Chapter 548

In the afternoon, the film circle paid attention to the document announcement issued by Edko Films.

They canceled the large-scale media meeting for "Monster Hunt" originally scheduled to be held in Shanghai on October 9th, namely: the National Tour Opening Ceremony of the Monster World!

Being too deep in the trap is the result; under the "Ban," one can only stretch their neck and wait for slaughter.

The industry has already reached a consensus, just waiting for Edko Films' withdrawal announcement.

In the Spring Festival slot four months later, the film market will definitely be missing a big-budget film, reducing a strong competitor.

For everyone, this is undoubtedly a great thing!

Lin Nan even heard more accurate news from Ye Ning:

Wanda, on the grounds that Edko Films "violated the contract" and caused them huge losses, requested the other party to terminate the film distribution cooperation agreement.

And it has already issued a written notice to Edko, pursuing liquidated damages and the advanced promotional costs. If not, then go through judicial procedures.

Although Bill Kong is a big producer and film company boss in Hong Kong, with extensive connections and strong capital, Wanda is the largest theater chain in the country!

The final result is obvious: Edko will definitely not be iron-headed to offend Wanda, and Bill Kong will definitely honestly take responsibility—pay money!

Lin Nan stayed at home, still a bit puzzled in his heart. After those old guys were retorted by him, they actually didn't make a sound?

Neither publicly shouted, nor did they find anyone to pass words. He remembered, it wasn't like this before!

Could it be that this time, it was just purely seeing him being invited by the Oscars to be a final judge, and they couldn't stand it? Looking for trouble, looking for scolding? Not so "cheap," right?

"Forget it, don't think about it. A group of people buried up to their necks in yellow soil, can't afford to provoke them. Jiang Wen is right, if one is accidentally angered to death, that would be terrible!"

Sitting on the steps of the practice room, Lin Nan held a tablet in his hand, continuing to busy himself with his own affairs.

He looked from time to time at Liu Yifei, who was seven or eight meters away, with fine sweat on her forehead and a rosy, flawless face on the treadmill, responding with a smile and receiving small expressions.

This complementary atmosphere was very harmonious, quiet, and beautiful.

……

This year's Golden Horse Awards can be said to be a paradise for literary films. The films and actors nominated for major awards basically all come from literary films.

Although Zhu Yawen didn't get nominated for Best Supporting Actor, he would still go to Taiwan with the crew of "The Golden Era," which had multiple award nominations.

But speaking of box office, this film is a bit trashy.

The highest daily box office was just over 7 million on the day of the National Day release, and then it was a straight decline.

It has been three years, and the 488 million box office record for Chinese literary films held by "The Fault in Our Stars" has still not been broken by anyone to this day!

Therefore, with the announcement of the Golden Horse Awards nomination list these two days, and the nomination of a large number of literary films.

Countless netizens and movie fans spontaneously talked about Lin Nan and Liu Yifei's "The Fault in Our Stars," which can be called a classic of literary romance films!

"It's a pity that this film of his didn't go to participate in those Chinese film festivals after returning from Cannes," La Peikang said with emotion.

"I heard that the Golden Rooster side seems to be worrying about Lin Dao Nan's matter," the secretary added with a smile on the side.

What this means, La Peikang certainly understands. It was too stiff before, shouldn't they be worried now?

"Let them worry first, there will be a way when the car reaches the mountain, we are not in a hurry. By the way, he doesn't have any overseas itinerary recently, right?"

"Chairman La, I haven't heard of that. But the Hollywood awards season is coming, it's not guaranteed that Lin Dao will go over in advance, after all, this time it's the Golden Globes and the Oscars together."

Hearing this, La Peikang nodded with satisfaction: "I hope he can go further this time, so I can also share the light, haha...

Keep an eye on his itinerary, these few days, have to call him over..."

"Okay, Chairman La."

…………

The morning sun was still red, and two cars from Starry Night were already parked outside the villa.

Two bodyguards stood outside the gate, and three assistants were carrying Liu Yifei's suitcases out one by one.

Because this film promotion trip took nearly a month, and the itinerary covered more than a dozen major international cities in Europe and America, so Miss Liu's luggage was naturally more.

"After putting the luggage in the trunk, you can set off for the airport. Wait there for a while, Xixi and I won't take long to arrive."

Lin Nan was holding a small bowl of eight-treasure porridge, and instructed on the side. Liu Yifei had just woken up not long ago and was putting on makeup.

"Okay, Lin Dao, then we'll go first?"

Several suitcases were loaded into the trunk, and the nearest female assistant spoke to seek Lin Nan's opinion.

"Hmm, drive slowly on the road."

Not long after, two SUVs drove out of the villa area and rushed towards the airport.

Lin Nan also finished the porridge in two or three mouthfuls and returned to the villa.

In front of the dressing table, Liu Xiaoli was saying something to her daughter, and Liu Yifei responded from time to time.

Today, Producer Liu's dress was a bit casual, sneakers, jeans, a thin shirt over a short sleeve, light makeup.

But even with such dressing, it couldn't lower her appearance by even a tiny bit; instead, it was brought up by that face, bright and moving, beautiful beyond words!

"Lin Nan, drive slowly when you send her to the airport later."

"Mom, I will. Are you ready, Princess Xixi?"

Liu Yifei blinked at Lin Nan, "Okay, let's go. Here, help me carry the bag."

"You girl, it's just two steps..."

Liu Xiaoli followed on the side, scolding with a smile.

Just after ten o'clock, Lin Nan and Liu Yifei got into the black G-Wagon.

Miss Liu waved to her mother through the open car window: "Mom, I'm leaving. I'll call you when I get to Paris."

"Hmm, don't run around outside of work."

"Got it, I'm not a child."

"Yes, yes, you are getting married. But in my eyes, you are still a child! Lin Nan, you guys go quickly, don't miss the flight..."

Liu Xiaoli smiled and retorted to her daughter, and instructed her son-in-law.

When the black G-Wagon disappeared from Liu Xiaoli's field of vision, a motorcade also slowly drove outside the gate of China Film Group.

The media reporters who had been squatting outside the hotel all night and followed here were even more excited, it was indeed a "big fish"!

"They drove in, what should we do?"

"Wait outside, or find a way to mix in?"

……

In the small conference hall, La Peikang brought several senior executives and business personnel to meet with the people from Legendary and Universal.

Communication is not a problem; there are Chinese translators in the Legendary and Universal teams, and the external department of China Film Group is even more proficient in several languages.

The complete script of "The Great Wall" was sent to La Peikang and others for the first time.

"Fantasy, action, adventure... big director, international superstar... IMAX-3D filming..."

Browsing the script and film project, La Peikang's eyes were flashing with light.

At this moment, it was simply Han Sanping possessed; the "advantages" of chasing blockbusters and big productions were also revealed in La Peikang.

"Chairman La, the director candidate was given to the Chinese side, but we hope it is a truly influential big director, because this film is to be released globally.

In addition, in terms of casting, we also hope that our two sides can reach a consensus, whether it is Chinese actors or Hollywood actors, they cannot be unknown people..."

The China Film Group side performed their duties, La Peikang nodded while continuing to flip through the script. This is indeed a blockbuster that integrates Hollywood style with "Chinese elements"!

As for more specific evaluations and opinions, it depends on the director and the market team; after all, he is not a professional!

…………

Outside the airport, Liu Yifei curled her lips and opened her arms.

Three assistants and two bodyguards stood in the distance, turning their heads with a smile.

Lin Nan instantly understood and walked up, hugging her into his arms, very soft and fragrant.

"You really know how to send material to reporters; they are shooting excitedly."

Holding Miss Liu's waist, he kissed her lightly on the lips, and Lin Nan joked.

"Hmph, anyway, I'll be on the plane in a while, and I won't see the gossip."

Biting his ear, Liu Yifei said playfully.

"By the way, I've decided, I can tell you now."

Hearing this, Lin Nan was a bit stunned, not knowing what the person in his arms was talking about.

"What have you decided?"

"Hmph, it's the wedding, are you trying to piss me off? Not taking it to heart!"

Wrinkling her nose, Liu Yifei said fiercely, a bit angry.

"Haha, looking at you, I can't think of anything else!"

Lin Nan quibbled, and Miss Liu then changed her face to a smile.

"Tell me, which one did you choose?" Lin Nan looked into Liu Yifei's eyes, waiting for her answer.

He saw her blink lightly, her eyelashes trembling slightly, her tone firm:

"I want a Chinese-style wedding. Although the Western style is quite romantic, the Chinese style is more solemn.

Three books and six betrothals, proposing, asking for names, asking for luck, sending betrothal gifts, asking for a date, welcoming the bride, among which the betrothal letter, gift letter, and welcome letter, not a single link can be missing.

Heaven and earth witness, properly matched and married, eight-bearer sedan chair... Hahaha..."

As she spoke, Liu Yifei even amused herself.

Lin Nan listened seriously, nodding and teasing himself: "Calculated this way, I only completed the betrothal letter link?"

"Hmm, yes."

Liu Yifei said with a smile; she had been thinking about this at home for the past two days, and officially made a decision today.

"Hmm, the time is quite tight! Then I can only wait for you to return from the film promotion, and then let people come to the house to measure your data and customize the phoenix crown and coronet. Add money, rush the work!"

"Hmm, I know, wait for me to return."

The satisfied Liu Yifei looked up and kissed Lin Nan, then walked towards the departure hall with reluctance, looking back every three steps.

The paparazzi outside the airport finally ate their fill of dog food; after Liu Yifei entered, they swarmed and surrounded Lin Nan.

Seeing that they were relatively polite and didn't disturb him and Miss Liu, Lin Nan accepted the interview.

……

"Produced by Warner, directed by Christopher Nolan, starring Oscar Best Actor Matthew McConaughey, Liu Yifei, Jessica Chastain, and others, the sci-fi blockbuster 'Interstellar' with a production cost of up to 170 million US dollars is about to start global promotional activities..."

"This morning, Liu Yifei appeared at the airport with assistants and other staff, setting off for Hollywood. She will follow the 'Interstellar' crew to Europe and America for nearly a month of film promotion work."

"Lin Dao personally sent her to the airport, and intimately kissed Liu Yifei outside the airport, as if glued together..."

"Lin Dao Nan revealed that the 'Interstellar' crew will arrive in the country in November to hold a large-scale media meeting and domestic premiere..."

Near noon, a series of news appeared online and on Weibo.

That "top big cake" shook in front of countless actresses in the film and television circle again, making everyone feel uncomfortable.

Although it had long been eaten by Liu Yifei, everyone still couldn't help but envy, looking forward to other top resources that they could fight for!

…………

After leaving the airport, Lin Nan didn't go home, but went to the company.

"Breakup Buddies" has been released for 10 days and has cut 430 million, and the box office trend is "both stable and ruthless"!

Lin Nan found that under the hot search entry of him and Liu Yifei, it was the hot topic of Ning Hao pointing to the 10-billion box office director club.

At this moment, I am afraid that many people in the industry are muttering that Ning Hao is really going to become a 10-billion box office big director!

"What is China Film Group doing with such a big battle?"

Lin Nan sat in the office and saw the news outside.

It is said that a large number of entertainment media reporters followed the motorcade of Legendary Pictures and Universal Pictures and squatted outside China Film Group for a whole morning, which is really good perseverance.

Just when Lin Nan was curious, a knock on the door sounded.

"Lin Dao, the people from Shiyue Culture brought the semi-finished product of 'Monkey King: Hero is Back', do you want to see it? Director Yue and Director Jiang are already on the third floor."

"Hmm? Semi-finished product? Then go see it."

The so-called semi-finished products of animated films and the semi-finished products of live-action films are different.

The semi-finished product of the latter may be unfinished, while the former must have a complete plot. The semi-finished product of an animated film refers to the fact that the production effect has not been optimized to the best quality yet.

When Lin Nan was watching the semi-finished product of the animated film "Monkey King: Hero is Back," the internal consultation of China Film Group had reached a white-hot stage.

"The production cost must be over 150 million US dollars, and the specific amount will have to be budgeted in detail later..."

"This film is released globally! All relevant actors must undergo professional training for several months, including but not limited to: action, martial arts, English lines, script study, body..."

"The director candidate, has the Chinese side decided, can you tell us?"

"The recruitment and audition of actors, is it up to the director, or the production team?"

……

China Film Group and Legendary and Universal had differences on many "minor details."

The most prominent problem is "Director-centered system" and "Producer-centered system," which one to choose?

Hollywood actually has examples of "Director-centered system," but those are international big directors, such as Nolan, Cameron, etc.

But even so, these directors only have the greatest right to speak, not the absolute power of the "Director-centered system" on the Chinese side!

Therefore, Legendary and Universal firmly "recommended"—"Producer-centered system"!

After lunch and rest, the two sides continued to "pull."

Finally, at three o'clock in the afternoon, China Film Group and Legendary and Universal initially set all cooperation chapters.

Next, people from the two Hollywood big factories will be stationed in the mainland to follow up on the "Great Wall" project.

La Peikang sat in the office and breathed a long sigh of relief; he finally got the big framework done, and only the selection of people remained, which is also the most critical link.

"Chairman La, the people from Legendary and Universal have left, but that group of media reporters outside is still guarding. They want to ask about today's affairs."

Hearing this, La Peikang couldn't help but smile.

He looked at the secretary and said happily:

"Go and notify them, and by the way, contact other media.

Hold a press conference at China Film Group tomorrow morning, it's time to let the circle know about the Chinese-American co-production blockbuster 'The Great Wall'! A big production rarely seen in recent years!"

The secretary only reacted for a second, then nodded immediately, "Chairman La, I'll go do it right away."

As La Peikang's secretary, how could he not understand his boss's mind? This is to walk Han Dong's path, pretend... show off... show off in front of people!

……

A piece of film information abruptly came from the Hong Kong circle, which caught the entire circle off guard.

"The Monkey King 2" has started filming, which is the sequel to the previous rotten film "The Monkey King."

The investment cost this time is still not low, and the data announced by the producer is 450 million.

The Bull Demon King of the previous part, Aaron Kwok, plays Sun Wukong; and the White Bone Lady is interpreted by "Gong Huang" herself.

At first glance, this lineup is awesome, it sounds more reliable than the first part!

Having Teacher Gong Li play the big villain is really eye-catching; anyway, Lin Nan is absolutely optimistic about her. It is estimated that in order to invite Teacher Gong Li, the producer must have spent a lot of money!

It's just that the addition of Feng Shaofeng and Xiao Shenyang is a bit of a drop in grade.

But these are not things, the biggest joke is Donnie Yen.

Sure enough, status determines resources, "Zhen Kung Fu," "Universe Dan" was kicked out of the Journey to the West theme film series like this!

Many industry insiders sighed, knowing today, why bother in the beginning?

It seems that since being kicked out of the "Ip Man" series by Emperor and Lin Nan Film Industry, this person has really gone downhill, and it is out of control, and it can't be stopped.

……

In the evening, after receiving Liu Yifei's transoceanic call, Lin Nan went to sleep with peace of mind.

Don't say, sleeping in a big bed alone is getting more and more unaccustomed.

Lin Nan wanted to laugh a little, how did he become like this? Hehe...

The next morning.

The eyes of the entire film and television circle were attracted to China Film Group.

Because if there was nothing big, it would be absolutely impossible to hold any press conference there.

Not to mention that the live coverage of the media and the internet showed that the press conference held by China Film Group this time also involved two Hollywood giants, Legendary Pictures and Universal Pictures!

Sure enough, the industry's speculation was not wrong; China Film Group did a big thing, which shocked the entire domestic film circle.

When the complete news appeared on Weibo, countless film and television production companies were jealous and envious.

All actors had green eyes, all were wolves, drooling!

"This morning, China Film Group, together with Legendary Pictures and Universal Pictures, held a press conference in Beijing..."

"Co-produced by China Film Group, Legendary Pictures, and Universal Pictures, the Chinese-American co-production blockbuster, the film 'The Great Wall' was officially established and released..."

"It is reported that the initial investment amount of the film 'The Great Wall' is 150 million US dollars; the film is a fantasy, action, adventure blockbuster."

"The film 'The Great Wall' plans to be directed by a top international big director, with Chinese and Hollywood superstars participating in the performance, released globally, IMAX-3D filming and production..."

……

"China Film Group Chairman La Peikang stated that unlike previous Chinese-American co-production blockbusters, 'The Great Wall' is the big-budget co-production film with the highest investment cost to date, and the possibility of continuing to add investment is not ruled out.

As the film name suggests, the film background is completely placed in the country, the vast majority of leads and supporting roles will be selected in the country, and the film director will also be produced among Chinese big directors..."

……

The film and television circle has completely boiled over; when was the last time I saw such a big cake?

Remembered!

The last similar big cake seems to be the one obtained by Liu Yifei, who just flew to Hollywood yesterday—that "Interstellar" with an investment of 170 million US dollars, top crew, top production!

Then what about this time? Should there be no share for her, right?

And I haven't heard that Lin Nan and Legendary and Universal have any intersection? Unless...

Many people have thought of La Peikang's sentence: "The director of 'The Great Wall' will be produced among Chinese big directors."

Unless Lin Nan becomes the director of this film, otherwise, Liu Yifei will have to "compete fairly"!

To be honest, no actress can care about that much anymore.

In their hearts, even if Lin Nan became the director of this film, everyone would have to fight for it!

Mainland, Hong Kong, Taiwan, all actors looked over.

Teacher Gong Li has already entered the "The Monkey King 2" crew and was automatically excluded.

Big flowers starting from Zhang Ziyi, Fan Bingbing, Li Bingbing, Zhou Xun, Zhao Liying, Yu Nan... all are in action, inquiring about news.

Small flowers are also eager to move, there is no one who doesn't fantasize, Yang Mi, Yang Ying, Ni Ni... Liu Shishi...

First-line male actors are also the same, Huang Xiaoming, Deng Chao, Chen Kun, Xie Tingfeng, Tong Dawei...

Many people who are in the crew also hold expectations.

Because everyone knows that the time interval from the establishment of a big-budget film to the start of filming will definitely not be short, and they can wait!

Actors and artists are all in a state of looking forward to it, those with backgrounds and companies have all run. For example, companies like Emperor, etc., are running for their own people.

And those without companies can only find their own connections! However, as a first-line, how could there be no connections?

When Lin Nan saw the news online, the whole person was stunned!

China Film Group was mysterious for a long time, he thought they were doing what? The result is "The Great Wall"!

Lin Nan's Weibo has been swiped, all are leaving messages asking him, asking him if he knew about this in advance, and whether he would go to compete for the director of "The Great Wall"?

Many people are blowing, letting Lin Nan try it, and also recommending their own idols, big flowers, and first-line stars to him.

Lin Nan saw Zhang Ziyi, Fan Bingbing, and others all tagging him, of course, also tagging other big directors, such as Zhang Yimou, Chen Kaige, Jiang Wen...

"Brother, will you go to be the director of 'The Great Wall'? Does Xixi know? Why don't you try it? By the way, bring Xixi and me in?"

Shu Chang's idea is really asking for a beating!

"You are quite capable of thinking, right?" Lin Nan said irritably.

"Hehe, since it's thinking, then it must be thinking for the better."

"What, you..."

Without waiting for Shu Chang to say more, Lin Nan hung up, it is estimated that this dead girl will definitely go to Liu Yifei to "complain."

"Still let me try the director of 'The Great Wall'? Taking foreign films is not that simple? Co-production films are the most difficult to handle, most of the Chinese and Western cultures are in conflict!

It's just 'Pacific Rim' that can rely on mechs and monsters to synthesize the focus of both sides! And the more things with a certain cultural color, the harder it is to co-produce!"

Lin Nan muttered.

At the same time, the mobile phone was not idle, and messages kept pouring in.

All are acquaintances and good friends in the circle, looking forward to Lin Nan being the director, inquiring about the news from China Film Group, asking him if he knows the script content...

Good guy, the feeling that Lin Nan and China Film Group have a closer relationship has become the "resource" for them to get the moon first in the eyes of this group of people?

After refusing to answer several calls from Zhang Ziyi, Fan Bingbing, Li Bingbing, etc., Lin Nan finally answered Zhou Xun's.

"Why, even you care about these?"

"I'm just so-so, the agent asked me to ask, just ask. What if there is a surprise, what do you say? Haha..."

"Then don't think about it, I have nothing here." Lin Nan said bluntly.

"I really think you are suitable, in terms of commercial films, you are better than Director Yimou, Director Kaige, Director Jiang Wen. Such a big production, the first director candidate in the hearts of many actors is you. If you take it, everyone will definitely..."

"What did you say?"

"If you take it?"

"The previous sentence."

"You are the first director candidate in the hearts of many actors?"

Hearing this sentence, Lin Nan was stunned. Zhou Xun wouldn't lie, they all think so, then La Peikang?

"Why don't you speak?" Zhou Xun shouted on the other end of the phone.

At this time, another call came in, prompting at the top of the phone screen.

"You crow mouth!"

"What did I do again? Isn't it good to praise you?" Zhou Xun retorted.

"China Film Group, called!" Lin Nan said speechlessly, really troublesome!

"Ah? Could it be?"

"Eight or nine out of ten!"

"This is a good thing, why do you feel a bit unwilling? I won't disturb you, answer quickly. If it's really looking for you to be the director, remember to take care of me, if there is a suitable role. I am now lacking this kind of big production..."

Without waiting for Zhou Xun to finish, Lin Nan hung up again.

"What kind of things are these.

Hello, Chairman La, is there anything? Go to China Film Group tomorrow? I'm a bit busy recently..."
