Chapter 64: Delivering Supplies, Delivering Warships

~8 min read 1,440 words

Oumia No. 3.

The gaseous giant slowly covers the distant starlight.

Only a brief daylight lasting a few Terra Times remained before fading, and the workers who had labored for eighteen Terra Times straightened their weary backs, took their meager share of pitiful starch, and turned toward Nest City.

In Nest City, another group of workers who had just finished resting, driven by starch and soldiers, entered the construction site.

Unlike the dead‑weight atmosphere of previous days, today many workers kept looking up at the ceiling.

Because at this moment in Orbit, a destroyer and four light escort ships are quietly docking.

At the same time, a fleet of transport vessels continuously shuttles between Tower Top and Orbit, delivering a steady stream of supplies to Xisi.

At Tower Top now.

Kailuo looks refreshed; he not only dons a brand‑new uniform but also, unusually, washes himself clean inside and out.

Even his beard is meticulously groomed by a mechanical servant, bringing his whole condition to the optimum.

At this moment he stands before the Xisi Office, facing Xisi behind a massive desk dozens of meters away, his eyes having, countless times, widened in astonishment while scrutinizing the other.

He pays no heed to the bewildered gaze his apprentice throws from behind.

As one of only three beings in the entire galaxy who know Xisi's identity, Kailuo feels that the Xisi quietly seated behind the desk, checking a list, seems to emanate Divine Light.

After all, such bathing and beard‑grooming actions occur only when returning to the family headquarters to report, meeting the supreme sect head; not even navy admirals or Star Realm Army Commanders, and at most an Astat would merely change clothes.

As for the ordinary world's planetary Governors, Kailuo has never taken them seriously.

Yet now, looking at the opposite side—a figure who isn't even a planetary Governor, merely a Star Realm Army Commander of an abandoned satellite—his master treats him with such solemnity; the apprentice, besides recognizing the young commander's extraordinary status, is also intensely curious about Xisi.

Of course, also exceedingly respectful and cautious.

Snap~

The thick stack of lists lands on the table with a light thud.

The apprentice hurriedly regains composure, while Kailuo steps a little forward, bending his already lowered waist even lower.

Observing the humility of the Merchant Ronin below, Xisi, faced with a supply that could feed billions for three months at once, as well as an entire ship of fresh fruits, vegetables, and even a whole refrigerated live cow from Terra on the list, truly perceives the weight of the opposing family.

Even his gaze toward the humbled Kailuo below contains hints of slight displeasure and a touch of apprehension.

Are these luxurious foods merely to curry favor with him?

No, Kailuo is using this to demonstrate his family's strength to Xisi!

Spanning most of the galaxy, sending you a live cow from Terra carries far more weight than the cow itself!

Not refusing these doorstep supplies, Xisi hands most of the list to Youwa, tasking Youwa with organizing personnel to receive them; picking up the final list, he faces the already‑docked destroyer and light escorts, reconfirms that the list contains only ships and no navigators, and a further displeasure toward these merchants flickers in his eyes.

"The cruiser needs to be reassigned, so it cannot be delivered now; I understand that," he says.

"But why do you deliver the ships without the navigators?"

Xisi naturally knows these merchants aim to extract more profit from him rather than act out of benevolence, so he sees no need for any courtesy.

When faced with Xisi's questioning, Kailuo shows not a hint of resentment but even more respect, reciting the prepared excuse:

"The navigator was supposed to arrive with the ship, but we feared the Lord's defensive pressure, so we gritted our teeth and sent the ship first, with the navigator following shortly after."

Xisi slightly lifts his eyes, remarking that after all this talk about the missing navigator, they still claim to be looking out for him.

He also doesn't bother wasting words on matters already decided, handing this warship list to Youwa, and adding to Ana on the other side:

"The parts and materials needed to fully repair the Sword‑class are already sufficient in my view; promptly finish the Sword‑class repairs, and thereafter I need every warship deployed into battle."

Ana nods, immediately turns with Youwa to begin work; then Xisi, facing the waiting Kailuo below, though a bit annoyed that the other side used the navigator as a card against him, looks for a moment, lets out a slight sigh, and then…

A friendly expression appears on his face.

【7】 "Thank you for your timely aid."

Thank you for your help in the snow.

Xisi smiles as he speaks, for it is an unmistakable gesture of investment goodwill, and regarding such actions Xisi can only display a kindly acceptance.

Otherwise, if anyone later tries to invest in him, recalling Kailuo's response would make them hesitate.

And Kailuo, seeing Xisi's receptive attitude, immediately shows great joy of a mission accomplished on his face.

His already humble posture nearly collapses to the ground.

"It is an honor for our Falomoer family to serve Lord Xisi."

Xisi, smiling, raises his hand to signal that such courtesy isn't needed, and facing what seems to be a reciprocal flattery tug‑of‑war, disliking such adulation, quickly looks at Bunoke:

"Have the kitchen prepare a banquet; I will host Mr. Kailuo."

Bunoke nods and, decisively, turns to leave.

But just as he turns, Xisi suddenly raises his hand:

"Also, that live cow—have the kitchen slaughter and cook it, combine it with other fresh meat, and distribute it to the Black Watch."

Bunoke, upon hearing, simply nods decisively, while Kailuo's smiling face freezes in sudden astonishment.

He slightly lifts his eyes, cautiously glancing at Xisi to confirm he isn't joking, then Kailuo withdraws his gaze,

after all, that live cow was personally approved and sent by someone from the Solar Star Region, and Kailuo has never eaten such a thing in his life.

He thought he could savor it with Xisi, but Xisi instead handed it all to his own veteran troops.

After speaking, Xisi stands, trying to appear genuinely enthusiastic, and invites Kailuo to the banquet.

Soon, as Oumia No. 3 moves to the opposite side of the gas planet, the starlight again illuminates the world; in a grand hall at Tower Top, Xisi, accompanied by Kailuo, Daiweiluo and other key retainers, begins an exquisite banquet prepared entirely with fresh ingredients.

Before this utterly lavish banquet, Bunoke, a native of Alert Star who has never seen the world, almost instantly gets into the spirit.

He drinks until his nose turns bright red, constantly bragging loudly with Kailuo.

Kailuo can only cope on one hand while trying every way to get closer to Xisi on the other.

Until Bunoke mentions the Spirit Race Pirates, Kailuo shows a hint of fear and looks at Bunoke.

"You don't know, I've never seen such a stupid Alien Form."

"They seem really less clever than Green Skin; at least Green Skin knows to give a shove before charging."

"They just jump right in front of us, then line up to die."

"But it's odd—how has this death‑loving Alien Form managed to survive until now?"

"Bunoke, with eyes that truly couldn't understand, and certain he wasn't causing trouble for himself, let out a breath as Kailuo did, while a bitter smile he couldn't suppress no matter what appeared on his face."

"He didn't dare speak, wore a bitter smile, and muttered inwardly:"

"\"Could it be that if they had known early about you Demon Gods, even if they beat them to death, they still wouldn't come! \""

"Kailuo finished his inner remark, saw Bunoke finally about to lose composure, and hurried forward to prepare to flatter Xisi again."

"Only the once‑bright window, the sky darkened again."

"Kailuo thought it was the gas planet blocking the light again, but Xisi, who had been earnestly enjoying the food, suddenly stopped, and even the drunken Bunoke suddenly opened bright eyes without any trace of intoxication."

"Kailuo was puzzled by the sudden shift in atmosphere in the Dadian, and then, as everyone turned their gaze toward the window."

"Xisi withdrew his gaze, swallowed the last steak, and set down his knife and fork."

"At that moment the window opened, the outside was filled with overwhelming alarms, and in the distance a star already hung high in the sky, but the thing obscuring the light was not a gas planet—it was an endless shadow constantly approaching!"

"The Tairen swarm has finally arrived......"
