Chapter 1442: Enemy Raid

Ling Chen looked at Diana, and Diana also subconsciously glanced at General Ling Chen a few times.

Seeing no injuries on him, she felt relieved.

"General, I have an emergency to tell you!" Diana said immediately.

"No need, I already know everything." Ling Chen glanced at Diana and interrupted her.

At this moment, the captain had already come out from the karst cave, escorting the nearly hysterical female general.

"General, your foresight is divine; she is indeed the traitor."

The priest looked at the female general being escorted by the Longyan Soldiers, an expression of disbelief appearing in his eyes.

He had not expected everything to be true; just as he had suspected, the female general was a traitor.

On the way back, he had been repeatedly hypnotizing himself.

He had even given Ling Chen his word on the way, but looking at the situation now, any explanation seemed pale and weak.

"Was anything interrogated out of her?" Ling Chen asked in a deep voice.

"No, but she has already sent a signal to the Austria Jun, and I fear an Austrian assault force will be here shortly."

Hearing this news, Ling Chen revealed a smile: "Good, give the order to move out, all personnel enter combat readiness."

The fish has taken the bait; now it is time to pull in the net.

This group of Austria Jun has been lying in ambush for so long just waiting for the Longyan Soldiers; presumably, the priest seeing them transport grain and fodder that day was not fake.

It was that there really were troops ambushed here, needing those supplies!

"Yes!"

The captain immediately executed Ling Chen's order, and soon nearly ten thousand Longyan Soldiers entered combat readiness.

Diana, on the other hand, was puzzled, wondering why they were not retreating.

It was clear they did not know the enemy's strength; if they waited here for the enemy to attack, wasn't that just waiting for death?

"General, are we not retreating?"

"No retreat." Having finally hooked a big fish, how could Ling Chen retreat?

As long as these Austria Jun are wiped out, the grain and fodder can be harvested, which can solve the urgent needs of the Longyan Soldiers!

Ling Chen looked at Diana and said calmly: "You only need to tell me where those Austria Jun are located."

Diana was slightly stunned; General Ling Chen actually intended to start a war!

It was night, and they were in the jungle; the environment was extremely harsh.

And not knowing the enemy's situation, starting a war now...

The danger factor was several times higher than in the daytime.

Even if they knew the location of the Austria Jun, so what? The enemy was clearly prepared.

If they attacked rashly, it would definitely cause huge losses.

Diana took a long breath and still said: "They are on the other side of the valley; there is a pool inside the karst cave, and one can pass directly through the valley via the pool."

Ling Chen nodded, recalling the topographical map he had drawn earlier.

This valley was not that large; to reach the other side of the valley quickly, one had to pass through the jungle quickly, but the Longyan Soldiers had not explored that deep into the jungle.

They had only explored the surrounding environment.

Ling Chen pondered for a moment and instantly had a response plan.

Now the Austria Jun were exposed in the open; although their firepower deployment and personnel numbers were unknown.

The probability of a sneak attack through the pool had become very low.

The pool had already been discovered; even if they could sneak attack, they wouldn't dare. As soon as they poked their heads out, they would definitely be taken out by a gunshot!

Then the only place the Austria Jun could attack from now was through the jungle!

This made things much simpler.

Ling Chen immediately gave the order: "Longyan Special Forces, step forward!"

The establishment of the Longyan Special Forces was also because of Liu Zheng; this was a very special group of people in the army, specifically for executing decapitation and behind-enemy-lines missions.

Their skills were

exceptional.

Among the ten thousand people Ling Chen brought, there was one such small team.

Their captain was the captain in charge of security.

Fifteen people quickly stepped forward. Ling Chen scanned them and said directly: "You circle to the rear of the enemy and be ready to execute a decapitation mission at any time!"

"Yes, General!"

"The rest of you, retreat with me to the natural karst cave; one team guards the pool, and the others guard the entrance to the karst cave!"

Ling Chen rapidly issued one military order after another; every one of the ten thousand Longyan Soldiers had their own task.

Thanks to the drawn topographical map, Ling Chen had stationed many Longyan Soldiers in some of the weaker areas.

The night was still pitch black.

But the valley was now unusually calm.

At this moment, the Longyan Soldiers hidden in the dark were like hunters, quietly waiting for the prey to arrive.

Diana, the priest, and the other Protestants were protected in the middle by the Longyan Soldiers inside the karst cave.

This was the safest place; as long as the Longyan Soldiers were not defeated, there would be no danger here.

This was also the most dangerous place; if the Longyan Soldiers were routed, there would be nowhere to escape!

On the other side of the valley, ever since the traitor sent the signal, an Austrian soldier had taken the lead.

But a long time had passed, and there was not a single response.

They must have met with misfortune; the Austrian general commanding this unit felt his heart sink.

He had not expected the Longyan Army and this group of dispirited Protestants to discover the traitor so quickly.

The army had already been exposed.

The Austrian general sighed; their mission was to leave this Longyan Army here for good.

To ambush this Longyan Army, the Austrian side had gone to great pains.

There was inducement, there was the use of Protestantism, all with the goal of annihilating the Longyan Army that had come looking for the Protestants!

However, with the conspiracy exposed and this army coming out into the open, there was no need to continue hiding.

Now, the only option was to go to war with the Longyan Army and, while they had not yet completed their deployment, quickly catch them off guard.

Fortunately, he had a backup plan.

It was the jungle in the valley; now that it was dark, he could use the jungle to launch a sneak attack.

To ensure there were no traces of his march in the jungle, the Austrian general had gone to great lengths.

Now, it was all being put to use.

Even if the Longyan Army knew, he could still march quickly through the jungle and catch them off guard!

The Austrian general did not hesitate much and directly ordered: "Attack the valley!"

The Austrian Army quickly entered the jungle.

The Austrian general let out a laugh; according to intelligence sent by scouts, the Longyan Army had only brought ten thousand men this time.

And on his side, he had ambushed a full thirty thousand men.

Although their equipment was not as sophisticated as the Longyan's, it was not bad either, and in order to leave the Longyan Army here for good, he had even found a Method to mobilize three Cannon.

Although they were difficult to transport, Cannon were currently the equipment with the strongest firepower.

If they could be utilized in jungle warfare, it would be absolutely terrifying!

The Austrian Army advanced through the jungle in the dark of night; although it was night, they were exceptionally familiar with the jungle.

Very soon, they arrived at the encampment of the Longyan Army.

But he immediately frowned; there should have been trees and jungle here, but at this moment it was bare—where were there any trees or jungle?
