Chapter 165: The Moving Train

~6 min read 1,164 words

"My child used to admire you all very much."

A soldier's sarcasm woke up the sleeping Clown Chao. The awakened man looked around, realizing he and other mutants were locked in specially designed prisoner seats.

Everyone looked as if they had eaten dog shit, faces bitter, hands handcuffed behind their backs. The posture was extremely uncomfortable, not ergonomic at all.

But what truly made everyone uncomfortable should be the X-Gene control device around their necks. This device could effectively suppress everyone's mutant abilities. Even if an Omega-level mutant wore such a collar, they would be as obedient as a kitten.

Judging from the vibration of movement, everyone was on a special railway train; the military was preparing to transfer everyone to the Mutant Control Center. To put it plainly, it was a prison specifically targeting mutants.

Hank McCoy, restored to human form, heard the snoring stop, glanced sideways at the awakened Clown Chao, and said with a tone mixing helplessness and expectation:

"Finally awake. You can really sleep; one might think you were electrocuted to death. After all, you are the first to eat over a dozen paralysis bullets in one go."

"I am still developing, so eating well and sleeping well are necessary. Otherwise, what if I don't grow up? Will you take responsibility?" Clown Chao retorted with pure nonsense.

Hank asked quietly: "Hmm, I just want to know, does the X-Gene suppression collar work on you too?"

"Ah, I am so weak. Ah, I am so sad." A certain clown soul possessed him, shouting towards the soldiers running to the front and back of the carriage to rest: "Hey, do you have adult diapers? Help me put one on."

"The control collar you gave me is really too effective. I feel my bladder and anal sphincter are about to lose control, and the stuff inside is about to leak out. Yo-ho, are you hearing me?"

All mutants, including the soldiers in the same carriage, looked disdainfully in the same direction. Only Nightcrawler said worriedly: "Will the suppression collar really have such an effect? Why do I feel my stomach is strange too?"

Hank sighed and said: "Kurt, that is an illusion. You are fine."

At the same time, Hank also knew that relying on this alien who should not be a mutant to act was impossible. Raven, the helper you named is really useless.

Magneto, whose psychic protection helmet had turned to shards, ignored Clown Chao's monkey act. Instead, with a mocking expression, he looked at his old friend and old rival, saying: "Charles, I thought the US military was your ally. How have you also fallen into the same predicament as me?"

Professor X said with slight anger: "Once we fight in the city area, is this not an inevitable result? Only you could not cause such destruction. So I warned you long ago that battles between mutants will only be a lose-lose situation."

"Ha, you speak as if the US military bears no responsibility at all. Or is it that as long as they raise their guns, we can only surrender? No matter the reason." Magneto said sarcastically.

Professor X said dissatisfied: "It is because of your actions that the whole thing got out of control and became this situation."

"Ah, yes, how could the always-correct Professor X ever do anything wrong? Charles, your arrogance truly leaves me breathless. Has the title of Superhero made you intoxicated, unable to extricate yourself?"

This sarcasm did not make Professor X emotionally agitated; instead, it made him silent for a moment before he self-reflectively said: "I indeed made many mistakes, but my desire to help Jean has never changed.

"I never intended to hand him over to anyone, the military, you, or that group of aliens. The super-standard power within him was an accident. If possible, I would rather not have sent him on that space mission, or taken all this upon myself in his place.

"But now we have another matter to attend to; I know the purpose of that group of aliens. That power destroyed their home planet, but that same power can also be used to transform a planet.

"Those aliens' target is Earth; they will cleanse everyone on Earth so their civilization can revive here. Soldiers, you must believe my warning and report to your superiors. This matter is not over."

"Enough!" The squad leader heavily struck the train's support bracket with his rifle butt, shouting: "Stop talking about aliens. From start to finish, we have not seen any small brown monsters with big heads and small bodies. It is only you mutants causing trouble!"

This ET joke cannot be passed over...

However, Professor X wanted to say more: clearly there was an alien on the train, but everyone chose to turn a blind eye.

Professor X could only explain patiently: "Actually, the falling fire meteor we saw, I am certain was the aliens' landing operation. And after they gathered, the reason they did not expose themselves before our eyes is because we were fighting amongst ourselves.

"Their primary goal is to seize the power within Jean's body, and that alien following Jean was almost using deception to get it, only to be interrupted by Scott.

"So you absolutely do not need to worry about not seeing evidence of aliens, because they will surely come to seize the remaining part. What place is more suitable than this train passing through the suburbs and heading to the Mutant Control Center?"

"Stop talking nonsense over there." The squad leader said angrily: "Except for you troublemakers, no one dares to attack the military's special train. Even if you gave them more guts, it would be impossible!"

The words had barely been spoken when several collision sounds came from above the carriage. Instantly, the tense emotions of the soldiers in the carriage were aroused.

Everyone held their rifles level, but looked furtively at the source of the earliest collision sounds above the carriage.

The mutants restrained inside the carriage, though not all were battle-hardened veterans, had a sensitivity to combat that ordinary American soldiers could not compare to. They all felt the strange sensation of a storm approaching.

Cyclops said to the soldiers: "Untie us. We can stand on the same side."

"Shut up! Who knows if it is your mutants' helpers coming to hijack the prisoners." The squad leader said stubbornly. At the same time, he spoke into the intercom: "Report mutant enemy situation."

Suddenly, continuous gunfire came from the carriage behind, along with collision sounds from who knows where; the battle seemed very fierce. This made the soldiers in the carriage where the mutant prisoners were even more nervous.

The intercom also intermittently transmitted: "They... they are not..."

"Not what? Report!" The squad leader asked nervously, while other soldiers raised their guns and vigilantly stared at the corridor door connecting the front and rear carriages.

The machine gunner in the rear also cocked the bolt, preparing to fire.
