Chapter 102: Break Through the Gate
The entire process naturally drew the attention of the children, teachers, and the fat official.
But none of them thought much of it; they merely mocked the white man behind his back. The more unfortunate he looked, the happier they felt.
Henry stopped vomiting, because the way he was being supported was awkward—if he kept vomiting, he'd spill it on himself or on the two beside him, and that would be too disgusting.
So now he merely gagged. But given the pile of filth in the gutter, no one doubted this was an act—even Brian thought the kid might have actually eaten something bad.
This performance also failed to rouse the muscular guide or the several local Black men. They were even more brazen than the children, pointing and laughing loudly at Henry.
These impolite attitudes did not anger Lady He Ben, because she was now preoccupied with her young assistant.
After finally helping him to the car, she had him lean against the hood. Audrey opened the rear door, half her body leaning inside as she rummaged through her handbag. "I remember the stomach medicine is in here—hold on, child."
Suddenly she felt a push against her lower back, and her legs were grabbed and shoved straight into the car!
Brian, the one who acted, slid effortlessly into the car. His movements were so practiced, one couldn't help suspecting he'd done this many times before…
The other three companions had already stationed themselves beside the second vehicle. The moment their leader moved, everyone swiftly got in and started the engines.
In Brian's plan, the slowest would be Henry, standing outside the passenger-side door.
Who knew he didn't choose to circle around the front and enter from the driver's side? Instead, he gripped the roof, leapt through the open passenger window, and nimbly straddled a seat to land directly in the driver's seat.
His movements flowed like water—more exaggerated than the most perfect cinematic shots, painstakingly edited from thousands of takes.
At the very moment the rear engine roared to life, the front engine also ignited. So swift was the action that the Black onlookers couldn't react in time.
But this entire brutal sequence was hardly gentle toward a sixty-year-old senior star—especially being forcibly shoved into the car, Lady He Ben inevitably bumped her head and grew dizzy.
When she finally regained her bearings, the car was already moving. Lady He Ben raised her voice in displeasure: "Can someone explain what's going on?" Then she tried to sit up.
Henry and Brian didn't need to waste a word—gunfire erupted, bullets pierced the window, and the already upright Audrey was slammed back down by Brian.
The head of the security team said: "Madam, do we need any further explanation?"
Henry in the front shouted: "Brian, is this car bulletproof? Any body armor? Cover the boss!"
A Black man stood blocking the road ahead, firing a rifle.
If the bullets came from the side, Henry might have hesitated—he didn't believe the CIA was that miraculous, equipping random cars with bulletproof steel plates.
But directly ahead, the thick iron block of the engine blocked the way—a small rifle couldn't easily blow up an engine.
Better to charge straight through: it would fling the Black man away fastest and let them escape the protection facility. Far better than dodging bullets in circles.
Indeed, Brian rummaged through the back storage, pulled out one bulletproof vest, and threw it over Audrey He Ben's body, shouting: "Watch out—this car isn't bulletproof!"
After covering Lady He Ben from head to toe, Brian also drew his rifle and returned fire at the attackers approaching from the side.
Audrey He Ben, a veteran actress, though facing real bullets, felt a strange sense of unreality.
If Henry's sharp tongue were active, he'd say: Only when bullets haven't hit you can you afford to make jokes.
But Henry had no intention of saying such a thing—and no time to say it. His entire super-senses were fully active, monitoring a ten-kilometer radius centered on himself.
About three kilometers away, a convoy was clearly heading toward them. He didn't doubt they were just passing by—he sensed several African war machines from his senses: Toyota pickups mounted with machine guns.
It was fortunate Henry's group moved fast enough. Otherwise, if they'd been blocked, escape would've been far more difficult.
The lady covered in bulletproof vests finally shook off the unreality and asked: "Can anyone tell me what's happening?"
But she didn't dare lift her head to look around—risking becoming a live target.
Suddenly the car jolted—Henry had just smashed through the wooden gate. The kidnappers hidden inside the facility could now only fire from behind.
The guide's vehicle had started, but he waited for more men to grab weapons and board before chasing. This unintentionally wasted more time.
In the rearview mirror, Mark's second vehicle had successfully caught up. No pursuers yet. Henry said: "Boss, I heard our guide speak Somali, saying he'd kidnap you, the white superstar, and kill the others."
"That fat liaison probably isn't official either. They tried to move at the airport—but the Black fat guy stopped the guide."
"He said more men would be waiting at the destination; no need for the guide to handle five white people alone. But we arrived early—their forces hadn't yet taken position, giving us our chance to escape."
Audrey sat up, worried: "Will the children at the protection facility be okay?"
Brian, busy taping bulletproof vests to the left and right car doors, replied: "Better to leave quickly and avoid gunfights near the facility—that's best for the children."
"Their target is us. They'll chase us. No one will bother those worthless children. If we stayed, with our numbers and terrain, we couldn't protect anyone."
After speaking, Brian slipped another bulletproof vest over Lady He Ben's body. Previously it had been loosely draped—now he secured it tightly. He also placed a steel helmet on the superstar's head.
Just as she finished dressing, gunfire erupted from behind. The bullets didn't hit the front car, but Mark and the others in the rear vehicle were now exchanging fire with the pursuing guide's jeep.
Brian shoved Audrey He Ben back onto the seat again, piling more bulletproof vests over her exposed limbs. Though he couldn't fully wrap her in armor, it was the best he could do.
He also reminded her: "Madam, please keep your body as low as possible."
