Chapter 1815: Mission

~7 min read 1,211 words

At this moment, Egypt.

Nashadier returned to the Wahala Tribe.

Henry gave him a warm embrace.

"Nashadier, from today on, you will be the hero of our Egypt."

Nashadier smiled and shook his head: "Henry, you know why I came to find you this time."

He turned around to look at the people of the Wahala Tribe.

The crowd shouted in unison: "For Egypt, to drive the French out!"

Nashadier looked at Henry and saluted him.

Henry had long since agreed to Nashadier's request; the corners of his mouth lifted involuntarily as he picked up his horsewhip and patted Nashadier on the shoulder: "Why not? Brother!"

Cheers erupted from within the Wahala Tribe!

They were going to follow the Warrior they recognized in their hearts and raise their butcher knives against those hateful French.

Drive those detestable colonists out!

But just at this moment, a voice rang out abruptly.

"You want to go fight the French troops, I do not agree!"

Swish! Swish! Swish!

The crowd nodded one after another, their expressions changing drastically as they looked over.

The air fell into silence; the clamor from just a moment ago seemed as if it had never existed.

They looked at this man nervously.

Every step he took closer felt like a mountain hanging in mid-air above their heads, about to come crashing down.

Nashadier frowned and asked Henry: "Who is this person?"

Henry said as if facing a formidable enemy: "He is our tribe's Commander, second only to our tribe's Commander."

Commander Alexander walked over, took one look at Henry, and then glanced at Nashadier beside him.

He moved his feet slightly and walked toward Nashadier; Henry's hand had already gripped his sword hilt, because in his view, the Commander had already betrayed the tribe.

The only ones unwilling to fight the French were wives who felt heartache for their husbands and children afraid of losing their fathers.

The other men of the Wahala Tribe were all soldiers, all Warriors.

They had long since reached the limit of their patience with the French!

Especially now that news had broken out that their tribal chief had very likely already died at the hands of the French.

This was something they absolutely could not tolerate.

The Commander reached out his hand and gently stroked the Big Black Horse: "Black horse, I never thought you would become someone else's mount now."

The Big Black Horse was his favorite War Horse, bar none, but the Big Black Horse

was too fierce.

The Commander had not tamed it.

The Commander looked at Nashadier: "You tamed it?"

Nashadier nodded without speaking.

The Commander smiled and said: "You are a decent Warrior, to actually be able to tame even the Big Black Horse."

He reluctantly pulled his hand away and turned around to face Nashadier directly.

"But you should not lead the people of our tribe to fight the French!"

"You are sending our tribe to its doom; as the Commander of this tribe, I will absolutely not let you do such a thing!"

The crowd remained silent.

Nashadier sneered repeatedly.

Henry's face was gloomy.

The Commander looked at them, faced the crowd, and shouted in a deep voice: "You probably still don't know who Nashadier is; to tell you the truth, he is a man of Longyan!"

"A general of Longyan!"

"Now the Longyan are also attacking the French, and he is here inciting you to fight the French just to get a reward from his masters for this Longyan dog."

The crowd was in an uproar, looking at Nashadier in astonishment.

Henry had already received a hint from Nashadier beforehand and was not too surprised.

Nashadier, however, said nothing.

The Commander snorted coldly, his gaze fixed firmly on Nashadier, and said in a deep voice: "Longyan is now at war with the French, yet they also want us to contribute?"

"What will we get? Driving away the French only to let the Longyan come and rule us—our lives won't change at all."

"It's just swapping the French for the Longyan, and we still have to pay the price for this war."

"Our tribe's soldiers not only have to pay with their lives but also have to believe they are fighting for their own noble convictions; such a thing is simply ridiculous."

The crowd was in a state of collapse; they looked at Nashadier, urgently wanting to know the answer from this man's mouth.

An answer that could convince them.

They did not believe that the Nashadier they trusted, who rose up to resist for the sake of Egypt, was a subordinate of the Longyan.

They did not believe that their resistance against the French would end up being manipulated by the Longyan, or even end up serving as a wedding dress for the Longyan.

They looked at the silent Nashadier.

He sneered, stared at the Commander, and said indifferently: "I do have cooperation with the Longyan, and I even possess an army

fostered by the Longyan."

"My general title was also conferred by the Longyan."

The crowd felt as if struck by a bolt of lightning, feeling their entire world collapsing.

"Why, Nashadier? You are our Egypt's hero."

Nashadier took the opportunity to sweep his gaze over the crowd and said in a deep voice, "Do you think that if we do not rely on the Longyan or other countries, our Egypt's current strength can truly restore Egypt?"

"Tribal infighting, backward technology; Cairo, once Egypt's proudest city, has fallen successively into the hands of the British and the Longyan."

"Some who call themselves Warriors cannot even manage to resist!"

"Under such circumstances, how can we restore the nation by relying solely on us Arabs?"

"Rely on what to restore the nation?"

"Rely on imagination?"

"The Longyan help us, it is merely cooperation with us, but the French will plunder our tribesmen, our wives!"

"Among these choices, you choose one: do you choose cooperation, or do you choose to be enslaved?"

"To tell you the truth, the Longyan troops have come to help us restore Egypt's territory, not to colonize, and you should know the difference between the two."

"Driving the French out is our Egypt's goal; Henry has long known that I am a Longyan general, so do as you think best."

"Those who want to fight the French with me, set off now; Egypt needs us!"

Nashadier leaped onto his horse and ignored them.

The choice was in their hands; Nashadier rode away.

Henry glanced at the crowd, mounted his horse, and left, leaving behind only one sentence: "Commander, I have long known Nashadier's identity; he is an Arab, and he wants to restore Egypt, that is enough."

After saying this, he rode away, and the crowd watched him.

Hesitant, but in the end, everyone made their own choice; a portion of the Wahala Tribe Warriors, in order to drive the French out, followed Henry and Nashadier.

Another portion of the people felt that the Longyan were also just using them, so they stayed behind.

The Commander watched as not everyone followed Nashadier, and he gave a cold laugh; they looked at those who had not left, while calculating other matters in their hearts.

Regardless, the task the French had given him was considered achieved.
