Chapter 427. Is the Gossip True? (First Update)
Ji Mingqian’s lips quirked into a smile, his grin spreading confidently, "Never seen a clothing clash before?"
"Cut it out, whose clothing clash looks like yours?" Allen’s skeptical gaze wandered over the two of them as he teased them with a grin.
Others might not be aware, but he knew that these two stayed in the same room last night. Waking up early in the morning and still having a clothing clash face to face? He must be kidding.
"Could it be that the rumor that’s trending online is true?" the girl sitting next to Allen asked excitedly, her eyes sparkling as she looked at Jiang Yisheng.
"You two..."
The trending news of the two huge international celebrities was slightly known by everyone present. The girl’s words also voiced their collective curiosity.
How much truth was there in the rumors that had been circulating for so long?
Gossipy looks made Jiang Yisheng’s skin crawl as he subtly moved back.
If he had known earlier, he should have taken off the sweater.
Ji Mingqian glared at them, "It’s all nonsense. Journalists write whatever they want and you believe it. Can you grow some intelligence?"
He pulled out a chair, gesturing for Jiang Yisheng to sit down, then turned his head toward Allen and his group. "The drinks are in the trunk, hurry up and grab some," he said unapologetically.
Since it was all in jest, the crowd chuckled and didn’t dwell on the matter.
Jiang Yisheng removed his hat and mask, quietly taking his seat.
The bright sunshine poured over his handsome and exquisite features, his lips holding a faint smile, elegant yet hiding an unnoticeable aloofness.
The few girls sitting beside him were mesmerized, with glowing pink hearts nearly visible in their eyes.
Such looks made them all envious.
"Jiang, don’t be reserved. Just have fun. We are all Mingqian’s friends. Let loose and enjoy, don’t worry about anything," seeing Jiang Yisheng slightly restrained, Allen said with a smile, casually grabbing a bottle of juice and offering it to him.
"Here, have a drink."
Jiang Yisheng glanced at the drink being handed to him, lips barely parting, "Thanks..."
But before he could finish, the person beside him intervened, "He’s allergic to pineapple."
His hand with distinct knuckles took away the bottle of pineapple juice, setting it aside, then he passed a bottle of orange juice to Jiang Yisheng.
This was the first time Allen had seen Ji Mingqian take such care of someone. He paused for a second before realizing, and gave Jiang Yisheng an apologetic look, "Sorry, I didn’t know you were allergic to pineapple."
Jiang Yisheng, holding the juice, smiled faintly, "It’s fine."
Knowing Jiang Yisheng’s slow-to-warm-up personality, Ji Mingqian didn’t rush to introduce others to him.
Leaning slightly closer, he whispered into Jiang Yisheng’s ear, "There’s food over there. Do you want to eat something?"
His magnetic voice was close enough to whisper and carried a hint of his distinct, cold breath, causing Jiang Yisheng to gently shake his head, "No need, I’ll just have the juice."
"Mingqian, come pick a horse," the lively voice of a man came from afar.
Ji Mingqian glanced at them and looked back at Jiang Yisheng, "Do you want to ride a couple of rounds?"
"No thanks, you guys go ahead," Jiang Yisheng replied.
They were probably going to race for speed, and he didn’t want to join in the flurry.
Not insisting, Ji Mingqian spoke up, "I’m heading over then. Call me if you need anything."
Jiang Yisheng nodded, and Ji Mingqian fished out his cellphone from his pocket and tossed it to him, "Hold this for me."
Catching the phone that nearly slipped away, when he looked up again, Ji Mingqian had already run off.
"Mingqian, isn’t Jiang playing?" Allen asked, puzzled to see Ji Mingqian coming over alone.
After picking a horse, Ji Mingqian mounted and replied, "He’s not playing."
Allen looked at Jiang Yisheng sitting alone and isolated, a stark contrast to the liveliness of the rest, "Are you just going to leave him sitting there by himself?"
Ji Mingqian tugged on the reins, "It’s okay, he likes the quiet."
Hearing this, Allen didn’t press further.
It had been so long since they last gathered, everyone was going wild, with the sound of horse hooves swooshing past, mingled with laughter.
After a few rounds, Ji Mingqian was too strong, and several people admitted defeat, bowing out graciously.
They took their dates and returned, gradually preparing the things for the barbecue one after another.
Jiang Yisheng was playing with his phone, head down, when suddenly a man’s voice came from across.
"Jiang, do you play video games?"
Jiang Yisheng looked up, and the man handed over a gaming console with a hearty smile on his face.
"Wanna play together?" another person chimed in.
Remembering his own gaming black hole attribute, Jiang Yisheng’s eyes flashed with embarrassment, "Well, I’m not very good at it."
Thinking Jiang Yisheng was just being modest, the man stuffed the gaming console into his hands, "It’s fine, we’re just playing a few rounds to kill time."
The man with the curled hair laughed, "Exactly, it’s not a competition."
Unable to resist their invitation, Jiang Yisheng had no choice but to agree reluctantly.
"Whoosh—" Ji Mingqian pulled on the reins, his tall figure leaning back, the horse’s hooves pacing back and forth on the grass, gradually becoming docile.
Ji Mingqian dismounted, his movements sharp and chic.
He looked at Allen, who was catching up, his eyebrows slightly raised, "Well, are you convinced?"
"Convinced." Allen shook his head and laughed, "How do you guys say it? Oh, right, bowing in the wind."
"Hahaha." With a deep and pleasant voice, Ji Mingqian laughed heartily, letting go of the reins, "Don’t forget our bet, you’re not getting a sip of the good stuff today."
Allen’s smile collapsed at the mention of the bet, his look of grievance surprisingly comical, "Not even a single sip?"
Ji Mingqian couldn’t help but chuckle, patting his back, "Come on, just kidding."
Back at the resting area, he saw a group huddled together, with Jiang Yisheng also surrounded in the middle.
"Hit that side, strike over there."
"Be careful on the left."
"It’s over, there are attacks from the side."
The crowd was chirping away, completely unaware of Ji Mingqian and Allen’s arrival.
"What are you guys playing?" Allen clapped the closest man, asking curiously.
"Playing games, Jiang has lost two rounds in a row." the man with blue hair said.
Jiang Yisheng lost at games?
Ji Mingqian frowned slightly, parting the people in front and squeezed in.
"Jiang Yisheng."
His rich voice called out his name, which to Jiang Yisheng, sounded like a heavenly melody.
Jiang Yisheng looked up at Ji Mingqian, his eyes pleading, which he quite enjoyed.
"Lost again?" Ji Mingqian walked over and naturally sat down beside him.
In the meantime, he glanced at the game console’s screen, where the battle was brutal.
Losing so badly, Jiang Yisheng stuffed the console into his hands, his voice lowered to a whisper, "Help me."
Ji Mingqian chuckled softly, crossing his legs casually, handling the console with ease.
If Jiang Yisheng was Bronze, then Ji Mingqian’s ability was definitely King.
A crowd gathered around out of curiosity. It was already a squeeze for two people on the single sofa, and someone from the side unexpectedly nudged in, causing Jiang Yisheng to stumble sideways due to the inertia.
Instinctively, he reached out to press on Ji Mingqian’s knee, barely steadying himself, saving the embarrassment of a fall to the ground.
