Chapter 593

~2 min read 309 words

Locke looked at the scene before him, feeling somewhat displeased. Although he had come to this port to seek help, he was not here to do good deeds.

He only wanted to find an opportunity to reclaim his honor and regain the dignity that had been trampled upon.

"Are you the Denzel brothers?" Locke walked forward and asked.

"Yes, I am Denzel!" the man in black, Denzel, roared. "Who are you? What are you doing here?"

"I am a traveling merchant passing by. I heard you arguing, so I came to see what was happening," Locke said with a smile.

"Oh, a traveling merchant passing by?" Denzel's gaze turned gloomy. "You don't like the look of us, is that it?"

"I didn't mean that," Locke explained patiently. "I just wanted to know what happened and if there was anything I could help with."

"You want to help?" Denzel laughed loudly. "I think you'd better forget it; this isn't a place you should be."

The smile on Locke's face gradually faded; he sensed that this person was not easy to deal with. He had not expected that approaching this stranger so rashly might be dangerous.

"Fine, I'll take your advice." Locke intended to turn and leave.

"Wait..." Denzel suddenly stopped and frowned. "You are a strange person; you don't seem like an ordinary traveler."

"What do you mean?" Locke feigned confusion.

"Your eyes are cold and resolute, unlike anyone else's," Denzel said slowly. "I can feel a power deep within your heart—it makes you unwilling to be mediocre, unwilling to be bound."

"..." Locke did not speak, only looking at Denzel with his gaze.

"If you really want to know what we are arguing about, then tell me what you want," Denzel said.

"I want to find a job; perhaps you can help me," Locke threw out a probing question.
