Chapter 418: How am I supposed to explain this to the company?

Xu Tian's assistant reminded him: "Supervisor Guo, you haven't completed the handover procedures with Supervisor Xu yet; this doesn't comply with regulations..."

"You, a mere assistant, dare to talk to me about regulations?" Guo Zhihao curled his lip and glared fiercely at the assistant: "I am the boss of the Economic Department now. The contracts and project proposals of the Economic Department should all be handed over to me! You're dragging your feet on handing over the files; are you tired of working here?"

"Face reality. From now on, Qingguo Music is my territory. If you don't listen, get out now!"

"This... it's not that I won't give them to you, but I'm just a small assistant and don't have the key to the filing cabinet. Why don't you wait a while until Supervisor Xu returns and ask him for it?"

The assistant was almost scared to tears by Guo Zhihao's fierce appearance and whispered, holding back tears.

"I still have work to do, so I'll head out first."

"Wait!"

Guo Zhihao called out to the assistant, who was about to leave, with some displeasure.

"Xu Tian is no longer a supervisor! There is only one supervisor of the Economic Department, and that is me!"

"Also, what was Xu Tian's original schedule for today?"

"Supervisor Xu... Manager Xu..." The assistant hesitated for a moment before saying: "He had an appointment with Manager Zhang from Lemon Short Video today, and it's almost time for the scheduled meeting."

Just as Guo Zhihao opened his mouth to say something, the office door was knocked on.

Immediately after, a pot-bellied middle-aged man pushed the door open and walked in.

Seeing the middle-aged man, Guo Zhihao stood up immediately, greeting him with a smile: "Isn't this Manager Zhang from Lemon Short Video? Nice to meet you!"

Manager Zhang Baishun looked at Guo Zhihao in front of him and frowned in surprise.

"Where is Supervisor Xu?"

Xu Tian's assistant was about to speak but was pushed aside by Guo Zhihao, who explained unhurriedly.

"Supervisor Xu has been promoted. I am now fully responsible for the work of the Economic Department at Qingguo Music."

"Manager Zhang, let me formally introduce myself. I am Guo Zhihao, the current supervisor of the Economic Department at Qingguo Music."

"Manager Zhang, if there is anything you need us to cooperate with, you can discuss it directly with me."

As Guo Zhihao spoke, he raised his hand to check his watch.

"It just so happens that it's almost lunchtime. My treat, let's go to a nearby private restaurant to eat. We can chat while we eat!"

As he spoke, he led Zhang Baishun out of the office, never giving Xu Tian's assistant a chance to notify Xu Tian.

Half an hour later, Xu Tian finished dealing with Guo Qishan and returned to the office.

Seeing him return, the assistant ran over anxiously and said.

"Supervisor Xu, didn't you have a meeting scheduled with Manager Zhang from Lemon Short Video?"

"Just now, Guo Zhihao took advantage of your absence and invited Manager Zhang out for a meal. He even told him that from now on, all cooperation matters regarding the Economic Department will be handled by him!"

The assistant felt very indignant for Xu Tian.

"Supervisor Xu, this Guo Zhihao is acting recklessly because he has President Guo's backing. He didn't follow the formal procedures at all. You haven't even completed the work handover, and he's already snatched your client. This is clearly an attempt to steal your performance!"

Hearing the assistant explain the ins and outs of the matter, Xu Tian remained very calm.

Even though this cooperation project was something he had negotiated with Lemon Short Video for nearly two months before seeing any progress.

At this moment, he still acted as if nothing had happened, patting the assistant on the shoulder calmly.

"Don't worry. He might be able to intercept my performance, but he doesn't necessarily have the ability to secure this resource."

In a private room at a restaurant near Qingguo Music.

Guo Zhihao pushed the internet-famous trainee who had come with him in front of Manager Zhang.

"Manager Zhang, this is Zhou Shishi, a newcomer I am about to launch."

"Shishi, this is Manager Zhang from Lemon Short Video. Hurry up and toast Manager Zhang!"

"Lemon Short Video is currently the hottest short video website in the country. Many streamers signed with the site have become internet celebrities, and some have even entered the entertainment industry. Because short videos are so popular now and the site has such massive traffic, many big stars are scrambling to join the platform and cooperate with them. This is all thanks to Manager Zhang."

Guo Zhihao flattered Manager Zhang while winking at the internet-famous trainee, Zhou Shishi.

Zhang Baishun was very pleased with Guo Zhihao's praise and nodded at him with satisfaction.

"Supervisor Guo, you're exaggerating. Lemon Short Video was able to grow from an unknown small website; it's not just my credit alone."

"Manager Zhang, I have always admired you very much." Zhou Shishi said in a sweet, affected voice, pressing half her body against Zhang Baishun: "Would you do me the honor of having a drink with me?"

"The people under you are quite sensible." Zhang Baishun lecherously pinched Zhou Shishi's slender waist and drank the wine she poured into his glass in one gulp.

"Shishi was personally trained by me, and she is outstanding in every aspect." Guo Zhihao took the opportunity to promote her: "And she is a newcomer that Qingguo Music is about to heavily promote. All my work focus will be tilted towards her. If the company has good resources, she will naturally be the first to choose."

"She previously participated in the recording of the hit music variety show 'Sound of Nature' Part 2. You know that the singers from the first season are all famous now, each worth a fortune, with appearance fees in the eight figures."

"With Shishi's qualifications and the company's operation, her sudden fame is only a matter of time. Can you consider her for the self-produced short dramas of Lemon Short Video recently?"

The only purpose of Guo Zhihao inviting Zhang Baishun to dinner today was to push Zhou Shishi to the top.

Nowadays, short videos are popular, and many stars want a piece of the pie. Lemon Short Video has launched a brand-new unit short video mode, filming while broadcasting, and will recommend them on the homepage.

What he wanted to fight for for Zhou Shishi was the female lead of the first unit short video.

Upon hearing this, Zhang Baishun put down his glass, and the smile on his face vanished.

Guo Zhihao inviting him to dinner was one thing, but not discussing official business at the dinner table was his consistent principle.

Being able to climb to the position of project manager at Lemon Short Video, Zhang Baishun kept official and private matters very separate. He couldn't just casually decide on such an important role because of a few words from Guo Zhihao.

Nowadays, newcomers in the entertainment industry emerge one after another, and Zhou Shishi is not the most outstanding one.

Even with Guo Zhihao crazily feeding her resources, she might not really become a big star.

Since the plan started, many big-name stars have taken the initiative to find him. For a small newcomer without fame like Zhou Shishi to become the female lead of the unit short video he planned, she was still not qualified.

If he had known in advance that Guo Zhihao invited him to dinner with the intention of stuffing a newcomer into the cast, he probably wouldn't have attended this dinner.

Although Zhang Baishun felt some disgust at Guo Zhihao's overestimation of his own abilities, he still spoke to the other party in an official tone on the surface.

"Supervisor Guo, I think you just took office and haven't handed over clearly with Supervisor Xu, right?"

"Supervisor Xu and I previously finalized that Nie Jingjing would star in our first short video shoot. I had my screenwriting and costume/makeup team specially customize the plot and styling for her, and the male lead is also a currently popular traffic star."

"Now you suddenly want to change to a newcomer; how am I supposed to explain this to the company?"

"If that's the case, I'm afraid our cooperation will have to be terminated." ===== CHAPTER 419 =====
