Chapter 443. Check Mo Lingling’s whereabouts (fourth update)
"Ajiu, Master’s ceremonial grave has been destroyed, destroyed," Gu Xinuo’s voice carried a sob.
After their Master passed away that year, his body was cremated, and as per his request, his ashes were sprinkled in the Pear Blossom Forest; hence, the four of them erected a ceremonial grave for him. They never expected it would be destroyed one day.
Ye Jiuliang’s hand, placed on the broken stones, stiffened, her eyebrows and eyes drooping slightly, revealing a trace of coldness.
The silent atmosphere stretched on endlessly.
It was only when her legs became numb that Ye Jiuliang withdrew her hand, her figure slightly moved.
She slowly stood up, her reddened eyes showing a fierce determination.
Her red lips parted, and her voice was unexpectedly calm, "Achen, you and Anuo go back to headquarters first."
Clearly, this was a deliberate scheme; someone had to remain at headquarters to prevent the person behind all this from finding an opportunity.
"Leave this side to Aqian and me."
Having kneeled for several hours, Chu Chen’s legs had long gone numb. As he tried to stand up, his legs gave way, and he almost stumbled.
Fortunately, Ji Mingqian was quick to support him. Chu Chen pressed on his arm, loosened up his legs, and finally stood firm.
He extended his hand to help Gu Xinuo to her feet; she looked slightly pale after being drenched in the rain all night.
Gu Xinuo reached out to grasp Ye Jiuliang’s arm, "Ajiu, I’ll stay here with you."
Ye Jiuliang shook her head, her tone firm, "You and Achen go back first. The headquarters can’t be left unattended now, and I have something I need Aqian’s help with."
Hearing this, Gu Xinuo nodded reluctantly.
"Ajiu," Chu Chen lifted his hand and patted Ye Jiuliang’s shoulder; his voice was so hoarse it was barely recognizable.
No need for more words, Ye Jiuliang understood his meaning, "I know."
"Once we locate the enemy, the four of us will go together, and we’ll settle this account with them in full, with interest."
They all nodded.
After Chu Chen and Gu Xinuo left, Ye Jiuliang had someone bring a bag to collect all the smashed pieces of the tombstone.
Ji Mingqian also helped, as neither of them wanted to involve others in this matter.
After placing the bag securely on the plane, Ye Jiuliang looked at the burned Pear Blossom Forest, her eyes devoid of warmth.
"Ajiu, the Pear Blossom Forest is gone," Ji Mingqian’s voice was hoarse with emotion.
Their Master’s favorite place had always been this Pear Blossom Forest.
It was in this Pear Blossom Forest that he taught them martial arts, reprimanded them, and where they most enjoyed secretly drinking the fine wine personally brewed by their Master.
Ye Jiuliang pursed her lips, hiding the sorrow in her eyes, "If it’s gone, we’ll plant another, and while we’re at it, let’s plant a few peach trees. Master loved peaches the most."
Ji Mingqian nodded vigorously, "Okay."
The two stood in the Pear Blossom Forest for a long while before finally turning to leave.
Back on the plane, they did not leave right away.
The sound of keyboard tapping filled the air, with Ye Jiuliang sitting next to Ji Mingqian, her gaze fixed on the computer screen.
Suddenly, as if struck by a thought, she said, "Aqian, check where Mo Lingling is now."
The tapping of Ji Mingqian’s fingers on the keyboard halted, and he glanced sideward at her, "Do you suspect Mo Lingling?"
Ye Jiuliang spoke, "This island’s location is so secretive, only a few of us knew about it, outsiders couldn’t possibly know unless there was a leak."
Upon hearing this, Ji Mingqian’s handsome face darkened as he started to track down Mo Lingling’s recent movements.
After a moment, the atmosphere turned silent momentarily.
Ji Mingqian’s expression grew cold, she indeed had gone missing.
"Ajiu, there’s no sighting of her at the airport either; it seems someone took her away."
Ye Jiuliang pressed her lips together. Mo Lingling was generous with money, yet her bank card hadn’t been used for several days. It looked like she had found someone else to rely on.
