Ye Jiuliang stretched out her hand, and upon closer inspection, her fingertips were trembling.

A few seconds passed before her hand fell limply.

She slowly lowered her head, a flush of red tinging the corners of her eyes.

"Li Mochan, I’ll go to Beisen tomorrow to take care of the withdrawal procedures and roast that big white goose from Mo Garden to eat before I return to Country Y."

Her hoarse voice gradually turned into a choke, "Li Mochan, are you still holding a grudge against me for the time I left you behind, so you keep scaring me, huh?"

Then there was a terrifying silence; there was neither the man’s low chuckle nor his cool and refreshing voice.

Mist filled her eyes, and the tears she had been holding back could be restrained no longer, falling like pearls off a string.

Ye Jiuliang clutched his hand tightly, burying her head into the brocade covers, where her cold tears bloomed on the purple fabric, leaving faint traces.

Her soft sobs echoed through the room, stirring an ache in one’s heart.

"Little rascal, why are you crying?" came a low and husky voice, sounding weak and feeble.

There was a moment of stiffness in her hunched back, and then suddenly, Ye Jiuliang raised her head, her eyes filled with moisture.

Their eyes met.

The man’s affectionate gaze was as familiar as ever.

Ye Jiuliang was immediately stupefied, her brain freezing for a few seconds.

Until the man’s cool fingertips touched her cheek, "Why cry, I’m right here, aren’t I?"

Ye Jiuliang finally came back to her senses, hurriedly helping him sit up.

During this time, she couldn’t bear to take her eyes off his face for even a moment.

Fearing that with a blink, this would all turn into a dream.

She asked anxiously, "Mohan, are you still feeling uncomfortable anywhere, does your head still hurt? You..."

Before she could finish, the man’s sturdy arms pulled her into an embrace.

Ye Jiuliang tumbled onto his lap, her delicate face crashing into his chest, as the sense of security returned once more.

Li Mochan wrapped his arms around her waist, his thin lips against her hair, whispering softly, "It’s my fault, let me be punished, okay?"

The words ’I’m sorry’ were too pale and weak between them, they were never needed.

"Do you know you scared me to death, I thought you had really left me behind," Ye Jiuliang pulled on his collar, her tears of joy flowing.

Li Mochan chuckled with a sound of intoxication, "How could I bear to leave behind the wolf cub I went to great lengths to bring home?"

His rich, warm laughter entered her ears, and Ye Jiuliang stood there stunned, dully lifting her head.

"What did you just call me?"

Looking into his deep, ink-like eyes, a flutter began awakening inside her.

Seeing the disbelief on her face, Li Mochan felt a pang of heartache, raising his hand to gently flick her nose, "Wolf cub, we won’t raise big white geese anymore; it’s time we raised a baby."

His memory loss had caused his wolf cub such heartache and sorrow, and because of him, his wolf cub had even slept on the snowy ground—it was all his fault.

With a bang, it was as if countless fireworks burst inside her head.

Ye Jiuliang’s smile slowly formed, her hand reaching up to touch his face.

Still somewhat in disbelief about his regained memory, she tentatively asked, "What did I give you on your birthday banquet?"

"Two bottles of liquor, and you climbed onto the roof again," he said.

At his words, Ye Jiuliang’s smile blossomed, wet teardrops still clinging to her curled lashes.

She suddenly stretched out her hands to embrace his neck, all the grievances and fears that had been sealed deep inside her heart gushed out like unstoppable floodwaters.

"Li Mochan, do you know how cold it is in the snow, do you know how afraid I am that you will never remember who I am, do you know it snowed that day, and you didn’t do what you promised me."

"You remember everything about me, why did you forget me."

The tears she had been holding back spread again, continuously hitting his shoulder, scalding his heart.

Li Mochan’s hand around her waist tightened continuously, his thin lips against her ear, "Then let me make it up to you, okay? I’ll make fried chicken legs for you tomorrow, buy you hot and sour noodles, take you to buy motorcycles, many, many of them, okay? Fill our garage with them."

Ye Jiuliang cracked a tearful smile, naughtily wiping her tears on his clothes.

"You said it, buying me motorcycles, lots and lots of them."

Seeing her finally laugh, Li Mochan sighed in relief, raised his hand to wipe away the tears on her face, "Okay, I’ll buy them for you."

His gaze fell upon the ring on his hand, and he then remembered they were already married, "The proposal I owe you, I haven’t had a chance to follow through, I..."

"I don’t want those, I just want you," Ye Jiuliang interrupted him, hugging him tightly again.

All she wanted was him, nothing else mattered.

Li Mochan chuckled, his hand caressing her head, a meaningful smile sliding through his eyes, "Little wolfie, I seem to have heard you say that if I woke up today, you would have babies with me."

Overjoyed, Ye Jiuliang readily agreed, "Mhm, have a child that’s just like you."

At her words, the smile in Li Mochan’s eyes grew even more intense.

The two of them snuggled up together, quietly enjoying this hard-won warmth.

After a while, he looked around, his eyes narrowing dangerously, his tone turning ominous, "Where’s Ji Mingqian, that guy?"

Wanting to steal his little wolfie and also coveting his baby.

He was very inflated with pride.

"Er..." Ye Jiuliang gave a dry laugh, shifting the topic, "Let’s go home, grandma and the others must be worried at home."

Li Mochan hummed in agreement, settling the score was a matter for another day.

The night was cool like water, just as the two arrived at the club’s private garage, they ran into Ji Mingqian coming back with dinner for Ye Jiuliang.

Seeing the person next to Ye Jiuliang, Ji Mingqian thought he was seeing things.

He rubbed his eyes; the tall figure across from him was still there.

Not an illusion?

Li Mochan was awake?

"Ji Mingqian."

A chillingly cold voice hit him head-on, making Ji Mingqian shiver.

He took a subtle step back, raising the takeout bag, "Li Mochan, let’s be clear, it took a lot of effort for you to wake up so quickly, I should at least be considered a major contributor, you can’t repay kindness with malice."

Ji Mingqian had always been soberly aware of the fact that he was no match for Li when it came to martial prowess.

"Isn’t that right, Ajiu?"

Ye Jiuliang tugged up the corners of her lips lightly, "Why are you asking me, I don’t know anything."

"Ye Jiuliang, you..." Ji Mingqian’s eyes widened; it seemed he owed this couple from a past life, was this really how you repay kindness?

In the dim light, Li Mochan’s deep dark eyes glinted with murderous intent as Ji Mingqian quickly backed away.

Ye Jiuliang laughed lightly, "Alright, come with us to Mo Garden, let’s go for a drink and some late-night snacks."

With that, the cold light shifted away from him, Ji Mingqian breathed a sigh of relief, his face once again wearing a careless smile, "Let’s go, I’ll drive you guys back."

Selecting a black sedan at random, Ji Mingqian opened the door and sat in the driver’s seat.

Ye Jiuliang and Li Mochan exchanged a smile, and then both sat in the backseat together.
