Chapter 685

"We are not that type of human."

Locke walked out and said to the fish-man patriarch, "We won't plunder your resources, nor will we destroy your environment. We are just here to find our partner; we hope to be able to live in peace with you."

"I am very gratified that you can say such things." The fish-man patriarch softened his tone slightly, "However, the fish-men on this island are full of hostility toward humans; this is a legacy of history. You need to have proof, proof that you are humans who can live in peace with us."

"What proof?" Zoro asked.

"We need you to rescue a fish-man who has been imprisoned by humans." The fish-man patriarch said, "His name is Bagel; he is our friend and also our hero. If you can rescue him, we will consider you humans who can live in peace with us."

"Bagel?" Luffy remembered their mission, "We are exactly here to find Bagel's whereabouts; we will definitely go and rescue him!"

The Straw Hat Pirates decided to accept the fish-man patriarch's challenge and head out to rescue the imprisoned fish-man Bagel.

They arrived at an abandoned underwater prison, which was once the fish-men's place of imprisonment and had now been occupied by a human pirate crew. The Straw Hat Pirates decided to take action and engage in a fierce battle with the pirate crew.

"Brother Locke, you control the seawater, I'll handle these guys!" Luffy shouted, drawing his Straw Hat sword.

"No problem!" Locke responded, using his Teigu power, controlling the seawater and wind, to provide support for Luffy.

Luffy engaged in a fierce battle with the pirate crew's leader. He used the power of the Straw Hat sword to defeat the pirate crew's members one by one. Locke controlled the seawater and wind, dragging the pirate crew's ship into a whirlpool. His Teigu power became increasingly strong, leaving the opponents unable to withstand it.

"You guys, who exactly are you?" The pirate crew leader glared at the Straw Hat Pirates, "Why come and destroy our business?"

"We are just here to find our partner; we won't let you harm the fish-man race." Luffy answered, "We will protect the fish-man race and live in peace with them."

"Then let's see if you have the ability!" The pirate crew leader roared and lunged at Luffy.

The battle between Luffy and the pirate crew leader became increasingly intense; they attacked each other and defended against each other. Luffy used the power of the Straw Hat sword to continuously slash at his opponent, while the pirate crew leader used his Devil Fruit ability to create various dangerous attacks.

"Brother Locke, give me some time!" Luffy shouted.

"No problem!" Locke responded, controlling the seawater and wind, providing more support for Luffy.

Luffy seized the opportunity and used his finishing move—Three-Sword Style: Nine Dragons. He used the power of the Straw Hat sword to slash at the pirate crew leader one sword after another, defeating him.

After the pirate crew leader was defeated, the Straw Hat Pirates finally found the imprisoned fish-man Bagel. They rescued Bagel and brought him back to Fish-Man Island. The fish-man patriarch saw that they had successfully completed the mission and developed trust and respect for them.

"You are true heroes!" The fish-man patriarch said with emotion, "You proved that you are humans who can live in peace with us."
