Chapter 21: Drunken Kurenai

The Uchiha clan compound.

"I'm home, Mom!"

Sasuke Uchiha called out as he took off his shoes.

"Welcome home, Sasuke."

Mikoto Uchiha's gentle voice rang out quickly.

"Where's big brother?"

Sasuke Uchiha walked into the living room and asked impatiently.

"Why do you look for your brother every time you get home?"

Mikoto Uchiha reached out to pat his head and asked with a smile.

"I have important business with him!"

Sasuke Uchiha pouted, emphasizing this with some displeasure.

"Your brother isn't back yet."

Seeing his adorable expression, the smile on Mikoto Uchiha's face grew even wider.

"Then I'll wait for him."

Sasuke Uchiha sat on the sofa.

"I'm going to cook."

Mikoto Uchiha took two steps, then suddenly remembered something, turned back, and asked, "Didn't you go to school today? How does it feel?"

"Ninja house-playing; I can't get excited about it."

Sasuke Uchiha said proudly, "I'll be just like my brother and take first place at the ninja academy!"

"Good luck!"

Mikoto Uchiha clenched her fists and waved them.

After a while, the sound of the door opening was heard.

"Brother!"

Sasuke Uchiha immediately stood up and went to the door.

"Sasuke."

A gentle smile appeared on Itachi Uchiha's face.

"Is our Uchiha clan not as powerful as it used to be?"

Sasuke Uchiha asked directly.

"..."

Itachi Uchiha opened his mouth and fell into silence.

Had even Sasuke noticed?

The Uchiha clan was indeed at a life-or-death juncture.

"I had a Hidden Leaf history class today, and the teacher told the story of the village's founding."

Sasuke Uchiha said with great wonder, "Back then, the Uchiha clan had as much prestige as the Senju clan."

A look of realization appeared on Itachi Uchiha's face, and he felt a sense of relief in his heart.

He didn't want Sasuke Uchiha to get involved in the struggle between the Uchiha clan and the Hidden Leaf Village.

"Your teacher is pretty good if he's teaching Uchiha history."

Itachi Uchiha smiled and said.

"Why do you say that?"

Sasuke Uchiha asked, puzzled.

He didn't know that the Uchiha clan was nearing the point where everyone was calling for their downfall.

These academy teachers avoided the topic like the plague; usually, they would just gloss over that part of history.

"It's nothing."

Itachi Uchiha shook his head, not explaining.

"Will the Uchiha clan ever return to how it was?"

Sasuke Uchiha asked with great anticipation.

"It will."

Itachi Uchiha said with a firm tone.

"That's true."

Sasuke Uchiha said with a grin, "With you here, brother, the future of the Uchiha clan will definitely be even more prosperous."

"Mm."

Itachi Uchiha was stunned for a moment, then nodded and said, "I will put the Uchiha clan back on the right track."

The night grew deeper.

Two figures appeared on the deserted streets of the Hidden Leaf Village.

"You... you're drunk... drunk again. You're such a loser!"

Kurenai Yuhi looked at Kitazawa, her beautiful face as red as peach blossoms.

"It's you who's drunk; I'm not."

Kitazawa corrected her.

He had one bottle, but Kurenai Yuhi had three.

"Then... then why is your face red?"

Kurenai Yuhi swayed as she asked with a loud laugh.

"Careful."

Kitazawa quickly stepped forward and supported her waist.

"I'm... I'm fine."

Kurenai Yuhi leaned into his arms.

The smell of alcohol mixed with her fragrance wafted up, and Kitazawa subconsciously looked at her.

The two were very close; he could clearly see her fair neck and the curve formed by the black mesh lining at her collar.

"I'm... I'm home. Next time... next time I'll treat you again."

Kurenai Yuhi patted his chest and suddenly laughed, "You're quite sturdy, aren't you?"

"It seems you really are drunk. Do you need me to take you inside?"

Kitazawa twitched his mouth and asked.

"I'm not drunk!"

Kurenai Yuhi seemed to have triggered a counter-mechanism and immediately said, "If you don't believe me, come inside with me, and we'll keep drinking!"

"Alright, alright, you're not drunk."

Kitazawa said in a tone used for coaxing a child.

"Hmph!"

Kurenai Yuhi took out her keys and opened the door.

Under the dim light, the outline of her perfect figure was revealed.

"Kitazawa."

Kurenai Yuhi looked at him, her face pressed against the door, and said with a smile, "See you tomorrow."

"Mm."

Kitazawa nodded.
