Chapter 79: Helena

~6 min read 1,101 words

“I know what you want to ask, but in exchange, you must answer me two questions.” The blonde woman took in everything within the silver hall, and upon meeting Wang Yu’s gaze, asked without hesitation.

“Fine, but I can only answer questions I’m able to answer.” After a moment’s hesitation, Wang Yu agreed.

“Good. First question: Where exactly is this place?” The blonde woman asked gravely.

“What place? You slipped into this secret base so easily—don’t tell me you’ve never seen this login interface.” Wang Yu replied calmly.

“This is truly the login hall of Hyperbrain Taiyuan! So we’re all spiritual entities, not truly existing beings.” Upon hearing this, the blonde woman’s expression grew grim.

“I don’t fully understand your situation, but it’s likely so—otherwise, how could you possibly be here?” Wang Yu replied indifferently.

The young man beside them, hearing their conversation, seemed to recall something, and his face instantly paled.

Wang Tiezhu, who looked like a boy, understood none of their dialogue; instead, he was captivated by everything in the silver hall, constantly staring at the vast, mirror-smooth screen ahead.

“No, the three of us might be like this, but you’re not necessarily the same—you seem able to freely shift within the login hall.” The blonde woman immediately realized this and glared at Wang Yu.

“Is that your second question? I refuse to answer.” Wang Yu replied evasively.

“Of course not. My second question: Is everything here, and why I’ve taken this form, connected to the other world you explored?” The blonde woman fixed her gaze on Wang Yu and spoke slowly, word by word.

Hearing this, Wang Yu’s eyes flickered slightly; after a long pause, he nodded.

“Yes, there is some connection.”

“Good, I’m done asking. You want to know why there’s suddenly another ‘Ding Yu,’ right? After all, you are Ding Yu—you just changed your name to Wang Yu after entering the other world.” The blonde woman glanced at the young man beside them and let out a light laugh.

“That’s right—you actually know what’s going on?” Wang Yu asked seriously.

“Of course I know—he’s the one I created.” The blonde woman pointed at the young man and uttered a statement that left Wang Yu momentarily stunned.

“Hey, hey, what are you two talking about? I don’t understand. What do you mean ‘another Ding Yu’? I am Ding Yu! And lady, what do you mean ‘created by you’? Don’t say things like that lightly—I was born from my mother’s womb after ten months of pregnancy. Are you saying you’re my mother?” The young man, Ding Yu, could no longer hold back, interrupting with fierce protest—but the fear on his face was plain to all.

The blonde woman ignored the young man “Ding Yu” and continued speaking to Wang Yu:

“Wang Yu, do you remember what I did when I restrained you that day?”

“You copied my memories.”

Wang Yu replied thoughtfully.

“I don’t fully know what exactly happened then, nor can I offer much explanation.”

“But based on my rough deduction, your mental shockwave likely caused my electromagnetic ability to go out of control, fusing the electromagnetic energy carrying memory data with your mental shockwave in some unknown way, thus creating this spiritual entity—‘Ding Yu’—with fragments of your memories.” The blonde woman glanced at the young man and spoke coldly.

“You’re saying he was created from my spiritual power and your electromagnetic ability?” Wang Yu spoke slowly, his expression unreadable—no one could tell if he truly believed it.

“What are you two talking about? If you keep saying nonsense like this, I won’t be polite anymore! Who’s a spiritual entity? Who’s ‘created’? If you keep this up, I’ll—” The young man “Ding Yu,” upon hearing their words, suddenly flew into a rage. The next instant, thunder rumbled across his body, and countless electric arcs flickered into existence.

Everyone present was startled.

“What is this?”

“Ding Yu” himself was terrified—but before he could finish speaking, the electric arcs vanished in a flash, and his body began to blur, growing increasingly faint.

“Help! What’s happening to me? Save me!” “Ding Yu” panicked completely, shouting desperately at the blonde woman, even rushing toward her.

But after only a few steps, he vanished entirely from the silver hall. (Protagonist of the next book: you’re it, ^^)

Wang Yu, witnessing this, froze.

The blonde woman’s expression also shifted slightly.

Wang Tiezhu, seeing this, suddenly snapped out of his daze, clamping both hands over his mouth, his face filled with terror.

“What just happened?” Wang Yu’s voice was bitter.

“If I’m not mistaken, it’s because his spiritual power and electromagnetic energy have been completely depleted. After all, he’s only a temporary spiritual entity—unlike you and me, who are independent beings—he exists solely through those two energies. Once they’re gone, he disappears.”

“Who exactly are you? You seem to know a lot about this.” Wang Yu glanced at the blonde woman, frowning slightly.

“Mr. Wang Yu, I haven’t introduced myself yet. I am Helena, the strongest Wangpai of the British Commonwealth’s Superpower Unit, and the closest-to-S-rank Double-A-level ability user on the entire Blue Planet.”

“I also hold three doctorates from the University of Oxford—in biology, electromagnetism, and psychospiritual studies—and am the youngest academician ever appointed to the British Commonwealth Academy of Sciences, a Major General in the British Commonwealth Special Forces, and a member of the Commonwealth…” The blonde woman smiled at Wang Yu, executed a Western lady’s curtsey, then rattled off a string of titles that left Wang Yu utterly stunned.

“You’re a Double-A-level ability user? I’ve never heard of you.” Wang Yu seized on the key point in her words and asked in surprise.

“I possess both hyper-electromagnetic and hyper-biological mimicry abilities. You’ve already witnessed both. As for why you didn’t know—my second ability has always been concealed. Fewer than a handful in the entire British Commonwealth even know about it.” Helena spoke with pride.

“Hmph. After all that, you’re trying to make me think you’re important?” Wang Yu snorted.

“Yes, I intend precisely that. With my abilities, knowledge, and status, I should be of great use to you. But now, I’m more intrigued by this kid—he’s not a temporary spiritual entity; he’s a true outsider from another world, isn’t he?” The blonde woman made no attempt to hide her intent, openly admitting it—but before Wang Yu could think further, she shifted her gaze to the boy-like Wang Tiezhu, her expression filled with keen interest.

“How do you know he’s from another world?” Wang Yu’s eyes flickered as he asked.

“I guessed.”

Helena smiled in reply.

Hearing this, Wang Yu’s face darkened.
