Chapter 1472: Supplies Hidden at Mountain Fifty-One

"Broken-Waist, take a good look."

Xia Qing pointed at the punishment clauses below and let Broken-Waist Wolf see them clearly. "Once you're judged guilty of interfering with a hunt, according to Article Three, Clause Two, Sub-clause One, you have to compensate me three to five times the points. According to Article Two, you won't be allowed to hunt in public hunting zones for at least one month."

After explaining the punishment clauses in the rules, Xia Qing continued to educate this fellow who risked his life for points. "You suddenly jumped out to snatch my prey just now. If I hadn't recognized you and had pulled the trigger, I could have wounded or killed you. That's extremely dangerous behavior — you can't do that again in the future. Got it?"

Broken-Waist Wolf stared at the rules with a thoughtful look, raised a paw, and pushed the prey on the snow — which had stopped twitching — toward Xia Qing. Then he lifted his head and showed her his little fang tips again.

Xia Qing understood. She closed the rules and confirmed, "Broken-Waist, what you mean is that you weren't here to snatch my prey, but to help, so you didn't violate the rules and you're not a criminal wolf?"

The clever Broken-Waist Wolf immediately showed Xia Qing all four little fang tips, grinning especially happily.

As expected of the idol's top disciple — quick on the uptake! Xia Qing was all smiles too. "Handsome Wolf Bro really is Handsome Wolf Bro — not only clever, but very law-abiding too. But…"

Rules had to be established in one go, otherwise this fellow would do the same thing next time. Xia Qing's expression shifted as she solemnly announced, "This time I could catch this prey on my own. I didn't invite you to team up, and I didn't ask for your help, so I don't have to pay you any points."

Broken-Waist Wolf immediately shut his mouth and stared solemnly at Xia Qing.

"You don't agree?"

Broken-Waist Wolf showed his classic thoughtful expression. Clearly, he was working hard to analyze the current situation.

"Broken-Waist, want to think about it a bit more, or should we follow the rules and gather all members of the Blue Star Arbitration Committee to arbitrate this incident? I'll video-call Her Majesty the Queen, Third Brother, Fourth Brother, and Zhang Song right now?"

Broken-Waist Wolf looked at Xia Qing, then at the prey on the ground, thoughtful.

More and more scavenging birds gathered in the air. Xia Qing confirmed they were coming for her side, not Hearing Zhu Li's, so she didn't move the corpse on the ground. She held her sniper rifle and quietly waited for Broken-Waist Wolf to figure it out himself.

Xia Qing could still tell which mattered more.

If she didn't collect the corpse, the scent of blood might attract even larger raptors among the scavenging birds, who could come snatch the prey. If they dared come, all Xia Qing would waste was a few sniper rounds. But if Broken-Waist Wolf couldn't figure out the logic of this, she might lose this important ally in the future.

After a full five minutes, Broken-Waist Wolf confirmed that this time his strike wouldn't earn him any of the supplies, not even points for helping. He drooped his head and lay down beside the prey, looking pitifully at Xia Qing.

Acting cute? This old lady doesn't fall for that!

Xia Qing spoke calmly. "Broken-Waist figured it out? Very good. You must remember this failure — in the future, don't suddenly jump out in public hunting zones to snatch prey from right under another lord's nose. I'll go back and tally the haul from this fight with my teammates. You keep hunting."

After saying that, Xia Qing finally packed the nearly frozen corpse on the ground into a bag and carried it back.

Broken-Waist Wolf didn't go hunting. Instead, he drooped his ears and followed behind Xia Qing, until he spotted another human ahead, then stopped and circled to the downwind side to observe from afar.

Seeing Xia Qing finally return, Hearing Zhu Li immediately reported, "Sister Qing, I tested and confirmed that the three corpses' protective suits and blood contain no toxins, so I packed the corpses into bags and buried the blood on the ground with snow."

"Good work." For Hearing Zhu Li's first mission, having performance like this was already outstanding. Captain Xia Qing pointed at the smallest bag and made arrangements. "You take this corpse. Let's head to that cave up ahead to tally the supplies, then pack them up. Bring the corpses back too and hand them to the inspection team."

"Got it!"

After Xia Qing bundled the three corpses together and hoisted them on her back, Hearing Zhu Li easily shouldered the hundred-plus-jin bag and followed behind Xia Qing, unable to wait to report the intel she'd gathered before the fight. "From the conversation of those three men and one woman, I got this information: they're a bounty hunter squad from Huiyi Base. Their main income before was clearing obstacles for the Blaze Battle Team. The rewards Blaze Battle Team is offering now have dropped by a big chunk, so they planned to capture you alive as a stepping stone and find new ways to earn points."

The more Hearing Zhu Li spoke, the angrier she got. "They think that even though you're a top sniper, your close-combat ability is weak. Their plan was to use sniping and shelling to drive you toward an advanced elastic evolver, and let him capture you alive!"

Xia Qing asked, "Did they say who they were going to hand me over to?"

Hearing Zhu Li answered, "No. They just said to take you back to Mountain Fifty-One and hide you there first, wait out the heat, then move on. Let's check their phones — we should find something."

Mountain Fifty-One? Not good!

Xia Qing immediately stopped, pulled out her phone, and called a certain unscrupulous wolf.

The ringtone went on for a full eight seconds before it connected. The screen showed a patch of deep blue sky and a big nose exhaling puffs of hot air. Judging by the size of the hot air clouds on screen, Xia Qing knew this fellow — who had just been following behind her — was running!

Xia Qing asked coldly, "Brother Duan running so fast — surely not off to Mountain Fifty-One to look for the supplies where my prey hid them?"

Hearing Zhu Li immediately stood back-to-back with Xia Qing, gripping her pistol and searching for the eavesdropper — the hearing evolver surnamed Duan who had overheard her words.

How dare they try to steal their supplies — they're truly tired of living!

Broken-Waist Wolf grinned, showing his little fang tips.

The "Blue Star Lord Rules" currently only has three main articles and doesn't yet cover the ownership of supplies hidden in public hunting zones, so Xia Qing couldn't use legal weapons to stop Broken-Waist Wolf. She could only try to minimize her losses. "Brother Duan, tell me — are you faster, or is a trained bird faster?"

Broken-Waist Wolf, who wasn't as fast as a bird, immediately shut his mouth tight and stared solemnly at Xia Qing on the screen.

Xia Qing proposed a deal. "I know Brother Duan needs points too. How about this — I won't call in the trained bird. The supplies my prey hid at Mountain Fifty-One, you go look for them. Once you find that batch of supplies, I'll give you two-tenths."

Seeing Xin Yu's trained bird sent out today was an eagle owl — fast in flight, but its sense of smell and brain evolution aren't as good as Broken-Waist Wolf's. And Broken-Waist Wolf has already memorized Sniper Two's scent, so this fellow will definitely find the hidden supplies before the eagle owl.

Under these circumstances, if Xia Qing wanted to get the supplies as soon as possible, the best choice was to cooperate with Broken-Waist Wolf.

Broken-Waist Wolf on screen extended a big paw with splayed toes — he wanted five-tenths!

Xia Qing refused decisively. "No. Two-tenths max. Otherwise I'll call the trained bird right now and not give you a single tenth. I'll give you three seconds to think — one, two…"

Broken-Waist Wolf grinned, showing his little fang tips.

Xia Qing's voice softened too. "Good, then it's decided. Once you find the supplies, I'll give you two-tenths. If you spot other intruders within Mountain Fifty-One's territory, Brother Duan, be very careful. If you can take them, fight; if you can't, send me the coordinates and wait until I get there."
