Chapter 61
After temporarily saying goodbye to Dumbledore, Frank carried a huge Pensieve back to the Cabin.
Placing the Pensieve in front of the unconscious Johnson, Frank took a deep breath and began to recall the things he and Johnson had experienced together.
Although they hadn't known each other for long, the things they had faced together during this period were already wonderful enough.
Frank's memories flashed quickly, from the first time the two met outside the window of that house, Johnson showing his precognition ability, to Woody successfully ambushing on the roof, Johnson falling from the building—every scene and every frame was enough to mobilize various emotions in Frank's heart.
"I will hold the rudder of thought and pick up the lost traveler."
Frank's hands fell on the edge of the Pensieve. In an instant, he felt that he had fallen into the basin. Looking up, he, who had closed his eyes, became a giant, slightly lowering his head towards the center of the basin.
Success!
Frank took his gaze back, then waved his right hand, and the silver sail on the sailboat spread out, flapping in the invisible wind, carrying Frank towards Johnson's sea of mind.
When the sailboat sailed past a dividing line, the environment around it changed completely. The wind was howling, thunder and lightning were flashing, and the sea became pitch black. In this pitch-black seawater, things that were even harder to describe slid past, setting off huge waves.
Frank pressed on the ship's rudder, which looked like a decoration on the sailboat, and the Holy Light leaked from his palm, flowing through the ship's body along the rudder.
Immediately after, a silver light rushed straight into the sky, breaking through the fog above the sea like a lighthouse, illuminating the path ahead.
After being blessed by the Holy Light, the sailboat recovered from the state of being able to flip at any time. Although the shaking range of the hull was still a bit large, its direction never changed again.
All the way forward, after breaking through the fog, Frank came to another sea area that was hard to describe. Here, compared to the outside, it could be said to be calm, but the calmness under the sea surface revealed a kind of malice towards life, stimulating Frank's hair to stand on end, and he couldn't calm down for a long time.
Fortunately, after sailing for a distance, Frank found that except for that ubiquitous malice, there seemed to be no other dangers.
Soon, Frank saw Johnson's sea-of-mind island. The island was bare and had nothing. Johnson himself was lying by the water, closing his eyes tightly. His chest exposed a watch chain of a pocket watch, reflecting light brightly.
Above Johnson's head, bubbles were floating. In the dreamlike seven-colored colors of the bubbles were various beautiful pasts worth remembering for Johnson. There were scenes of him successfully being admitted to his ideal university, scenes of him first coming into contact with legends related to occultism, and even the moment he became a Diviner.
These bubbles crowded around Johnson, making the barren island not so desolate.
Suddenly, the sea around the island began to fluctuate. Small waves surged from the sea, like black hands reaching towards the shore, trying to drag Johnson into the sea.
At this time, countless golden chains appeared around the island, binding the black hands one step ahead. As the chains pulled, the black hands were brought away from the sea little by little, rising into the sky, and finally disappeared from this sea-of-mind land.
Obviously, the bubbles were the effect of the Joy Potion, while the golden chains were the protection of the Cabin. Relatively speaking, this seemingly calm sea area was the pollution input by Woody.
Frank looked at this picture, thought for a few seconds in place, and began to try to drive the sailboat forward. He planned to see if he could approach Johnson directly, which might be able to wake Johnson up directly.
As the distance got closer and closer, Frank's expectations also increased. Suddenly, he stopped the sailboat and looked at the shore with a heavy face, or more accurately, looked at Johnson's shadow reflected on the sea surface by the shore.
Frank hadn't discovered it when he was relatively far away, but looking closely now, that shadow didn't look like Johnson at all. That appearance didn't look like a person at all!
The shadow seemed to know that it had been discovered, and that kind of disguise gradually disappeared. The entire sea area began to churn, and the calm sea surface suddenly became the water flow in a washing machine.
Frank tried hard to keep the sailboat stable, watching the shadow become clear little by little.
What kind of strange thing is that? It's a monster grown wantonly by a group of cells. Eyes, mouths, and various limbs grew randomly in any area they wanted to appear. Just looking at this thing, Frank felt a heavy pressure. That was the deterrence from the natural enemy of life.
After watching for a few seconds, Frank suddenly had a sense of déjà vu. He seemed to have seen a part of this thing somewhere.
Tilting his head, Frank's perspective locked onto the relatively stable part of the shadow, and then he discovered in horror that the facial features on about one-third of the body were very similar to Woody's photos, just that the distance between the facial features was stretched, and it was filled with some distorted flesh.
"Woody" opened his mouth at Frank, revealing a mouthful of sharp fangs. The surrounding sea sprayed upward, forming a big wall blocking between the island and Frank, completely cutting off Frank's line of sight.
"Woody's" action seemed to be swearing sovereignty over Johnson, and also showing off to Frank.
Facing the enemy's provocation, Frank raised the phantom Holy Silver dual guns. In front of the muzzle, the wall of flowing seawater stopped. It seemed that the Holy Light Baptism at close range really hurt Woody; even some aggregates that polluted thoughts reacted to the muzzle.
Before Frank could be happy, an eye opened in the air by the shore. In the pupil of this eye were one after another densely packed small eyes moving freely. This was Woody's true eye.
"I'm watching you, I'm watching you!"
Woody's eye locked onto Frank. The chaos brought by his true body was much heavier than this sea area.
Frank frowned. Rays of light flashed behind him. Phantoms of Blade and Tony Stark changed and appeared on the small boat, plus the blooming Holy Light, a dividing line between light and darkness appeared on the sea of mind.
"I think you need some help in moving towards death."
Frank declared to Woody without retreating. Whether it was here or in reality, he would sooner or later send Woody to see death.
Facing the tough Frank, Woody closed his eyes, and the gap in the air returned to normal, but the seawater under the sailboat surged, pushing the entire small boat away from this area.
On the island, bubbles flew out from inside, some crossing the interception of the black hands on the shore, smoothing the surging waves.
But their number was still too small, and Frank could only be pushed out helplessly.
