Chapter 65: If Others Don't Understand, Does That Mean I Still Don't?
Cannon fire that spreads across the heavens.
The dense barrage strikes the rain‑like Terran Air‑drop Spores, detonating a huge plume of sticky flesh pulp directly over Xisi's head.
The Tower Top, the platform with the best view.
Xisi watches the sky above his head, which is still relatively safe, pulls his gaze back from the anti‑aircraft cannon's woven fire net, and looks toward the farther heavens.
There, the Terran Fleet, casting endless shadows over the ground, is lowering massive tentacles from space, desperately sucking the already scarce biomass of Oumia No. 3.
Beneath the distant sky, the air‑drop spore pods continue without pause.
After these pods hit the ground, they ultimately coalesce into a vast sea of Terran Insect Tide.
Now this planet‑wide Insect Tide is launching relentless assaults from every direction against Xisi.
Across the endless trench‑filled land, countless lasers and cannon fire roar in every corner of the front line.
The cannons' roar flattens every trench filled with the insect swarm into level ground, taking with it the last remaining defenders who have not yet fled.
Then, the positions just cleared by cannon fire are re‑occupied before humanity can retake them, as successive waves of insects fill them again.
Then comes the next trench, the next barrage.
"The fleet has hidden within the Gas Planet Ring and can launch a strike to cover our retreat at any moment."
"Repair work on the Sword‑class is progressing smoothly; it will be fully restored by tomorrow at the latest."
Youwa's hurried voice sounds from behind Xisi, and as she draws near, her eyes catch the scene on the ground beneath them.
But seeing the raging insect tide, composed entirely of chitin, sweeping over distant towering mountains, Youwa's complexion instantly turns pale.
She forces herself to pull back her gaze, trying not to look directly at the front line of this raging tide.
Youwa, facing the outwardly calm Xisi, grits her teeth and speaks:
"Has the navigator promised by those Merchant Ronin not arrived yet?"
Xisi finally reacts, turns to look at the terrified, desperate Youwa, then calmly withdraws his gaze:
"Hold out to the end; if it becomes impossible, we'll board and blind‑jump."
Xisi does not place all his hope on these unreliable merchants, and Youwa, hearing this, though blind‑jumping is extremely risky, at least it would temporarily escape the terrifying insects, and her complexion improves slightly.
She then glances again at the colossal beast casting shadows from the sky, takes a deep breath, and turns away:
"I'll go check the cannonball supplies again."
Ignoring Youwa, Xisi remains standing in a prominent high place, watching the front lines below constantly being breached, his face outwardly conveying calm.
But deep inside, his heart begins to bleed; after all, even his own Black Watch has already lost several members to exhaustion.
While Xisi endures as best he can, a violent A-space Fluctuation suddenly tears a rift in the void far from Oumia No. 3.
Soon, dozens of warships appear, including Asitate Battle Shuttles and even large cruiser‑class vessels.
At the fleet's center, a battleship‑cruiser bearing the Judgment Hall Emblem hangs in place.
Yet this heavily armed fleet now watches the Terran Fleet, whose scale has reached tens of thousands, from a distance as far as possible, prepared for immediate withdrawal.
On the Bridge of the battleship‑cruiser, Kailuo, cautious and bent over, stands behind a tall mortal clad in Refined Power Armor.
The mortal ahead, covered in Alien Forms, gazes at the massive Terran Fleet and the tiny Oumia No. 3 beneath it, his brow involuntarily furrowing.
After a long while, a cold voice echoes across the Bridge:
"You mean there's an all‑mortal unit fighting a Terran Insect Tide of this magnitude?"
Fanluosi's voice is cold and ruthless, and everyone around—mortal crew, Zhongsi Storm Soldiers, and even Asitate units from various warbands—show respect toward it.
Kailuo, being questioned, notes that Fanluosi never even glances at him, yet he still displays heightened caution.
Carefully stepping half a pace forward, Kailuo softens his voice as much as possible:
"Yes, Honorable Judge, please trust me; for your plan, you will need such a mortal unit to serve you."
Having received Kailuo's confirmation again, though he has not yet seen the situation, Fanluosi can't help but glance toward the distant tiny Oumia No. 3.
Even those around him, especially the Asitate, cast surprised looks.
After all, a Terran Insect Tide of this scale would drown even the Asitate.
Now Kailuo tells them that such a swarm is being blocked by a group of mortals.
Fanluosi silently calculates combat power in his mind, confirming that if such strength truly exists, it would greatly aid his upcoming plan, and then asks the final question:
"Then how do I make them cooperate with me?"
Kailuo finally smiles, realizing that the half‑information he gave has earned a response from Fanluosi.
Kailuo, with a smile:
"They lack a navigator; as long as Lord Fanluosi uses a navigator as a bargaining chip, they will naturally join your plan."
After speaking, recalling that he hadn't revealed that Xisi is the other half of the Subspace force, Kailuo pauses, then adds:
"Believe me, with the aid of this planet's lord, your plan will surely succeed."
Fanluosi ignores Kailuo; having secured a bargaining chip with Xisi, he gazes for a long while.
After an unknown number of internal decisions, he suddenly clenches the hands behind his back, looks at Oumia No. 3, and decisively says:
"Dispatch a small fleet to stand by; we don't need many ships, and there's no need to waste any combat power before we reach our destination."
"Also send a signal; I want to meet their commander."
Responses to Fanluosi echo immediately; soon, when Xisi appears on the other side of the screen, his face full of disbelief, Fanluosi, who was about to state his price while sizing Xisi up, suddenly stops as his gaze lands on Xisi.
The entire Bridge falls silent, so that Xisi, facing the unfamiliar Judge across from him, remains for half a day in mute puzzlement, furrowing his brows.
Fanluosi again carefully scans Xisi; his normally indifferent face suddenly, inexplicably, adopts respect!
Then, before speaking, in front of everyone on the ship, including a stunned Kailuo, Fanluosi first offers a bow:
"Lord, please hold on; we will do everything to evacuate you from the surface."
Finishing, Fanluosi turns to the Navy Commander who just organized an old small fleet, and declares resolutely:
"Quick, ready all warships for combat; we need to immediately support Lord Sisi."
The people around were bewildered, and Xisi was also puzzled by this inexplicably enthusiastic Judge.
Until the communications shut down again because of the fierce firefight on Xisi's side, Fanluosi, after confirming that Xisi wasn't watching him, suddenly let out a sigh of relief, a hint of lingering fear easing.
Then, turning his head, and under Kailuo's puzzled stare, he suddenly hoisted him up!
He opened his mouth but didn't say the matter outright; Fanluosi simply glared at Kailuo, who dared to conceal the other half of the news, and snarled:
"I am a Judge; others can't discern Lord Sisi's identity, can I not either?"
Kailuo, confronted with Fanluosi's fury, felt the doubt in his eyes gradually fade, then a careless remorse.
Because in the eyes of those who truly recognize value, the Gilded Silver Armor on Xisi, and the Terror Torture Red Sword at his waist...
are already enough to reveal his identity!
