Chapter 109

For the film *The Thieves*, Lin Nan made many modifications.

Ensemble play, the background is the mainland and Hong Kong.

In this context, the final thing to steal is a national treasure-level cultural relic.

Among the two teams, Andy Lau will be the captain of one of the teams.

Yue Jun knocked on the door and entered the office.

"News from Jackie Chan's side?" Lin Nan put down the script in his hand.

Yue Jun spread his hands, shook his head and said:

"His team negotiated and felt that an ensemble play would affect Big Brother's status, even if it's a protagonist-style core character.

In addition, they felt the pay was lowered too much, not matching his status."

For this result, Lin Nan was mentally prepared.

Just at this time, a call came in, "Jackie Chan?"

"Hey, Big Brother?"

"Haha, Lin Dao, I have to tell you about the movie.

Actually, I want to take it, but there's a big group of people in the company to support. There's really no way, can only wait for next time, but still want to thank you for thinking of me..."

Jackie Chan's call was just right; he deserved to have walked this path for so many years, knowing the principle that if the deal doesn't go through, the friendship remains.

Explaining the reason, on the basis of connecting feelings, he also recommended his son to Lin Nan, saying if there was a suitable role, give him an audition opportunity.

On the phone, everything is easy to talk about.

Lin Nan pondered, if Jackie Chan doesn't work, then change people. The captains of the two teams must at least be of similar status.

Lin Nan had thought about who in the mainland could take the lead in this type of commercial film, but one by one, none had a schedule.

"Go help me contact Liang Jiahui."

Lin Nan said to Yue Jun. The latter agreed and went out.

Some people don't need auditions; like Andy Lau, Liang Jiahui, Lin Nan can imagine the situation during filming in his heart, absolutely qualified.

The *Brotherhood of Blades* crew is now only missing a female lead.

Lighting and photography personnel don't need to be found from outside; use our own people directly.

These people are veterans; transferring from TV series filming to movies is not difficult for them, it's just that the techniques and requirements have changed.

Lu Yang settled for the next best thing; since he couldn't find the best, he chose Yang Mi.

At least she has the title of one of the four young Dan actresses, has many fans, and should be helpful to the box office.

When the latter received Lu Yang's call, her mind went blank for a moment, followed by excitement, full of thanks.

"Thank you Director Lu, I will definitely act seriously..."

"Mm, bring your agent, come sign the contract as soon as possible, start filming next month."

"Okay, thank you Director Lu, I'll go this afternoon."

Hanging up the phone, after Yang Mi's excitement passed, she thought of the producer of this movie.

"Liu Yifei? Just self-esteem, the role is the most important..."

Yang Mi is also someone who doesn't admit defeat; they are all the same age, why is someone else doing so well.

"Taking this step, there will be a second step, a third step... I will surpass everyone sooner or later!"

Lu Yang announced the complete casting list for *Brotherhood of Blades*.

Choosing Yang Mi as the heroine surprised many people, but then they could understand.

After *Chinese Paladin 3*, she was the hottest among young female actors.

Liu Yifei is not in the comparison list; she is implicitly accepted in the circle as being a price level higher than her peers, and now she has even started producing.

Congratulatory texts and calls from classmates and friends followed one after another, making Yang Mi enjoy this feeling very much.

Inside Tang Ren.

Everyone could feel that Karen Tsai's mood today was very bad.

As for the reason, everyone could guess. The "First Sister" implicitly accepted in the company lost to the "white-eyed wolf" in President Tsai's mouth.

"The company still has several TV series to do later, you stabilize and fight steadily for a year or two..."

Karen Tsai looked at the person in front of her and sighed helplessly; *Brotherhood of Blades* didn't even have a chance, so she didn't dare to think about Lin Nan's new movie.

Liu Shishi nodded; she still remembered Director Lu Yang's comment during the audition: non-professional actor, weak foundation...

Lin Nan had no opinion on Lu Yang choosing Yang Mi.

Perhaps Guo Fan's *Source Code* box office stimulated Lu Yang, so the latter started considering these more famous young female actors in the choice of heroine.

The casting requirements for *The Thieves* were released.

The requirements for male roles were fine.

Decent appearance, moderate figure, with presentable film and television works, all could submit audition resumes.

When it came to female actors, it was much more interesting.

In addition to needing a slightly older powerful supporting actress.

Another main female character was actually limited to around 27 to 35 years old, outstanding temperament, good figure, mature and atmospheric...

Once these casting requirements came out, the internet and the circle were instantly unsettled.

"Sexy and mature, royal sister and mature woman?"

"Lin Dao has opened up? But posting it so blatantly, it's a bit bad, right?"

"If it weren't for Lin Dao Nan having no gossip, I would have thought what he was going to do?"

"There wasn't before, but there can be now, haha..."

Looking at the discussion content on the internet, Lin Nan wanted to laugh; fortunately, it wasn't too crooked.

For the circle, the casting requirements were out, which meant auditions and competition had begun.

The Film Bureau added fire, and the information for *The Thieves* was announced.

"*The Thieves*, commercial crime action film.

Production parties: Lin Nan Film Industry, China Film, Wanda Film.

Director: Lin Nan; Screenwriter: Lin Nan."

Now, everyone felt at ease, and a large number of audition resumes were submitted.

Ren Zhonglun had greeted Lin Nan before, and heard that he and Han Sanping had been arguing these few days; old friends, old enemies!

"Lin Dao Nan, I am Liang Jiahui."

Lin Nan was quite surprised that the other party actually called personally.

Remembered it was last time at the Berlin Film Festival when the two exchanged contact information.

"Hello, Mr. Leung. Have you seen the script?"

"I have already read the script; it is an honor to collaborate with Lin Dao on this movie..."

After the call ended, Lin Nan was relieved.

It doesn't matter if there's no Jackie Chan; Andy Lau plus Liang Jiahui is enough.

More and more audition resumes were sent, and Liu Yifei also ran over to take a look when she had nothing to do.

Since coming once, she was familiar with the road; the boss's wife entering her own company, no one felt surprised.

There were female actors who sent resumes and really attached sexy photo albums, which was speechless, and was brushed off by Liu Yifei...

"Lin Dao, let me recommend an actor to you, for that slightly older supporting actress role."

Hong Kong, nowadays, is like a shallow beach, unable to stir up any waves.

But Andy Lau taking the initiative to recommend someone to Lin Nan was something the latter didn't expect.

"Which one?" Lin Nan asked curiously.

"Selling a pass, hehe.

Collaborated with me before, she happens to have activities in the mainland these two days, I'll let her go audition, and Lin Nan will know then..."

Lin Nan still had to give this face; he believed Andy Lau wouldn't introduce any too bad actors to him.

This time, there were more people auditioning than any of Lin Nan's previous movies.

After all, it had spread outside that this was an ensemble play, meaning more opportunities.

Those auditioning for that female role were all familiar names.

Fan Bingbing, Li Bingbing, Zeng Li, Yan Danchen, Li Xiaoran, Hao Lei...

Zhang Ziyi was going too far, lacking self-knowledge.

For male actors, 60% of those he had collaborated with before came.

There were also some new faces, such as: Deng Chao, Lu Yi, Tong Dawei, Feng Shaofeng, Wu Jing...

"Notify these people to come for an audition."

Lin Nan pointed to a stack of resumes on the table and said.

"Okay, Lin Dao."

It took two days to screen these people, and the next step was the audition stage.

Lin Nan looked at the situation of *Source Code*.

In ten days, the box office had already reached 32 million.

Guo Fan became famous in one battle, the media was full of praise, and he was already a newly promoted commercial film director.

The audition invitations from Lin Nan Film Industry were notified one by one, and many people started arranging time and preparing.

"One movie, lost all the savings of these few years. Hope for good luck this time, to get Lin Dao's role..."

Female actors thought more, remembering the role requirements, all considering what to wear during the audition, how to highlight their temperament and figure.

Guo Fan attended many social engagements in a row and returned to the company.

He was the deputy director of *The Thieves* and had to participate in the audition link.

"Director Guo, Lin Dao is meeting guests right now." An assistant reminded.

"Meeting guests? Who?"

"A female actor introduced from Hong Kong."

At this time, Lin Nan was chatting with Kara Wai.

He didn't expect that the one Andy Lau introduced to play a supporting role was her.

Counting it up, she's almost fifty, right?

But you can't tell at all; she feels like she's around forty, with a very good temperament.

"Hehe, Brother Lau was still playing riddles on the phone."

"Still have to thank him, I've made a comeback in these few years, and there aren't many plays I can take..."

Lin Nan nodded; she had acting skills, had suffered from depression before, and only walked out in the last two years.

"I have seen Sister Wai's works, the recent *At the End of Daybreak* is very good."

"Thank you for the compliment, Lin Dao." Kara Wai said with a smile.

She really hoped to get a role in this movie; the ones she could act in Hong Kong were all too repetitive.

Lin Nan knew what the other party was waiting for, and didn't hesitate; she was indeed very suitable.

"Did Sister Wai bring an agent?"

"Mm, waiting downstairs."

"Then call her up; the actor contract still needs to be looked at."

Hearing Lin Nan's words, Kara Wai knew she had succeeded.

"Thank you Lin Dao, I'll call her up right now..."

In the office, Lin Nan signed the third actor for *The Thieves*.

"Lin Dao, this is one-third of the roles decided?"

"Mm, this was introduced by Heavenly King Lau. Whether it's acting or temperament, I think it's very suitable."

Guo Fan nodded; looking at it, it was indeed so, Kara Wai was also an old drama bone.

Lin Nan took out a list and handed it to Guo Fan.

"All the actors to be auditioned are here, prepare."

Guo Fan looked carefully; almost all were mainland actors, and at least second-tier or above.

*Love Is Not Blind* started filming low-key.

Lin Nan didn't go to the opening scene, because the auditions for *The Thieves* had begun, and the company was surrounded by media reporters from all walks of life.
