Chapter 207: Animagus
"Let me first tell you the matter I need to inform you about; it is very brief," Professor McGonagall said, adjusting her glasses.
"Your part-time work at Hagrid's this term has been temporarily suspended. You should understand the reason. It is not safe for you to leave the castle on Friday nights to go to Hagrid's, so the school has made this decision," Professor McGonagall said after taking a sip of tea.
"Very well, I will follow the school's decision," Allen said steadily.
Allen had realized this when Professor Dumbledore spoke in the Great Hall earlier.
The appearance of Dementors would greatly restrict his range of activity. Although he had now found a way to deal with Dementors, he could not fight a Dementor every time he went out. Setting aside whether he could win, doing so would alert many people.
However, he had no need to leave the castle now. Previously, leaving the castle was mainly to hunt Acromantulas, but the Jin Jin Jialong in his hands were still enough to spend. There was no immediate need for large expenditures. Even if he needed a lot of money, he still had magical materials produced by the Basilisk to sell.
Moreover, the Acromantula clan had suffered great losses and now needed time to recover and rest.
As for the Basilisk's food problem, the Basilisk had already had a full meal before. Even if it went hungry for a year now, it would not be a major issue.
Therefore, this point had little impact on Allen.
"Now let's talk about your talent for transformation! Why did you transform twice? And I heard from students that when you boarded the train, only your legs transformed, but after getting off, a unicorn horn appeared on your head?" Professor McGonagall said, looking at the horn on his head.
Allen spoke out the reason he had prepared long ago, unhurriedly.
The office fell silent at once.
Both Professor McGonagall and Professor Dumbledore fell into deep thought.
"Your speculation is that a group of Dementors made you feel your life was threatened, and then a unicorn horn transformed on your head?" Professor Dumbledore was the first to come to his senses. His blue eyes stared at Allen behind his half-moon spectacles.
"Yes, that is the only explanation I can think of. That horn just suddenly appeared on my head. I had no idea what was happening," Allen continued to play dumb very seriously.
"That does make sense. At their age, magical outbursts happen easily. Perhaps Mr. Finis's transformation this time was just another form of magical outburst," Professor McGonagall also voiced her opinion.
Allen breathed a sigh of relief in his heart; things were going more smoothly than he had imagined.
Professor Dumbledore nodded gently. "This possibility is very high. Perhaps this incident was just an accident, but it has given us a warning sign."
Professor Dumbledore stood up and slowly paced around the office.
Allen and Professor McGonagall exchanged a glance; neither understood what Professor Dumbledore meant.
"Professor McGonagall and I noticed your amazing talent long ago. At that time, you were in a deep coma. We have watched you grow step by step to where you are today," Professor Dumbledore said, his face showing a look of recollection.
"After you enrolled at Hogwarts, you showed wisdom and maturity that amazed us. You have always known what you want; this is very rare."
"From your initial fear of this talent, to accepting it, to summarizing the rules, mastering the power within it, to later being able to stably transform parts of magical creatures, and finally to today, when you simultaneously transformed two parts, Professor McGonagall and I have seen it all."
"And all this growth happened in just over two years. Do you not feel your growth rate is a bit too fast?" Professor Dumbledore stopped in his tracks at this point and scrutinized Allen.
Allen did not know how to answer for a moment. He took a sip of tea to calm his mood.
"I don't know. After all, I have no reference point," Allen said, stroking his chin.
"Yes, but your growth rate has already exceeded the estimates of Professor McGonagall and me.
Before you enrolled, a plan was formulated to help you grow."
"But your growth rate means many things in that plan must be revised," Professor Dumbledore said quickly.
Professor McGonagall also nodded silently beside him, her brows tightly furrowed.
Allen looked at the two of them with a blank face; he did not know there was such a plan.
"Do you remember why you originally wanted to enroll at Hogwarts?" Professor Dumbledore spoke up.
Allen also furrowed his brows. "To find a way to control your talent for transformation?" he said uncertainly.
"Yes! The power of your talent for transformation is growing stronger, yet you have not yet found a way to fully control it. Especially today, under strong emotions, you spontaneously transformed parts of a magical creature. This, to some extent, overturns our previous speculations about your talent," Professor Dumbledore said gently.
Seeing Professor Dumbledore's speculations going further and further astray, Allen felt somewhat like crying but had no tears. However, he still decided to wait and see.
"So some of our plans need to be advanced," Professor Dumbledore said, looking at Professor McGonagall.
Professor McGonagall also looked at Professor Dumbledore with some confusion.
"Don't you have a Transfiguration Club? You hold an activity once every Friday night. Since Mr. Finis is free on Friday nights, let him join your club," Professor Dumbledore reminded.
Professor McGonagall pressed her lips together. "The members of my club are all! And do you really want Mr. Finis to contact knowledge in that area so soon?"
"Although Mr. Finis is only a third-year student, do you think his Transfiguration spell level is also only at the third-year level?" Professor Dumbledore countered.
"Mr. Finis has extremely high talent in Transfiguration. His Transfiguration spell level is higher than that of many seventh-year graduates," Professor McGonagall praised Allen, which was rare.
Allen found he could not get a word in.
"So Mr. Finis is qualified to join your club. Moreover, given his talent and personality, contacting that knowledge will not cause too many problems," Professor Dumbledore said with a smile.
Professor McGonagall nodded hesitantly.
Allen, meanwhile, was left with a blank face by their conversation.
"What are you talking about? What club? What kind of knowledge?" Allen finally could not hold back.
"Do you remember the plan I proposed earlier to control your talent for transformation?" Professor McGonagall suddenly looked straight at Allen.
