Chapter 53: Yan Yu: Xixi is the best, Luo Xixi: 6

【Huh???】

Upon hearing the Baby System's speculation, Luo Xixi was shocked: 【The second male lead might also have a system? No way? Just how many people in this world have systems? Do you systems all appear in clusters?】

The Baby System explained to Luo Xixi: 【In principle, a world can have at most two systems. This world is quite special because the book title is "After Binding the Heartthrob System, I Became the Group's Pet," so we all know the female lead must have a Heartthrob System. Excluding the system inherent to the story, I count as the first system. But looking at the second male lead's behavior now, it is very likely that he also has a system and is carrying out tasks. If the second male lead has a system, then many of his unreasonable behaviors can be explained, because he is also breaking character and intends to change the original plot.】

【So that's how it is?】

Luo Xixi was lost in thought, her gaze once again turning toward the direction of Yan Yu.

If Yan Yu also had a system and was someone performing tasks, then he wouldn't be like an NPC in a story, forced to break character for the sake of the plot. If that were truly the case, would there be hope to change the final outcome of the Cannon Fodder villain?

Sensing the wavering in Luo Xixi's heart, the Baby System immediately incited her: 【Host, even if you guess that the other party might have a system, hosts cannot reveal that they have a system to one another, nor can they reveal the content of each other's tasks. However, we can infer from the second male lead's behavior that his tasks should be diametrically opposed to the female lead's, which is why he is always deviating from the plot. In this way, the second male lead is a target we can win over!】

……A person who can be won over?

Luo Xixi's heart suddenly skipped two beats.

In this story, those who offend the female lead are usually dealt with first by the male lead, who ruins their reputation, and then the second male lead strikes from the shadows, delivering the fatal blow. If the second male lead could be won over, then at least everyone's death ending could be avoided.

Luo Xixi originally didn't want to do any tasks; after all, the female lead's halo was so dazzling and the other party's system was so powerful that even if she worked hard, it would be in vain in the end, so it was better to just slack off from the start.

As long as one doesn't invest emotions beforehand, then no matter what the final result is, one can accept it calmly.

But now that she had seen a glimmer of hope, a voice couldn't help but emerge in Luo Xixi's heart: How about, give it a try? What if?

Her state of mind was different from Luo Xixi's.

Luo Shiqing was extremely confused at this moment.

【System, what exactly is going on? Why does the second male lead want to steal my spotlight? According to the plot, shouldn't I be the one shining brightly? What is he trying to pull?!】

The Heartthrob System had the same speculation as the Baby System and said: 【Host, I believe the second male lead might also have a system!】

【What did you say? The second male lead also has a system? What kind of system is his?!】

Luo Shiqing was surprised.

The Heartthrob System replied: 【I don't know that. When Headquarters distributes tasks to systems, it does not let systems know each other's tasks.】

【Then how did you know Luo Xixi had a system? And that it was a newly born Newborn System?】

【This……】

The Heartthrob System fell silent.

In principle, it shouldn't have known that Luo Xixi had a system, but its team leader had specifically violated regulations to inform it that the other party had a system, and even informed it of the content of the other party's system tasks.

Because this was a violation, it was not convenient for the Heartthrob System to tell Luo Shiqing.

It could only speak vaguely: 【Although the rules state one cannot investigate, one can guess whether the other party has a system based on behavior that doesn't fit their character. As the system with the number one performance, I also judged it through experience.】

Luo Shiqing did not doubt the Heartthrob System's words and hurriedly said: 【Then hurry up and guess whether Yan Yu has a system, what level his system is, and what his task is!】

Faced with Luo Shiqing's three consecutive questions, the Heartthrob System was helpless and said: 【Host, please calm down. Deliberately investigating whether the second male lead has a system also violates the rules. Let's just wait and see for now; it is more prudent to analyze his motives through his behavior.】

【Then how long will that take to analyze?】

Luo Shiqing was anxious.

The Heartthrob System soothed her: 【Please trust my professional ability; I will give you an answer as soon as possible, Host.】

【Fine.】

Luo Shiqing knew that worrying for nothing was useless. She secretly glanced in Yan Yu's direction again, never having expected that the second male lead might actually have a system.

But so what?

She was the female lead of this world, and the entire world was born revolving around her. Regardless of whether the second male lead had a system, as long as the plot dictated that the second male lead would be infatuated with her, then even if he had independent consciousness, she would definitely take this man down!

If passive attraction wasn't enough, then she would take the initiative!

She, who could even take down the male lead, did not believe the second male lead wouldn't be conquered by her charm!

"The boys come with me to pick coconuts, and the girls go find some firewood; don't let the fire go out."

Yan Yu had become the backbone of the group, assigning tasks to everyone.

"Okay!"

The group had no objections at all and agreed quite readily.

Just at this moment.

Luo Shiqing suddenly raised her hand and said softly, "Um, can I go with the boys to pick coconuts?"

As soon as these words were spoken, everyone's gaze fell squarely on Luo Shiqing.

"Shiqing, you……?"

Luo Xinian did not understand Luo Shiqing's actions.

Suna's eyes immediately scraped across Luo Shiqing like knives: This bitch! She wants to deliberately cling to Yan Yu again, right?

Luo Xixi and the Baby System silently ate their melons: 【Geez, is the female lead going to take the initiative? This doesn't really fit her "white lotus" persona of having no desires, does it?】

The Baby System analyzed: 【I guess the plot isn't going very smoothly, so the female lead's behavior has become aggressive? She wants to interact with the second male lead quickly. Host, you need to hurry up too!】

【Hurry up with what? (⊙_⊙?)】

Luo Xixi was confused.

【Ah?】 The Baby System was surprised, 【Host, didn't I tell you? The second male lead might also have a system! If that's the case, you should of course actively interact with the second male lead!】

But Luo Xixi had other thoughts, 【It's too conspicuous to actively interact with the second male lead now, and I can't be sure he really has a system, so I don't plan to make contact with him.】

【Then what is your plan, Host……?】

【Didn't you want me to earn Starlight Value? Then I'll just honestly build up my public favorability on the show. That should work, right?】

【Hmm…… that works too……】

Seeing that Luo Xixi at least had some initiative, the Baby System naturally wouldn't force her anymore and said: 【Host, then let's do it your way! \(≧▽≦)/】

【Alright! (⊙v⊙)】

"Shiqing, you want to pick coconuts with us? That's a bit dangerous; are you sure you want to come along?"

A guest asked to confirm.

Luo Shiqing nodded heavily and said, "I think I can handle this job, Teacher Yan. Can you let me participate?"

As she spoke, Luo Shiqing looked at Yan Yu with a pitiful, heart-tugging gaze.

In fact.

Because Luo Shiqing had the charm buff from the Heartthrob System, people in this story found it very difficult to refuse her requests, yet Yan Yu glanced at her unmoved and said indifferently, "Miss Luo looks quite frail; you had better go gather firewood with the other girls."

"Teacher Yan, you are judging a book by its cover."

Luo Shiqing blinked at Yan Yu, tilted her head, and said playfully, "I only look frail, but I might just give you a surprise."

Facing such a lively and playful beauty, Yan Yu kept a straight face and said coldly, "Then, Miss Luo, can you pick a coconut to prove your ability?"

Luo Shiqing lifted her chin confidently: "Of course..."

But before her words had even faded, the Heartthrob System immediately warned: 【Host, although I can grant you skill buffs, I cannot grant you skills that do not fit your persona. Climbing a tree to pick a coconut does not fit your persona, please be aware!】

After hearing the Heartthrob System's words, Luo Shiqing nearly fell apart.

【Why didn't you say so earlier?!】

The Heartthrob System was also speechless, 【I didn't know you would act so suddenly! Please consult with me before taking action!】

【Then what do I do now??】

Just as Luo Shiqing was at a loss, Yan Yu's gaze fell upon Luo Xixi, and he said, "I don't mean to look down on girls, but I believe it is important to act according to one's ability. For example, Xixi, I think it would be a waste of her talents to have her gather firewood. Since she can catch snakes with her bare hands, surely picking a coconut won't be difficult for her, right, Xixi?"

As soon as these words were spoken.

Everyone's eyes fell upon Luo Xixi in unison.

Suddenly being cued, Luo Xixi looked left and right. Seeing the varied expressions of everyone, she looked back at Yan Yu, thinking: #@#￥%&@#……

Damn it! This guy is trying to kill her with kindness!

What a vicious intention!

Luo Xixi made a preliminary assessment and concluded, 【Tong'er, I know what the second male lead's mission is.】

【Host, you know? (⊙o⊙)】

The Baby System was surprised.

【Mm.】

Luo Xixi was absolutely certain and said decisively, 【This dog of a villain just wants to get me killed!】

【Ah... (=°Д°=)】

【Phew, that was close. It's a good thing I was rational and didn't plan to cooperate with this dog of a villain immediately, otherwise, I don't know how badly he would have scammed me!】

Luo Xixi said with lingering fear.

The Baby System was speechless: 【Um, Host, you really... (￢_￢)】

The second male lead is clearly trying to help the Host increase her Starlight Value, why does the silly Host think he wants to harm her?

Her emotional intelligence is just too low...
