Chapter 619: Hawkeye and Locke!
However, he also knew Hawkeye was a very powerful opponent, so he decided to go and see what Hawkeye wanted.
Thus, Locke followed Hawkeye out of the tavern and arrived at a quiet place. Hawkeye poured two glasses of wine from a wine bag and handed one to Locke: "Come, have a drink."
Locke took the wine glass, smelled it, and discovered it was a type of wine he had never tasted before. He looked up at Hawkeye and found Hawkeye's gaze very deep, making one feel a sense of pressure involuntarily.
"This is a very precious wine," Hawkeye said. "I hope you can enjoy it well."
Locke smiled, then raised his wine glass: "Thank you for your hospitality, Hawkeye. I will savor the taste of this wine."
The two drank the wine at the same time; Locke felt a warm current flow into his body, and his body gradually became warm.
"This wine is very good," Locke said. "I have never tasted such delicious wine."
"You are a very interesting person," Hawkeye said. "I like chatting with you."
"Thank you," Locke smiled. "I also think you are a very interesting person."
Their conversation gradually became deeper; Locke discovered that Hawkeye was actually a very intelligent and thoughtful person. They discussed many topics about justice and freedom, and Locke discovered that there were actually many common points between himself and Hawkeye.
However, as they drank more, Locke began to feel somewhat intoxicated. He started saying some inappropriate things and began to provoke Hawkeye.
"You are a Navy Admiral, but you don't understand true justice," Locke said. "You are just a slave brainwashed by the government."
Hearing this, Hawkeye frowned slightly; he knew he could not tolerate Locke's disrespect. But he still remained calm, avoiding being emotional as much as possible.
"Locke, you have courage, but your words are not correct," Hawkeye said. "I believe the government exists to maintain peace and justice; our duty is to protect the safety and interests of the people."
"Protect the people?" Locke sneered. "Your so-called protection is just oppressing the people and depriving them of their freedom and rights. The Pirate King is the true justice; they represent the power of freedom and justice."
"Pirate King?" Hawkeye sneered. "They are just a bunch of pirates; their so-called freedom and justice are just excuses to cover up their own crimes."
"You don't understand!" Locke said. "The meaning of the Pirate King transcends your imagination; they represent a spirit and a belief. They do not submit to any regime or oppression; they live and travel freely, fighting for their own dreams."
"Then what is your dream?" Hawkeye asked. "Is it just to defeat the government and the Navy?"
"No, our dream is more far-reaching," Locke said. "We hope to find true freedom and justice; we hope to change this world so that everyone can live freely and pursue their own dreams."
Hawkeye was silent for a while; he knew the differences between himself and Locke could not be reconciled. But he still hoped to let Locke understand his position.
"Locke, I am not as you imagine; I also have my own dreams and beliefs," Hawkeye said. "I believe in freedom and justice, but I also believe in the power of the government and the military. Our positions are different, but we both hope to bring a better future to this world."
