Chapter 196: Unexpected Guest

Hot Recommendation:

Allen Finis slowly woke up.

Blinding sunlight filtered through the gaps in the curtains, scattering across the floor.

He covered his eyes with his hand, thinking about who he was, where he was, and what he was doing...

The reason he had to think about these things was that he had recently modified his own perception of time to test a Niffler's nose, causing his current sense of time to be quite confused.

Allen raised his head and looked around.

This was a bedroom in a simple style, containing only some basic furniture; the walls were merely covered with wallpaper featuring antique patterns, and there was also a narrow single bed.

Allen then remembered that he had returned to Ollivanders in Diagon Alley; he had slept too late yesterday, and now his brain was a bit offline.

Then he began his routine check of his body, only to discover that today's random transformation was kangaroo legs; he tried hopping, and ended up crashing into the wall opposite the bed...

He helplessly climbed up from the ground, rubbing the sore spot; although he already had three years of experience with random transformations, he was still occasionally rendered somewhat at a loss by strange animal body parts.

Fortunately, he quickly adapted to the feeling of hopping on kangaroo legs; kangaroo legs moved much faster than normal walking.

He slowly put on his clothes, then rushed to the window and abruptly pulled open the curtains.

The intense light made Allen squint his eyes; only then did he realize the sun outside was already blazing.

However, he was not too anxious; the work pace at the wand shop was very slow, and it was not yet time to start work.

His gaze fell again on the desk by the window, where various books and parchment sheets lay in disarray; many of these books were second-hand copies he had recently picked up at Flourish and Blotts.

Although he currently had assets of several hundred Jin Jin Jialong, he still understood the principle of not flaunting wealth; most importantly, he still had a debt of over 9,000 Jin Jin Jialong; if the Ministry of Magic discovered that he had suddenly become extravagant with his spending, his secret stash would not be safe, so he still maintained a hardworking and simple lifestyle.

His gaze finally settled on a newspaper, which featured a photograph of the nine Weasleys standing before a Jin Zita, waving continuously.

The report read: Ministry Worker Wins Big Prize; Arthur Weasley, Head of the Misuse of Muggle Artifacts Office, received the Daily Prophet's Annual Jin Jin Jialong Award.

Although he had already seen it several times yesterday, he still couldn't resist reading it again; he was truly happy for the Weasley family; he couldn't think of anyone who deserved such a large sum of money more than the Weasleys; this family was very good, but very poor.

At the same time, he pondered whether he should also subscribe to a copy of the Daily Prophet to lower the odds of winning next year's annual prize.

Subscribing to a newspaper shouldn't attract the Ministry of Magic's attention, right!

He drove this thought out of his mind, walked out of his room, and immediately saw the door to the carving room tightly closed, with a "Do Not Disturb" sign hanging on it.

It seemed Mr. Ollivander had already entered work mode; he truly loved the craft of wand-making! Allen sighed inwardly.

Then he hopped over to the Leaky Cauldron to buy some food; he first filled his stomach, then took the food back in a lunchbox.

The wizards along the way were long accustomed to Allen's strange appearance; only some Muggle families newly entering the magical world kept stretching their necks to observe him.

Back in the shop, he placed the lunchbox on the dining table; Mr. Ollivander would come to enjoy this food after finishing his work.

Then he checked the shop's cleanliness once more; finding no problems, he hung a "Open for Business" sign on the door; at that moment, the clock hands in the shop happened to point to 10 o'clock.

Having finished all this, Allen leaned over the counter, appearing as if he were dozing off; in reality, he skillfully entered the thought chamber inside the diary.

The annual peak sales period for the shop had just passed, and now there were very few customers, so no one would come to disturb him.

He had not been lying down for long when the shop door was pushed open.

"Why start sleeping in broad daylight?" a familiar voice sounded beside Allen's ear.

Allen withdrew from the thought chamber somewhat awkwardly.

"Welcome, please..." Allen finally got a clear look at the visitor's appearance, and he suddenly froze.

"Ron, why are you here?" He hopped over the counter and, using the momentum, punched Ron on the shoulder.

The visitor was indeed Ron; not seen for over a month, he seemed to have grown a bit taller, and his skin tone appeared to have been tanned darker.

Ron grimaced from Allen's punch. "I came to Diagon Alley to handle some matters," he said, rubbing the spot where Allen had punched him.

"Did you come by yourself? By the way, I saw the report about your family; the Annual Prize! That's really cool!" Allen said excitedly.

This topic immediately tickled Ron's fancy. "My family all came too; they are shopping for other things."

"Egypt is amazing. Bill took us to all the Jin Zita; you have no idea how many spells ancient Egyptian wizards cast on these Jin Zita. Mum wouldn't let Bill go into the last Jin Zita. There were many strange-looking skeletons there, left by Muggles who forcibly entered the Jin Zita. They grew extra heads and other things. I really can't believe my dad actually won the Daily Prophet's lottery! There are seven hundred Jin Jin Jialong! Most of this money was spent on this trip," Ron rambled on.

"My skin was tanned in Egypt; the sun there is truly poisonous!" Ron said, still lingering on the topic.

Allen was now truly a bit envious; the purchasing power of seven hundred Jin Jin Jialong was indeed very high.

After a round of pleasantries, the topic finally turned back.

"I am still at work now, so I probably can't accompany you out for a stroll," Allen said apologetically; Mr. Ollivander was still working inside, so he could not go out at this time.

"It's fine; I came to Diagon Alley just to buy a new wand," Ron said, taking out his money bag and shaking it; a crisp sound immediately came from inside; judging by the crispness of the sound, it should be filled entirely with Jin Jin Jialong.

Last year, he and Harry took the train to Hogwarts; the train crashed into the Whomping Willow in the school's Forbidden Forest, and his wand broke there.

Allen did not expect his first customer of the day to be Ron; however, since he had come, he was a guest, so he quickly followed the fixed procedure to help Ron select a wand.

Finally, Ron chose a wand fourteen inches long, made of willow, with a unicorn hair core.

Ron waved the new wand, making it whoosh; he was very satisfied with the new wand.

This was Ron's first time purchasing a wand, so the discount for his first wand purchase still applied; he cheerfully paid seven Jin Jin Jialong to Allen.

Allen suddenly thought of something; he said hesitantly, "Ron, where is that broken wand of yours?"
