Chapter 306

Films filmed together always have to face an unavoidable problem.

That is, if the word-of-mouth of the first part is rotten, it will inevitably affect the second part.

Just like Huayi's *Tai Chi 0* now, it seems to have collapsed.

"The plot is extremely thin, old wine in a new bottle, like a pool of stagnant water, no climax, no novelty."

"The mixture of elements such as anime, games, rock, steampunk, etc., is too childish, rough, and flashy..."

"The male and female leads have no acting skills, no highlights. The fighting scenes are mediocre, all supported by supporting roles, and the screen time is still small."

"What did the male lead act? Like a tool man."

"What did Yang Ying act? Only remembered her big eyes and formulaic expressions, stiff!"

……

The industry didn't expect that among the three films, the one with the worst evaluation wasn't *Dangerous Liaisons* with the lowest box office, but *Tai Chi 0*.

Also right, although the box office of *Dangerous Liaisons* was low enough to make the production party vomit blood, after all, the theme was limited, and the lower limit was there.

Unlike *Tai Chi 0*, the early publicity was overwhelming, a group of cows flying around in the sky, and now the word-of-mouth has backfired, there will only be more and more serious negative reviews.

Only one day apart, *Looper* was also released.

For *Dangerous Liaisons* and *Tai Chi 0*, this was undoubtedly another blow to the situation.

The box office of the two films on the second day dropped to 4.4 million and 8.2 million respectively.

Looking at *Passengers* on the other side, it stably maintained the daily box office. On the second day, it reported 50.8 million, an increase of 1.2 million.

The media reports and the evaluations of the audience online were relatively objective.

"*Passengers* word-of-mouth and box office are stable, although not as good as *Bad Genius*, but there is a great possibility of competing with *Thieves* for the second position on the box office list."

"As Liu Qianqian said: among the films in the National Day slot, not one can beat *Passengers*!"

……

"The AI projection character played by Reba is very cool. A newcomer actor setting such a character is just right. The screen time is enough, and the acting requirements are not high,"

"That girl who refused Shanhai Media and signed with Tang Ren, she must be regretting to death now, right?"

……

Zhongying, Enlight, and Wanda were much more excited than Lin Nan.

Although the box office of *Passengers* looked like it definitely couldn't catch up with *Bad Genius*, it was still worth looking forward to catching up with and surpassing *Thieves*.

Plus copyright and other income, several companies were definitely making money.

Lin Nan had just hung up Ren Zhonglun's phone, and Han Sanping's came over.

"The box office share in Southeast Asia has come back, a total of 340 million RMB, you have someone come to connect."

"Mm, President Han, I'll have someone handle it later."

The settlement time for a film's box office revenue overseas often drags on for a long time. One month is common, and two or three months are not few.

This is also why Lin Nan likes to sell copyrights directly in Europe and America instead of public screening.

For one, public screening has many things, trouble, and profit risks; for another, selling copyrights directly has high efficiency in returning funds, and it's safe in the pocket.

The distribution of *Bad Genius* in Southeast Asia was done by Zhongying, and the share also went through Zhongying, and finally reached Lin Nan Film Industry and Red Star Dock.

"Just this one film, you guys have made a fortune."

Han Sanping couldn't help but sigh; not being jealous would be fake.

If this were a Zhongying project, at the bureau's meeting at the end of the year, he could slap the table and speak.

"Haha, luck is good, this theme is also suitable."

"Old Ren didn't look for you?"

Lin Nan paused, shook his head with a smile; worthy of being an old opponent, old enemy.

"Just finished the call, your phone came..."

"Hahaha, this person."

The two had a tacit understanding and didn't say too much; reality is like this. Once a partner quits halfway, others will immediately fill in.

Wanting everyone to spit out shares back to you later is very difficult, and this is not something Lin Nan alone can decide.

…………

Fan Bingbing's *Second Exposure*, two days after the other three domestic films were released, also ushered in a public screening.

The melee mode of the National Day slot had completely started.

It's just that the films in the melee were all domestic films except *Passengers*.

*White Deer Plain*, which had been released for ten days, had completely extinguished, with a box office of 102 million, no longer increasing.

The industry was full of sighs, quite a few people scolded Wang Quanan; he messed up a literary giant work...

Lin Nan just found out that Enlight had actually approved two films at the beginning of the year.

On Tang Ren's side, Liu Shishi also got the role contracts for two films, the lead actress of *Sad Fairy Tale*, and the supporting actress of *Badges of Fury*.

Unlike the sky-full press releases when *Sad Fairy Tale* was filmed, this time Cai Yinong was obviously very low-key and didn't send many press releases, thinking she should have been warned by Enlight.

After all, *Sad Fairy Tale*, which was released more than half a month ago, caused Enlight's stock price, which had risen because of *The Four*, to fall back rapidly, and it was scolded miserably.

Lin Nan remembered that Wang Changtian had expressed regret for choosing Liu Shishi before; thinking about it now, it should be regret for signing two contracts at once.

…………

*Second Exposure* had a first-day box office of 8.2 million, biting a piece of meat from *Tai Chi 0* and *Dangerous Liaisons*.

Not only that, Fan Bingbing's film also surpassed those two in terms of word-of-mouth.

Zhang Yimou rarely made an evaluation: this film is the ambitious work of Li Yu and Fan Bingbing, with superior quality.

Now, it's lively.

Before, the media provoked trouble, and Fan Bingbing and Little Zhang Ziyi's fans and moviegoers had fought online for the two films.

Now with the comment from the "mentor" in Little Zhang Ziyi's mouth, the media couldn't sit still again, and moviegoers and fans also started to act.

"The result is out, first-day box office, Fan Bingbing doubles Little Zhang Ziyi."

"International Zhang's 20 million high salary, not living up to the name, money-losing goods, dragging down the crew..."

……

Commercial value is always the thing first-tier actresses value most.

Especially Little Zhang Ziyi, who values her own status very much, a sentence of "not living up to the name, money-losing goods" is simply a critical hit.

Because this is a "fact," and it is very likely to affect her future film contracts, announcements, price, and status in the circle.

International Zhang's side counterattacked quickly, "The quality of moviegoers and fans is also a reflection of the actor's own quality; it is suggested to manage them well, don't bark wildly..."

……

"Welcome everyone to walk into the theater to watch *Second Exposure*; sometimes it's better not to go out and tell the truth, it's easy to cause 'secondary damage' to some people."

"In addition, quality, this thing, don't talk about it when abroad, don't talk about it at parties, don't talk about it on the beach, but talk about it when coming back, it seems a bit double-standard, right?"

……

Lin Nan and Liu Qianqian huddled on the sofa, also one of the countless people in the circle watching the fun.

Must admit, when these big stars personally tear each other down, it's simply like graduating from the literature department.

No naming, no dirty words, but every word names, every word stabs the heart, straight to the point.

Facts proved that Fan Bingbing was still a bit more powerful, and the team was also more professional!

……

*Passengers* got 51.6 million again on the third day, sitting high in the clouds, completely not getting involved in the box office battle of the other few domestic films.

Getting 152 million in three days, the film circle knew very well that the biggest winner of the National Day slot was destined to be *Passengers*.

That film *American Dreams in China* finished filming, attracting quite a bit of attention in the industry.

It was mainly about the two actors.

Deng Chao returned to the *The Four 2* crew, and the matter with Jiang Yiyan was mentioned again in a small range.

What attracted more attention was Huang Xiaoming; just after leaving this crew, he immediately got another blockbuster.

Bona held a press conference, high-profile announced the project of the martial arts blockbuster *The White Haired Witch of Lunar Kingdom*.

The mainland film circle knew that unlike Enlight only signing Chen Jiashang, and having a good relationship with Lin Nan Film Industry; Bona had deeper exchanges with the Hong Kong circle, and Yu Dong relied heavily on the Hong Kong team because there was no other choice.

This *The White Haired Witch of Lunar Kingdom* was still a pure Hong Kong filming team.

Small news spread in the circle, according to the Hong Kong director's idea, the lead actress was mainland first-tier Fan Bingbing, and the lead actor was Xie Tingfeng.

This combination was the old routine for many years.

But this time Yu Dong was strong, and it was also possible that he didn't want to be scolded by mainland public opinion.

He firmly rejected the director's candidate suggestion, denied Xie Tingfeng, and set the smooth Huang Xiaoming.

At this moment, the Hong Kong circle was making a scene again; their youngest Golden Statue Best Actor was denied just like that?

"Even Fat Yu has become tough, it's really not easy."

Lin Nan joked, but he didn't feel surprised.

Nowadays, there was indeed no need to care about the opinions of the Hong Kong circle; they were already completely vassals.

"There's a call."

Liu Qianqian, with a plain face and hair tied up, reminded Lin Nan.

The latter raised his hand and took the phone from the table.

"Looking at the National Day holiday, looking for me at this time?"

The caller ID was Han Sanping, and he didn't know what was going on.

Liu Qianqian sat on the side, pouted, and signaled Lin Nan to help her get the hairpin a few seconds later.

"Here."

Lin Nan answered the phone.

"Come to Zhongying in the afternoon."

"President Han, what is this about? Qianqian and I have already set to go out in the afternoon."

Lin Nan complained speechlessly, then glanced at Liu Qianqian; she bit her lip slightly, nodded, serious business was still important.

"Then I'm really sorry, apologize to her for me, borrow you for the afternoon, haha..."

Han Sanping also started joking, and the next moment became very serious.

"Serious business, very important business, didn't just call you."

The phone's external sound echoed in the living room, Lin Nan and Liu Qianqian looked at each other.

Alright, the afternoon date had to be rescheduled.

"Serious business is important, President Han, he will be there on time."

Liu Qianqian's crisp voice sounded, and Han Sanping was stunned for a moment.

"Good, Qianqian, you have the demeanor of a virtuous helper!"

Hearing the praise, Miss Liu started giggling again, and her silly side was revealed.

"Fine, I'll be there on time in the afternoon."

"Good."

Hanging up the phone, Lin Nan looked at Liu Qianqian who had already tied her hair and was preparing to change clothes, and asked suspiciously:

"The afternoon date is canceled, you still want to change clothes?"

"You can't go, I can change to Changchang and go with me.

Otherwise, getting up so early to groom and dress up, wouldn't it be very unjust, it delayed my sleep."

Liu Qianqian stood at the stairs, smiling a bit cunningly.

Alright, Lin Nan couldn't refute Liu Qianqian's words, he shook his head with a smile:

"Good idea, if I finish early, I'll go find you guys."

"Mm, by the way, help us carry bags, pay the bill, hehehe."
