Chapter 5: Eating Together 1

At the school gate, the Student Council was on duty; boarding students could not leave unless they had a leave note from the homeroom teacher.

I was a little scared; it was my first time going out without a leave note from the homeroom teacher.

However, Shangguan Yun walked swaggeringly. As we neared the school gate, I became a bit timid.

"It's fine, let's go." Shangguan Yun seemed to see through my thoughts, taking my hand and saying to me.

I struggled, but unexpectedly Shangguan Yun gripped even tighter. I eventually gave up.

Being led by Shangguan Yun's big hand felt warm.

Upon reaching the gate, Shangguan Yun naturally greeted the guard, saying, "Have you eaten?"

"I already ate, but today seems late," the guard said to Shangguan Yun with a smile, like chatting with a friend.

"Waiting for the beauty," Shangguan Qu said, raising the corner of his mouth and glancing at me.

As for me, I immediately turned my face away, not daring to look directly at them.

I have to admit, Shangguan Yun is really handsome; his smile is so charming yet still elegant.

Thus, we safely walked out of the school gate like that.

After leaving the school gate, I took a deep breath hard; usually only on weekends could we come and go freely, normally it's hard to get out of the school gate, but now that we're out, of course I should gulp several mouthfuls of outside air.

Shangguan Yun looked at me proudly, smiled, and then said, "The cafeteria food is really not fit for humans."

"It's pretty hard to eat," I blurted out.

After saying that, I felt a bit regretful, then shook off Shangguan Yun's hand and ran to walk beside Lili.

Shangguan Yun merely glanced at me.

While eating, they chatted happily, but I sat there like a put-upon young wife, quietly scooping rice, hardly lifting my head.

Suddenly, Shangguan Yun placed a side dish in my bowl and then said, "Eat more vegetables, you're too thin."

Hearing his words, I lifted my head, glanced at him, smiled faintly, and my eyes showed endless tenderness.

I immediately lowered my head to eat again; perhaps he was using these methods to win girls' hearts.

After finishing the meal, Shangguan Yun asked me to go out for a stroll with him, but I refused.

Shangguan Yun merely saw me back to school; Lili and I entered the school, and they left.
