Chapter 452

Crystal Pictures, third floor.

Lin Nan sat in the boss chair behind the office desk, drinking coffee very leisurely.

But in this office where he couldn't stay for two months a year, the air was filled with a murderous atmosphere.

Just because on the sofa opposite, Leonardo and Ma Te Damon sat on both sides, giving people a feeling that the well water does not interfere with the river water.

And in their hands, they both held the script of Manchester by the Sea, equally fascinated.

Tom was winking and signaling on the side, Lin Nan ignored him.

He found it very interesting, these two people were completely one after another today, and then coincidentally bumped into each other.

But Manchester by the Sea, there is only one male lead!

Lin Nan didn't disturb these two "actors" who were engrossed in the script, but browsed the domestic news.

That film Black Coal, Thin Ice, which won the Jin Xiong Award, couldn't wait to set the schedule, it was on the 21st of this month.

The film party's intention is very obvious:

It is to take advantage of the Berlin Film Festival and the Jin Xiong Award, which just passed not long ago and still have quite a lot of topic and influence, to sprint for the box office.

Many audiences and netizens were still booing, saying let Black Coal, Thin Ice also go to May 16th, when the three big directors fight, it will definitely be wonderful!

After a long time, a crisp sound of porcelain colliding echoed in the office.

Ma Te was the first to close the script, he picked up the coffee and took a sip, then put it back on the table.

"Lin, this is another... fascinating script.

The whole story is filled with infinite suppressed emotions, endless remorse and pain, cyclical self-torture and mental paralysis.

He is like a walking corpse, between escaping reality and facing it again, he needs redemption..."

Ma Te Damon was summarizing his understanding and feelings about the male lead of Manchester by the Sea as much as possible.

At this time, Leonardo also closed the script, his tone low:

"He is very suitable for me, isn't he? Documentary style film, loss, remorse, decadence, frustration, struggle..."

"Leo, you are too greedy, I saw this script last year."

Ma Te Damon said jokingly, he knew Leonardo came to see the script today, and he just happened to run into it.

But speaking of which, in his eyes, the roles Leonardo has played over the years can really be related to Manchester by the Sea!

"Ma Te, next time. This was promised to Leo in advance." Lin Nan smiled and interrupted the two.

Sure enough, Ma Te didn't think about fighting with Leo, he shook the script in his hand, "I'll take it back and look at it again, a very great script."

"Of course you can."

"When will it start filming?"

Leonardo looked up and asked, looking at him, he was really looking forward to it.

Because by comparison, this Manchester by the Sea has more award-chasing potential than The Invisible Guest!

"Casting will start in these two days, and filming will start immediately after, done within a month, I have quite a few things in the country.

Still the same sentence, if you have any actors you think are suitable, recommend them to me, I don't know many actors in Hollywood!"

"No problem."

"Hmm, of course."

Beverly Hills.

Liu Yifei returned earlier than Lin Nan.

Went late in the morning, came back early in the afternoon, worthy of being dubbing work, not only easy but also not rushing time.

Seeing Lin Nan's figure at the door, the girl Liu waved happily.

"I just ordered food, come quickly."

"Can do, it's Chinese food!" Lin Nan said pleasantly surprised.

Hollywood has Chinese restaurants, and not the kind of westernized Chinese food.

It is a high-end, authentic Chinese restaurant, specially opened for Chinese filmmakers.

Of course, the price is self-evident, quite expensive.

"Look, look, it's all about probing for news."

Liu Yifei handed her phone to Lin Nan, more than a dozen messages, calls, and records of voice and video calls.

Lin Nan put down the chopsticks and looked at it. In a while, he laughed out loud.

"Hahaha, laughed to death, these people have quite a lot of routines!

Also 'Director's wife, stuff a person in', 'blow a pillow talk', 'Crystal Pictures you make the decisions, Lin Dao is just a wage earner'..."

Liu Yifei picked up a piece of beef and sent it to Lin Nan's mouth with a smile, and he ate it in one bite.

"I have already dismissed them all, how to stuff a person into that script? Can't change the protagonist's ex-wife to Chinese, right?"

Lin Nan nodded, the girl Liu was right: "Yes, commercial films can still try, but award-chasing films will look very abrupt."

Speaking of commercial films, Lin Nan couldn't help but think of Pacific Rim, the second part can also be put on the agenda.

The Actors Union received the commission from Crystal Pictures and released the actor recruitment information.

Golden Lion Lin Dao Nan's new film Manchester by the Sea has officially started casting for some roles.

And the male lead of this film has also been confirmed, it is Leonardo DiCaprio.

The Oscars that just passed a few days ago are still fresh in memory.

Lin Nan, who chased the Oscars for the first time, relied on The Invisible Guest to get four nominations and two wins, winning the Best Original Screenplay Award and Best Supporting Actress Award.

And the new film, it looks like it is clearly also an award-chasing film. For a time, many actors and stars in Hollywood have taken action.

The news quickly spread back to the country, making the film and television circle a bit stunned.

"Produced by Crystal Pictures, written and directed by Lin Dao Nan, the film Manchester by the Sea has officially started casting. The male lead of the film is still a Hollywood first-tier actor: Leonardo DiCaprio!"

"This cooperation will be the third cooperation between Lin Dao Nan and Leonardo after Inception and The Invisible Guest, and it is also the second time Leonardo has starred in Lin Dao Nan's film."

The film and television circle knows that Lin Nan is going to start a new foreign language film, but they don't know that the male lead is still Little Li.

Many people in the circle know what this means, that is, this Manchester by the Sea has at least a 99% probability of still being an award-chasing film.

Because Little Li is already obsessed, he only does one thing over the years, and that is chasing awards!

In order to chase awards, he can try any role, and dare to try!

Enlighten.

"He participated in an Oscar awards ceremony, and just didn't come back?"

Wang Changtian, who just got the distribution business of The Invisible Guest, was muttering with a smile.

Hollywood business, especially high-quality projects, which company in the country doesn't want to get involved?

Enlighten wants to, Wanda wants to, Zhongying also wants to.

All three companies tentatively asked Lin Nan, and the result was not beyond their expectations, they were tactfully rejected.

"Lin Dao must be waiting until he finishes filming this movie before coming back."

Xu Zheng piled up a smiling face, looking a bit flattering.

Wang Changtian came back to his senses and looked at Xu Zheng:

"I don't expect the box office of Lost in Hong Kong to exceed The Taking of Tiger Mountain, as long as it can exceed 1.2 billion like Lost in Thailand, I will be satisfied."

"Chairman Wang, we are all in the film business, you also know that film is inherently a high-risk industry.

I won't say definite words, nor will I say the box office will definitely exceed 1.2 billion, but I think with Lost in Thailand as a base, the box office will definitely not be low."

Xu Zheng said confidently, no promise, better than a promise.

Sure enough, hearing this, Wang Changtian showed a smile.

He exchanged investment shares at the cost of free distribution, just because he was sure that Lost in Hong Kong could make money and had high box office potential, he was gambling.

"Huang Bo and Wang Baoqiang, it is impossible to participate in the filming of Lost in Hong Kong, I plan to replace them."

Suddenly, Xu Zheng said to Wang Changtian.

"Because they want box office sharing?"

Wang Changtian is not stupid, Lost in Thailand had such a high box office, if filming a sequel, the production cost is not high, the lead actors definitely want investment shares or box office sharing.

"Yes, Lin Dao has already taken 20%, we only have 23% left, can't be less.

Unless it can be like Lin Dao to conduct a total box office bet, but I don't have the ability to make the cinema side pay attention to me, hehe..."

Xu Zheng said self-deprecatingly. In the circle, only Lin Nan can be both literary and martial, award-chasing films and commercial films are both correct, and both are so strong!

At this time, a flash of brilliance flashed in Wang Changtian's eyes.

"Then replace them.

What do you think of the Bao Bei in my company? Can he replace Wang Baoqiang's positioning in the 'Lost' series?"

Although Enlighten also has artists, they really haven't had any that can be taken out over the years.

In every movie, they have also found opportunities for them, but there is no improvement.

Hearing Wang Changtian's words, Xu Zheng really thought about it:

"The height is about the same, he is also from the Beijing Film Academy, the role of pretending to be stupid should not be difficult, if benchmarking against Baoqiang..."

At this time, Wang Changtian added another sentence, "The key is that he is his own artist, the cost is low."

Xu Zheng's eyes lit up, and he nodded decisively, "Can use him to replace Baoqiang!"

That's all...
