Chapter 20: Teaching in the Hidden Leaf, the System Says I'm Tsunade's Student, Chapter 11
Kurenai Yuhi picked up the sake flask and poured two cups, asking, "Why did you choose to become a teacher?"
In the ninja world, the most respected profession is naturally that of a ninja, especially the strong ones among them.
Being an academy teacher isn't considered all that glorious.
In the ingrained perception of many ninjas, only average-strength Chunin would run off to become academy teachers.
"Driven by interest."
Kitazawa said casually.
"Is that so?"
Kurenai Yuhi nodded and said, "But you are indeed well-suited to be a teacher."
"Have you been working as a private tutor this whole time?"
Kitazawa flipped the pork belly, and a savory aroma filled the air.
"Mm."
Kurenai Yuhi paused and said, "But I still have to do missions if the village assigns them."
Besides being teachers at the ninja academy, ninjas must perform missions regularly.
Of course, the higher-ups in the Hidden Leaf have the autonomy to choose.
For example, Tsunade.
After developing hemophobia, she had been wandering the ninja world and gambling, even dragging Shizune along.
But she wouldn't return to the village, nor would she take missions, and the Hidden Leaf Village could do nothing about it.
Jiraiya was similar to her.
"Come find me whenever you're free."
Kitazawa chuckled, thinking of the mission regarding Yakumo Kurama, and said, "I can help you teach that student."
According to the original plot, it would take Kurenai Yuhi several years, with the help of Naruto Uzumaki and others, to resolve Yakumo Kurama's problem.
"Then I'll trouble you, Kitazawa."
Kurenai Yuhi didn't refuse.
"It's settled then. Come find me if you run into any problems."
Kitazawa raised his glass and said.
Whether he could complete the mission depended on this.
Kurenai Yuhi was stunned for a moment; looking at his sincere expression, a strange feeling flashed through her heart.
She always felt that Kitazawa's attitude toward her today was a bit different.
Could it be... Kurenai Yuhi quickly cast this illusion to the back of her mind.
Because it didn't fit the Kitazawa she knew.
In her view, Kitazawa was gentle to everyone, but given his looks, the fact that he didn't have a girlfriend meant he had absolutely no interest in that.
"Cheers!"
Kurenai Yuhi raised her glass, clinked it against his, and downed it in one go. ===== CHAPTER 22 =====
