Suddenly he said to me: "Honey, that card of mine, do you have it on you? Can you lend it to me for a moment?"

I asked, bewildered: "What's up? I always carry it around; it's yours anyway, why say borrow? It's in my bag, go get it yourself." I said lazily while leaning on the sofa.

"I handed that card to you that day and left it in your care; half of it is yours too." Shangguan Yun said while walking inside.

After entering the room, a moment later I heard Shangguan Yun's voice speaking; I guessed he was on the phone with someone. Out of curiosity, I pricked up my ears to listen: "This month, send me some more money. I have an urgent need."

I heard Shangguan Yun say coldly.

Shangguan Yun asked the other party to send money; I guessed it was his parents.

Later, I heard Shangguan Yun's voice: "I understand. If you really care about me, you shouldn't keep leaving me alone at home all day. Fine, you don't need to worry about my affairs."

This seemed to be Shangguan Yun's last sentence.

Shangguan Yun came out quickly; after coming out, he had a smile on his face. I really couldn't tell whether those icy words just now were really from him, with not a trace of warmth, yet right there he could smile at me so brightly.

"Shangguan Yun, what do you need the card for? And who were you just talking to on the phone?" I asked nosily.

"Oh, I just called my dad to ask him to send me money. I'm going out for a bit; I have something to do, I'll be right back." Shangguan Yun said, then prepared to leave. I didn't know what it was, why he urgently needed money and had to rush out.

I quickly grabbed Shangguan Yun's clothes and said: "Where are you going? Can I go with you?"

"I'm just going out for a bit; I'll be back soon, within half an hour at most. Stay home and wait for me—aren't you still sore down there? Besides, I'm not going out to play, just a little errand. Be good, wait for me at home, okay?" Shangguan Yun said, turning to look at me.

I don't know why, but when Shangguan Yun said that, I felt an inexplicable sense of loss. Why wouldn't he tell me where he was going, what he was doing, and why he needed his dad to send him extra money?
