Chapter 123

~6 min read 1,032 words

Zhou Yiyi said: “For those who can’t understand, they’ll never understand—but for me, it’ll take no more than fifteen days to crack it.”

Lu Fang gave a thumbs-up: “Fourth sister! Awesome!”

Zha Ximo smiled and said to those around him: “Hurry and take this man out for medical treatment—he’ll bleed to death if you wait any longer.”

Mo Fen’s men looked fearfully at Lu Fang; only after he nodded did they step forward to carry the man away.

After the Lieyan family’s people left.

Zha Ximo drove all his clansmen out, his face grim: “Young Master Lu, you must flee with your people immediately.”

Lu Fang frowned slightly. “Why?”

Lu Ling seemed to realize something, worried: “Is this Lieyan family extremely powerful?”

Sha Nai Lady nodded: “Mo Fen is head of the Lieyan family. You’ve broken both his legs—they won’t let this go. And their influence in the Buddha Kingdom’s capital is immense.”

Zha Ximo nodded in agreement: “With a Semi-Sage protecting you, you might still escape.”

Lu Fang frowned tightly—he’d been so focused on venting his anger he hadn’t thought about being in the Western Regions, not Da Zhou. He’d only wanted to settle the matter, but lost control and escalated it.

“So? Can you run?”

If Lu Fang were alone, he could immediately activate his Extraordinary Power—Conceal Heaven and Earth, change his appearance, and even all of the Buddha Kingdom couldn’t touch him.

But this was different—he had Lu Ling and Xiao Tao with him. He had many concerns and had to prioritize safe escape first.

Zhou Yiyi stretched his shoulders: “Run? Do you really think I’m as brainless as you, little brother? If I’m going to act, I won’t fear or flee!”

The Lieyan family wielded overwhelming power in the Buddha Kingdom’s capital. After Mo Fen was carried out of the Lion Family, though he survived, he immediately mobilized every connection and resource to kill Zhou Yiyi, the Semi-Sage.

After all, this was the Buddha Kingdom’s capital—when a top noble mobilized all his influence, he could eliminate a Semi-Sage.

As dusk fell.

The Lion Family’s ancient fortress was surrounded on all sides. Zha Ximo sensed several powerful auras lurking in the shadows—and these auras were increasing at a terrifying rate.

“The Buddha Kingdom’s capital hides so many strong cultivators.”

Zha Ximo paced frantically in the hall—he’d received word that Mo Fen had spent every favor and treasure to summon powerful figures from every major family.

Ya Xiu Bodhisattva, the Lieyan family’s only Super-Ninth Rank Bodhisattva, said anxiously: “Lord, who is this Semi-Sage? Tell them to flee immediately—they’re acting as if they have nothing to fear! Now our family is being dragged into this!”

Zha Ximo stopped pacing: “I don’t know much either. I sent Sha Nai to investigate. Young Master Fang won’t reveal anything—he seems to have some backing.”

“Thank goodness they didn’t leave—if they had, our family would’ve been destroyed tonight.”

Ya Xiu Bodhisattva sighed heavily: “But Lord, even if they stay, they can’t stop this. They’re from Da Zhou—they have no influence here.”

At that moment.

Lu Fang entered the hall, followed by Zhou Yiyi, Lu Ling, and Xiao Tao.

Zha Ximo hurried forward: “Young Master Fang, many experts have gathered outside. Do you truly have a way to resolve this crisis?”

Lu Fang smiled: “If we dared stay, we have a way to handle this. Zha Ximo, Lord, dare you come out with us?”

Go out?

Zha Ximo swallowed hard: “If I go out with you, can you really resolve this crisis?”

Lu Fang waved his hands: “If you’re truly afraid, stay. I’m going out anyway—I want to see how grand the Buddha Kingdom’s capital really is.”

Zha Ximo laughed: “If you dare go out, I’ll go with you. Worst case, I die—what’s there to fear?”

He wasn’t truly fearless—he simply knew his family faced annihilation, and now he could only hope Lu Fang had a plan.

Even if he stayed inside, danger was everywhere. Better to go out and see how this would be resolved.

Lu Fang glanced back at Zhou Yiyi. Honestly, he had no confidence—not because he didn’t want to ask for a plan, but because Zhou Yiyi hadn’t told him, and said his current expression was perfect—he needed a lesson.

Considering Lu Ling and Xiao Tao’s presence, he could only place his hope in her.

He’d tried using a puppet array—but discovered it couldn’t be activated in the Buddha Kingdom’s capital.

Then again, it made sense—this was the capital of the Buddha Kingdom. If arrays could be used freely, that’d be strange.

Zhou Yiyi grinned: “Relax. Your fourth sister’s here. Trust me—I guarantee you’ll walk out unharmed.”

“Fine.” Lu Fang braced himself, leading the way out of the ancient fortress. He stared at the endless circle of guards, forcing his stiff body to stand straight.

Seeing Lu Fang’s bold demeanor—facing so many without a trace of fear—Zha Ximo’s courage surged. He roared: “What are you doing! Get out of the way! This is the Buddha Kingdom’s capital!”

Believe it or not, that roar actually worked.

The guards actually stepped back several paces.

Lu Fang’s heart jumped—he shot a glance at Zha Ximo, flushed with bravado, and nearly strangled him on the spot.

What the hell are you yelling for?

What if you anger them and they all attack at once?

Lu Fang watched the crowd swelling around them and whispered to Lu Ling: “Fourth sister, why not just use your trump card now? If they all attack together, we’re dead.”

Zhou Yiyi didn’t hesitate: “What’s there to fear? When you told me to act, you weren’t scared.”

“I’m wrong,” Lu Fang whispered back. “Fourth sister, I truly know my mistake. Please, act now—delaying will only make things worse.”

Suddenly, the crowd parted into two rows.

Mo Fen sat on a palanquin, far away: “Hahaha! Today is the day your Lion Family is wiped out! That damned brat! Don’t think having a Semi-Sage makes you untouchable!”

Lu Fang smiled: “What are you afraid of? Come closer. Let me knock out your teeth.”

“Your mouth is tough!” Mo Fen coughed a few times, furious: “When I catch you, I’ll twist your head off!”
