Chapter 14: You Wonder If I'm the Greatest Waaagh!

~7 min read 1,336 words

Toxic black clouds crowd the sky.

In a world of cracked, dry sand, rolling yellow sand is constantly blown by whirlwinds.

Outside Nest City, an Imperial Army legion all in Black Uniform circles a multitude of vehicles standing on the ground.

Until the passage behind them was violently blown shut by Rebel Forces, sealing themselves inside Nest City and leaving Xisi stranded outside, the soldiers wore bewildered, clueless expressions.

At the center of the legion, Xisi gazed at the Limanlus before him, feeling somewhat amazed that the Rebel Forces leader named DuJiao had actually managed to get a tank for him.

At this moment, although Xisi's legion still cannot match the Star Realm Army in heavy weapons, its equipment level already far outclasses other Planetary Defense Forces.

A gust of yellow sand blows through the crowd.

Through the whistling cold wind, a faint Green Skin battle roar drifts from the sandstorm.

A soldier grabs Phosphorus fuel and uses Black Uniform to completely cover the tank's previously blasphemous Rebel Forces markings.

Behind the Limanlus, there are two Chimera Walking Tanks.

At this time, the new crew of the Chimera Walking Tanks is hurriedly familiarizing themselves, but the Hundredfold Amplification that Xisi could wield to deliver heavy fire that pierced Nest City vanished once Xisi stopped personally participating.

Now the Walking Tank only has its crew's Hundredfold experience growth; otherwise it is just a normal Walking Tank.

Nevertheless, Xisi feels little regret, because after the soldiers finished cleaning and repainting the Limanlus, Xisi entered it as the driver.

Then a beast-like engine roar thundered, suddenly howling across the parched ground.

This gave Ana, who had just finished inspecting the tank, a start, because in her memory the Limanlus's engine could never have such terrifying power.

Even with a bit more boost, it could serve as the engine of a light knight Mech!

At the same time, a motorcycle roar came from the other side; Bunoke rode a motorcycle, carrying several soldiers with Communicators on their backs, racing in from afar.

The massive tires kicked up rolling yellow sand on the gravel‑strewn ground.

Not daring to approach the Black tank directly, Bunoke stopped his motorcycle upon seeing Xisi and walked briskly toward him on foot.

Raising his hand in salute, Bunoke's face flushed:

"All supplies have been loaded onto the cargo trucks; although the food is a bit less than planned, the fuel tanks are all topped up, and we even added double the amount."

Xisi, who had been familiarizing himself with the Limanlus, halted upon hearing this, turned from the driver's seat to look back at the now completely cut‑off Nest City.

DuJiao is deeply afraid that he might stay outside Nest City with food and drink and not leave!

At this moment there's no time to waste lingering at Nest City, after all no one knows when Kaerjia will arrive.

Xisi must reach the safe zone before the various lunatics of Alert Star start mistaking extermination weapons for conventional arms.

Without a comment, Xisi turned around.

In the distance, an endless sandstorm rises straight into the sky, its Green Skin battle roars growing louder; facing all this, Xisi lightly pressed the throttle.

The Limanlus let out a booming roar; gazing at the rolling yellow sand awaiting him in the distance and the densely packed soldiers loyal to him beside him, Xisi put on the driver's headset, raised his hand and waved forward.

Bunoke's motorcycle squad moved ahead first, charging into the rolling yellow sand as scouts.

Then the Limanlus carved two trenches in the yellow earth; Xisi's Hundredfold‑amplified tank led at the front, with a Chimera Walking Tank on each side behind it.

Further back were a mix of numerous supply trucks, a massive force equivalent to twenty Infantry Regiments.

Because all are painted in Black Uniform, in this sand‑filled, parched world Xisi's legion resembles a black tide covering the ground.

Then the black tide, accompanied by engine roars, surged into the rolling yellow sand.

The yellow sand remains; the barren world outside Nest City falls into desolation once more.

So quiet that only a whimpering world can be heard, as if this human legion had never existed before.

But after an unknown amount of time, within the sandstorm that once only roared with yellow sand, a earth‑shaking, world‑echoing Waaagh sounded.

Flames first pierced the yellow sand, followed immediately by a violent Hundredfold tank cannon blast!

Raise the hand, fire.

With the sandstorm limiting visibility to only a few dozen meters, amid the distant swirling yellow sand, a Green Skin high‑speed motorcycle rolls and charges into the crowd.

Nearby recruits instinctively dodge, yet the fierce explosion still claimed the nearest few people.

Xisi pops half his body out of the driver's seat of the Limanlus, bracing against the wind while holding the headset, pulling the sidearm forward and shouting continuously through the headset.

Nearby, the partially hidden Chimera in the sandstorm continuously fires explosive shells, and two fire whips spray from the tank's side turret, drawing fiery ribbons across the yellow sand.

"Do not engage in melee, do not use over‑shoulder throws; use ranged weapons as much as possible to eliminate these Alien Forms!"

Another shot takes down a roaring, massive Green Skin, and Xisi loudly orders the soldiers beside him.

Simultaneously, his command is broadcast through the tank's Communicator to every Infantry Regiment under his command.

Now the entire legion, with Xisi's Limanlus as the spearhead, concentrates fire as much as possible, pouring forward through the yellow sand, knocking the charging ferocious Green Skins to the ground one after another.

Occasionally, barrages fire from the opposite side, often striking a few soldiers who cannot dodge, but compared to the casualties caused by Xisi, the mortal versus Green Skin losses surprisingly favor the mortals.

This killing also fuels the Green Skins' increasingly fervent battle desire; as Xisi slays more Green Skins, the Green Skins emerging from the yellow sand not only fail to diminish but actually increase!

Guns, tracks, Waaagh.

After an unknown amount of time marching through the sandstorm, Xisi feels his entire world seems to contain only these three sounds.

The Green Skins seem endless, the Limanlus's artillery roars without pause, and its tracks are slick with flesh and blood.

Until Xisi swaps magazines again, looks up to continue picking off any threatening Green Skin, the yellow sand that once covered the entire world suddenly vanishes with a gust of fierce wind!

The world suddenly clears, not because the yellow sand was blown away by some strange force, but because Xisi actually, with the Green Skin, pierced through the entire sandstorm!

Cheering shouts of exhilarated soldiers rise around him; visibility improves, and humanity begins to unleash even more lethal firepower against the Green Skins.

And after Xisi casually sniped the head of a Green Skin leader, the Green Skins finally lose control, turning to flee toward the sea of sand.

This scene further inspires the mortal soldiers, but their cheers do not last long; a motorcycle, moving far faster than before, pursues the fleeing Green Skins.

"Regiment Commander, why did you rush out alone?!"

Bunoke, having seen, quickly asked the officers beside Xisi, but the officers just stared at Xisi chasing the Green Skin, their faces full of incomprehensible bewilderment.

"Regiment Commander says... he wants to go find a Green Skin to ask a question..."

Bunoke: "......???"

If it weren't for Bunoke watching these people all with the same expression, he would even think his ears had been filled with too much sand, producing auditory hallucinations!

As a group of people stared in astonishment at the distant Xisi charging out, everyone could only wonder what problem their wise and mighty Group Leader would have to go ask the Green Skin about!

And in front, where no one could hear, Xisi surrounded a group of panicked Green Skin kids with his motorcycle, then, under the terrified gaze of a group of Green Skins, Xisi pointed at himself:

"Say, do you guys think I'm the most Waaagh!!!"
