the new skills. They were a lot more complex than the skills of his other forms. Not only because of the descriptions, but also because the effects were overlapping, with one skill affecting the other passively by giving the darkness additional abilities.
The only thing that was completely missing was gaining stats by eating something, but since body tempering seemed to be more important than stats, it should be all good.
This form, like the others, was a real banger, and this time the elemental seemed to have evolved with him. Now it was a prism of darkness positioned exactly in the middle of his chest, very well protected by his flesh, muscles, and chitin armor.
In retrospect, Thalion also had to admit that the risk had been worth it. When the forms never got weaker than this, he was looking upon a bright future.
