Chapter 326

The atmosphere suddenly became a bit awkward.

Leonardo looked at Ma Te Damon, his face full of disgust and vigilance.

And the latter was still laughing and not taking it to heart.

"I originally just came to catch up today, who knew I would run into a good thing."

Ma Te said, looking at Lin Nan again, "Lin, why don't I take a look at the script you prepared too?"

Leonardo frowned and retorted angrily: "Enough, Ma Te, you are too greedy."

"Oh, how can you say that? How can an excellent actor's pursuit of a good script be called greedy?"

……

Lin Nan ignored the bickering between the two and turned to the bookshelf behind him.

He looked at the two scripts he had printed and bound yesterday in the left compartment, hesitated, and finally took out only the one on top.

"Let's look at this one first."

Lin Nan put the script on the desk, and Leonardo got up and took it.

"Ma Te, don't disturb me while I read the script, stay away from my script.

I feel heartbroken whenever I think of *The Hunt*, I really shouldn't have recommended you to find Lin back then."

Leonardo sat directly on another sofa and said without giving any face.

"Leo, don't be so cold, I will be very sad. Besides, maybe I'm more suitable than you this time?"

Ma Te Damon met those rolling eyes and joked without taking it to heart at all.

Leonardo ignored Ma Te's jokes and began to read the script seriously.

In the office, Lin Nan and Ma Te Damon also fell silent tacitly.

Around them, only the sound of occasional page-turning remained, and even the sound of drinking coffee was almost inaudible.

A script certainly couldn't be finished in a short while.

Ma Te Damon simply found a book on Lin Nan's bookshelf and started flipping through it.

And Lin Nan browsed the news from back home online.

…………

In the mainland film market, a new king replaces the old.

*Chinese Zodiac* showed the momentum of *Lost in Thailand* in the first half of the month, attacking cities and pulling out strongholds, invincible.

The film circle was predicting, would *Chinese Zodiac* be the third Chinese-language film to break 1 billion at the box office?

The most excited was Jackie Chan.

After making movies for so many years, this was the first time his film's box office performance in the country had been so eye-catching!

The box office trend of *Chinese Zodiac* was chasing the top three of the Chinese-language film box office list.

"*Chinese Zodiac*'s first-week box office reported 340 million, Huayi's stock price rose sharply..."

"Huayi, in conjunction with Jackie Chan's Emperor Motion Pictures, has submitted an application to the Film Bureau for an extension of the film's release, with a one-month extension key."

"*Lost in Thailand* has been out for nearly a month, with the box office approaching 1.1 billion..."

The most miserable were *The Guillotines* and *The Last Tycoon*.

The main cast of both films was exceptionally luxurious, but they still couldn't drive the box office.

The former's first-week box office barely climbed to 30 million, while the latter also barely reached 63.25 million.

For the film industry, the first week's box office could fully predict the final result. These two films were definitely going to lose money.

Many production companies were watching StarMe's joke; they entered two films into the New Year's slot, but both had this result, which was really miserable!

The sound of the coffee cup touching the saucer pulled Lin Nan's attention back from the computer screen.

He saw that Leonardo had already roughly finished reading the script and picked up the coffee.

"Don't you want to change to a hot one?"

"No need."

Ma Te Damon took the script, and Leonardo saw it but didn't stop him.

"A crime suspense theme about human nature, it is indeed a very good script."

"Thanks for the compliment."

"How do you plan to shoot it? How long?"

"It can be like *The Hunt*, short as one month, long as two months."

Hearing Lin Nan say this, Ma Te Damon had already put down the script in his hand and smiled helplessly.

He knew that this script was originally prioritized for Leonardo, and he was just joking before. Well, he only had a little bit of wishful thinking.

After all, the matter of *The Hunt* had been mentioned by his good friend countless times!

"Are you planning to take it?" Ma Te asked Leonardo tentatively.

"One or two months, I can still fully free up the time, isn't the awards season just two months."

Since it was said so directly, Ma Te Damon understood that he had no fate with this script.

However, a script that could be favored by Leonardo was definitely not bad, and Ma Te flipped through the script in his hand again.

"... *The Invisible Guest*!" he whispered.

"Can I take it away when I leave today?"

Leonardo suddenly pointed to the script in Ma Te's hand and asked Lin Nan.

Lin Nan nodded, "Of course."

Even excellent actors like Leonardo and Ma Te couldn't fully grasp the script after reading it only once; they must have to ponder it repeatedly to do their best.

"By the way, when you read the script these two days, you can also keep an eye out for any actors you can recommend to me.

You know, in Hollywood, I don't know many actors, and auditioning is a very mentally exhausting thing."

"No problem."

Leonardo nodded and agreed; after all, it was an actor who would partner with him, so he couldn't be careless.

More than an hour later, Lin Nan followed the two out of Crystal Pictures,

under the pretext that it was not easy for the three of them to meet, so they should have lunch together.

…………

Hollywood, especially Hollywood during the awards season, is full of actors, stars, and film crews everywhere.

Receptions and parties are constant, and there are also filmmakers and film companies from all over the world.

Even when stars are gathered like this, the head-turning rate of the three of them was exceptionally high.

The open-air restaurant, looking out at the sea, had a very good environment.

"I'm paying today."

Leonardo raised his glass, clinked it with Lin Nan and the other, and said with a smile.

The food on the table was very simple, steak, red wine, a few side dishes, about more than 20,000 dollars, mainly the red wine.

"Well, then we won't be polite."

"Please."

Hollywood paparazzi are much more powerful than those in the country, and their equipment is also better.

In less than half a day, the news of the three eating together was spread everywhere.

Even back home, there was news of it.

The most amazing thing was that there were actually bored people who estimated the price of this meal based on the restaurant's price level, and that bottle of wine was the most conspicuous.

"Luxury, a meal cost 130,000, has Lin Dao been corrupted by the evil capitalism?"

"I also want to be corrupted..."

"I'm very curious, who paid the bill? If it was AA, that would be too embarrassing!"

…………

Ma Te Damon's driver drove and sent Lin Nan back to Beverly Hills first.

"By the way, Lin, I just saw that over there, it seems, you also put a script?"

Hearing Ma Te say this, Lin Nan, who was slightly tipsy, nodded:

"Yes, that script still needs to be refined, it's not perfect yet."

"Then when it's done, you can show it to me, it's probably also very good. What was it called? I didn't look carefully just now."

"Similar to *The Invisible Guest*, it's called *By the Sea... *."

……

…………

Time is approaching the end of the month.

Yue Jun called Lin Nan and talked about the annual meeting.

This year, Lin Nan Pictures' several films really made a lot of money. All production companies in the industry were jealous.

Lin Nan lay on the big bed, answering Yue Jun's call, and asked with a smile: "Are you kidding? This is the request they made?"

On the other end of the phone, Yue Jun was also laughing non-stop.

"Yes, the opinions of the hundreds of people at Tiangong Color are very unified, they should have discussed it in advance. They hope that at the company's annual meeting, they will let a girl group perform, hahaha..."

Hearing Yue Jun repeat the meaning again, Lin Nan really had nothing to say, this group of people!

"What about Lin Nan Pictures?"

"This side is okay, only caring about the annual meeting bonus."

"Didn't say which girl group they wanted?"

Lin Nan decided to satisfy the request of these brothers.

"South Korea's Girls' Generation, T-ara, Wonder Girls, Kara, f(x)... and Japan's..."

Lin Nan was stunned, are these people animals? So many!

"Lin Dao, you decide."

"Then, just these from South Korea, you go to talk in the name of the company, it shouldn't be expensive.

Year-end bonus, three months' salary. The prize pool for the lottery, increase from 5 million to 8 million."

"Okay."

…………

Guo Fan said he would finish filming before the end of the month, and he really didn't delay at all.

Lin Nan saw the reports of domestic media at Crystal Pictures.

"Produced by Lin Nan Pictures, directed by Director Guo Fan, starring Luo Jin, Wan Qian, Reba, Tang Yan and others, the sci-fi romance film *About Time* officially finished filming today."

"Sun Yizhou makes his big screen debut, playing a scumbag..."

Lin Nan calculated the time and called Liu Yifei.

"Not busy with domestic announcements yet? I'm almost ready to cast here."

"Why, miss me after only being apart for a week?"

On the other end of the phone, Liu Yifei smiled very sweetly, her voice crisp.

"Yes, miss you very much, especially at night."

"Pah, rogue!"

"Why are you still scolding people? The daytime is all social obligations, I push away the social obligations at night, only now do I have time to miss you, just like now."

"Are you thinking crookedly? Haha..." Lin Nan teased.

"I didn't think crookedly..."

The voice on the other end of the phone became smaller.

Suddenly, Liu Yifei raised her voice again:

"There is a jewelry exhibition in two days, and then I will go to find you. Don't go out and run around at night, and don't mess around with Leo..."

"Haha, okay, all listen to you."

Lin Nan felt speechless for Leonardo; the latter's impression in a certain aspect had been fixed.

……

The next day.

A piece of film information was spread by the Hollywood Daily.

"Independent film production company, Crystal Pictures, is suspected of reaching a film cooperation intention with Leonardo."

"Golden Lion Director Nan Lin is highly likely to direct this new film, specific situation, still needs further understanding."

……

This news was immediately reprinted back to the country by the media.

Various film and television companies, brokerage companies, actors and artists, all paid attention.

"Lin Dao Nan, Leonardo, Hollywood film..."

The entire film circle, a large number of actors and artists, instantly became restless!
