News Report: After long-term investigation and screening, our police recently, with the cooperation of undercover personnel, successfully struck and captured a human trafficking den...

The hospital's big screen was playing the news that had just been released. Standing in the lobby were the family members of the rescued personnel.

Every person's face was incomparably excited yet worried. Although their children had been rescued, most were currently undergoing treatment due to severe anemia and various infections.

"Doctor, doctor, how is my daughter's condition?!"

When the doctor came out of the operating room, a circle of people crowded around him. The nurses behind hurriedly maintained order.

"Quiet a little, please be quiet! May I ask where the family of Ms. Forger is?" the nurse shouted loudly.

"I am!" A man squeezed to the front, holding his hand high, his face carved with the traces left by distress. "Miss Nurse, is my daughter okay?"

"After preliminary treatment, she is already out of life-threatening danger. Now she needs further conservative treatment..."

"That's great... that's great..." the man muttered. The burden on his body seemed to have been lifted all at once.

"Mr. Forger, please come over with me." The nurse took Mr. Forger aside alone.

Forger's mood inexplicably became tense again. "Do I need to sign something or pay money?"

"No, may I ask if you know a person named Eric Brooks?" the nurse asked in a low voice.

Mr. Forger shook his head in confusion; he had never heard this name.

"When your daughter was in a coma, she would occasionally blurt out this person's name. I suggest you get in touch with the police..."

While the nurse was persuading him, Blade silently put on his hat, tidied up the black trench coat on his body, wore a smile on his face, and walked past them step by step.

Arriving at the hospital entrance, Blade had never felt so relaxed in his heart. He looked up at the bright sun in the sky.

"I'm already out; no need to hide anymore, right?" Blade said, addressing the side.

Nick Fury walked out. "Just didn't want to disturb you enjoying your good mood."

Blade smiled. He didn't believe it, but it didn't matter. "You busy man, how do you have time to come over in person?"

"I came to see our hero." Nick Fury looked at Blade and said. He was actually still surprised by yesterday's events.

The sturdiness of that dungeon was comparable to the underground vaults of some small banks, yet it was blasted open by Blade with one punch. Nick Fury still hadn't figured out how Blade managed to do it.

According to S. H. I. E. L. D.'s records, the Daywalker's abilities shouldn't be able to do such a thing.

"Don't bother, I'm no hero." Blade retorted directly. He didn't want to be morally kidnapped by Nick Fury because of this title, and he truly wasn't one. "But say a thousand words, ten thousand words, this time I still have to thank you. I owe you a big favor."

If it weren't for Nick Fury's efforts, the girls who had been imprisoned for so long couldn't have come to this most luxurious hospital at the first opportunity, and it would be even less likely they could have accessed the most high-end medical resources here.

The impact of the whole affair couldn't possibly be like it was now. You have to know that in order to reach the basement as quickly as possible, Blade hadn't said a word along the way and had just fought his way through.

All the humans he encountered midway were knocked unconscious, and all the vampires he encountered were torn to shreds. The scene left behind was truly not very pretty.

That Blade could now be defined as an undercover agent rather than a serial killer was the result of Nick Fury's help in interest exchange, and to this day, not a single original, real photo related to it had leaked out; this was also the power of S. H. I. E. L. D.

"This is what we law enforcers should do." Nick Fury continued. He said what people wanted to hear when meeting people, and what ghosts wanted to hear when meeting ghosts. Most of the time, his EQ and eloquence were maxed out, and he said exactly what the listener wanted to hear.

"Don't bother." Blade was a bit happy hearing this, but coming from Nick Fury's mouth, why did it feel so strange?

"If you have something to say, just say it directly. Let's say it first: repaying a favor is one thing, but there are some things I still won't do."

Nick Fury nodded, while simultaneously adjusting his strategy in his heart. In just a few minutes of contact, he felt Blade was much more sunny and cheerful than before; his whole temperament was not as cold and ruthless as it used to be.

"I want to ask you to protect someone." Nick Fury said, walking out of the hospital with Blade, while handing him a folder.

Blade opened it and took a look; the name Tony Stark was written right at the very beginning. "This billionaire doesn't have enough bodyguards? Who did he offend? Those shareholders who lost their pants or other arms dealers?"

"He usually only takes one bodyguard when he goes out, and no matter how many bodyguards there are, they can only block external dangers; they can't block what happens internally." Nick Fury said, the corner of his mouth hooking into a "you know" smile.

S. H. I. E. L. D. had found some not-so-good things. Tony Stark's encounter in Afghanistan was highly likely man-made, and a certain relative of Tony Stark had major suspicions.

Slap! Blade backhanded the folder back to Nick Fury. He had only looked at the first page and had no intention of flipping further.

For security work, this was of course unqualified, but Blade reckoned that if he finished reading all the materials, he would be completely trapped in this matter.

The power and interest struggles within a super-large international top company are sometimes—no, most of the time—incomparably cruel.

"I will help you protect his life, but I don't guarantee I can complete the mission perfectly. I am not good at protecting." Blade said concisely. "Also, trouble Director to filter the materials and send them to me. Don't give me things I shouldn't see; I will resign."

"Of course." Nick Fury was not surprised by Blade's move.

Blade was not a S. H. I. E. L. D. agent; until today, he had belonged to the list of personnel under S. H. I. E. L. D.'s secret surveillance.

The original bit of friendship between the two sides had been left over because of the vampire matter. S. H. I. E. L. D. needed Blade to reduce the number of vampires, and Blade needed S. H. I. E. L. D. to provide intelligence; that was how they slowly had contact.

But this contact was actually not very deep, because Blade and S. H. I. E. L. D. had different attitudes toward vampires.

S. H. I. E. L. D., or rather Nick Fury, hoped to reduce the number of vampires, keep them within a certain level of danger, and maintain stability.

As for Blade's attitude toward vampires, there was no need to say.

"Alright, that's it then. Contact me when the time comes." Blade mounted his motorcycle, twisted the throttle, and left.

After Blade had gone far away, Nick Fury's smile faded instantly. He spoke into his headset, "Coulson, move the Daywalker from the surveillance list to the control list. Also, conduct a comprehensive investigation into Ms. Forger's related information..." ===== CHAPTER 35 =====
