Chapter 386, Can’t I come here for a trip (first update)
"Mohan, step back a bit." Ye Jiuliang pulled out the wooden cork from the porcelain bottle and shouted.
Seeing the porcelain bottle in her hand, Li Mohan understood and, with a knowing smile, reached out to pull Wei Dong aside.
Wei Dong hadn’t reacted yet when he turned his head and saw the person tugging at the back of his collar, his clenched fist instantly relaxed.
"Here, something fun for you guys."
A low and cool voice echoed in the air, as if it were thunder.
The men in black looked back warily, the wind blew the leaves, but the source of the voice was nowhere to be seen.
Suddenly, pale green powder came with the wind, spreading far and wide, catching them off guard.
As soon as the powder touched their skin, the men in black’s faces and hands immediately broke out in many red rashes.
It wasn’t just a small spot, but large areas of red rashes that bloomed.
"Ah——"
Piercing screams rose and fell, their tone harsh and unpleasant to the ear.
Wei Dong, seeing the men in black writhing on the ground, showed a look of astonishment in his eyes.
This...
"Ah——"
The painful screaming persisted without end.
The men in black’s eyes were bloodshot, their faces covered with rashes, no longer able to see their original features.
The next second, they picked up the daggers from the ground and turned on their companions.
The sharp blades pierced fiercely into the flesh; blood splattered.
"Hehe."
The wind blew, and a crisp laugh like a clear bell spread wantonly.
The figure of Qing Chen Wushuang emerged from behind an ancient tree, her black boots stepping on the yellow fallen leaves, making a faint noise.
Wei Dong watched the approaching figure with wary eyes, and upon seeing that exquisite face, he stopped in his tracks.
How could she be here?
Before he could react, the person beside him had already moved.
He moved as fast as the wind, a fleeting shadow flashing before him, and even several meters away, he could feel the joyful aura emanating from his master.
Wei Dong felt a sense of blockage, "..."
Ye Jiuliang, seeing the man running towards her, flashed a mischievous smile in her eyes and stepped back, dodging the man’s embrace.
"Wait a moment."
His iron arm hung in the air, Li Mohan’s smile on his lips froze as he looked at the woman with a touch more wistfulness in his eyes.
"Weren’t you not going to bring me along?" Ye Jiuliang teased with a smile.
Li Mohan stretched out his hand to catch her, Ye Jiuliang stepped back again, and he missed once more.
A touch of helplessness shone in his eyes, deep as a cold pool, "Wolf cub, are you doing this on purpose?"
He hadn’t taken her with him, yet she had snuck over on her own.
Really, there was no way to deal with her.
Ye Jiuliang stifled a laugh, lifting her chin slightly, "Are we that familiar?"
Li Mohan’s deep eyes darkened. His iron arm swept across and hooked her waist, pulling her into his arms.
Instantly, the missing piece deep in his heart felt filled.
Li Mohan curved his lips, raising a hand to wipe the sweat from her forehead, "When did you get here? Weren’t you told to stay put in the capital?"
Ye Jiuliang looked up at him, her voice cool, "Can’t I come here for a tour?"
Not lowering his voice deliberately, Wei Dong heard her and stood stunned.
Coming to this godforsaken place for a tour?
She must be quite a character.
"Are you angry?" Li Mohan’s fingertips slid down, gently scraping her nose, "Mad at me for not bringing you along?"
"I don’t have the time to be mad at you. I’m busy dating handsome guys," Ye Jiuliang retorted with a pout, deliberately teasing him.
Seeing his little wolf cub annoyed, Li Mohan’s lips curled lightly, his voice softened unconsciously, "Then should I spank you?"
Ye Jiuliang almost couldn’t keep her laughter in and turned her head away, "Who cares about spanking you? My hand would hurt."
"Hand hurting, or heart hurting?" Li Mohan joked.
Ye Jiuliang let out a light laugh and reached out to twist his arm, but his muscles were too firm to be moved.
"Narcissist."
His teasing made Li Mochan smile, lifting the corners of his lips.
Ye Jiuliang studied him carefully, "Are you hurt? No..."
Before she could finish her question, the man held her tightly, his hands clasping around her waist, tightening.
Ye Jiuliang almost had her breath squeezed out of her.
She raised her hand and patted the man’s arm, and then his deep voice suddenly rang in her ear.
"Little rascal, I’ve missed you so much!"
Her arrival was both a shock and a pleasant surprise.
Ye Jiuliang’s eyes brimmed with laughter, "How much did you miss me?"
"Missed warming the bed for you." His voice remained serious for only three seconds, magnetic and laced with mirth.
Ye Jiuliang couldn’t help but chuckle, her eyes curving into crescent moons, terribly enticing, "Hmm, the bed has indeed been a bit cold these last few days."
One dared to speak, the other dared to respond, as if a little ’choo-choo’ train passed by.
Wei Dong bowed his head silently.
Hear no evil, see no evil.
On the other side, the screams gradually ceased.
The pungent smell of blood wafted through the air with the wind, the blood-stained, withered leaves on the ground presenting a distressing sight.
As the wind died down, the killing stopped.
The ground was littered with the bodies of men in black clothing, their faces covered with revolting red pustules.
Even accustomed to slaughter, Wei Dong felt a wave of trypophobia swelling within him at the sight of those clustered pustules.
Ye Jiuliang walked over, crouched down, and reached out to pull at the collar of one of the men in black.
Before she could touch him, a strong iron-like arm blocked her.
Ye Jiuliang looked up at Li Mochan with a puzzled gaze, "Why are you stopping me?"
"You’re not allowed to strip other people’s clothes." Li Mochan said as he pulled her up, his iron-like arm wrapping around her waist.
Hearing the jealousy in his tone, Ye Jiuliang looked at him with amusement, "I was just checking for other clues."
"Wei Dong."
A cold glance swept over Wei Dong, who immediately understood his intention.
Wei Dong stepped forward, avoiding the men in black with the pustules and searching the others for clues.
Nothing. Not even a totem marking.
Ye Jiuliang frowned, the mastermind behind this was incredibly cautious.
He feared even the slightest leak of information, the ones sent out were Dead Warriors, and they were made mute by poison.
She shared her findings, "Mohan, these poison darts are identical to the one from last time."
Li Mochan hummed, he had noticed this as well.
The troublemakers lurking in the darkness were all from the same group.
To the east lay only desert, impossible to hide in. Kodah and his men wouldn’t be there unless they were hiding in the woods to the west.
Their current location could only be described as the outskirts of the woods; such a vast area would require a team to search.
He said, "Let’s head back first."
Wei Dong nodded respectfully, stealing glances at Ye Jiuliang, filled with curiosity.
So his master preferred this type of woman.
Li Mochan reached for the backpack on Ye Jiuliang’s shoulder and, holding her hand, began to lead her back.
On the way, he kept a smile on his lips, "Won’t you ask me what I’m doing here?"
Kicking pebbles along the path, Ye Jiuliang replied with an unmistakably teasing tone, "Catching mice."
At that, Li Mochan chuckled, disarmed by her response.
How could he forget that his little wolf cub was no ordinary girl.
That little rascal surely had plenty of tricks up her sleeve.
Ye Jiuliang looked around, puzzled about where her fat camel had run off to.
This damn fatty could really make a quick getaway.
"What are you looking for?" Li Mochan asked.
"I bought a camel, and that fatty ran off at the sound of the fighting. Such a lazy and gluttonous creature," Ye Jiuliang said with a laugh.
