Chapter 1287: You Are Not My Descendants

~6 min read 1,159 words

Adjusting time? Everyone was stunned into silence, their minds unable to grasp the magnitude of what they were witnessing. They could understand a God of Time pausing time, reversing history, or peering into the future, but adjusting time on such a massive scale? Was that even possible?

However, after watching for a while, aside from the flickering light, nothing else changed. They soon grew confused: "Why is there no change?"

Just as they were puzzled, little Wulanuo, who had been held in his mother's arms, quietly pried open her hands and lunged toward Yenaifa.

The moment he left his mother's embrace, Ang's turning hand paused, becoming slightly heavier, and the flickering light slowed down.

Ang turned his head toward the source of this change, and everyone followed his gaze. They saw Wulanuo, who had lunged into the air, moving in an incredibly slow arc toward Yenaifa. Yet, while in mid-air, he was shrinking at a speed visible to the naked eye...

No, he wasn't shrinking; he was regressing. His body grew smaller, his scales became tender, his dragon grime faded, and he rapidly reverted into a hatchling, finally regressing into a dragon egg that slammed heavily onto the ground.

By the time the egg—now Wulanuo—touched the "ground" (which, in this case, was Ang's palm, as everyone was being held by Ang in his complete Third-Stage Dragon God form), the sensation of heaviness ceased, and the light returned to normal.

"Time reversal..." Urusman murmured. This scene was too shocking; a mischievous little dragon had regressed into an egg right before their eyes.

Because it was so shocking, even Yenaifa and Gelili didn't react for a long moment, until they finally shrieked: "Son! Son, what happened to you? What happened?"

"Mom, it's so strange. Why did I turn back into an egg?" Wulanuo's voice came from inside the shell.

Urusman whispered, "Did only his body regress? But his memory remained?"

Everyone gathered around the egg to check, finding that aside from reverting to an egg, Wulanuo had no other injuries.

"What do we do now?" Gelili asked in a panic.

"What else can we do? We have to wait for him to hatch naturally. That's what you get for being so reckless," Yenaifa said irritably.

Gelili glanced at Ang, not daring to say anything, and asked, "Will he get egg-bound again?"

"Probably not. He's already hatched once; he didn't get stuck last time," Yenaifa replied.

Negris couldn't help but interject, "You get egg-bound too? It seems that's a common ailment for dragons. Even the Dragon God couldn't solve it after entering the Boundless Great Void. But it's not necessarily a bad thing. Since your child retains his memory, you can give him more training before he hatches this time. He'll be even stronger when he comes out."

Dragons have a long incubation period. Negris didn't know how long it was for these primitive dragons, but his own had been five hundred years.

During the final two or three hundred years, the hatchling inside is conscious and can talk to its parents. Parents often use this time for prenatal education, teaching them to guide elemental energy to promote development.

However, hatchlings rarely have the focus to cultivate; usually, they just get roasted by their parents—for instance, fire-element Red Dragons would occasionally breathe fire on the egg to increase the hatchling's affinity for fire, though they occasionally made mistakes and cooked the egg.

This period is critical, determining the hatchling's innate advantages. Hatchlings that cultivate often emerge stronger than their peers.

Gelili's eyes lit up. She had always felt her child wasn't as strong as the neighbor's; perhaps this wasn't such a bad thing after all.

Gelili retreated to the side with the egg. Yenaifa wanted to approach but feared infecting his wife with the Gray Scale Rot, so he turned back to Anthony and the others.

Anthony was chatting with Urusman: "If this kind of time adjustment doesn't involve changes to matter, does it not consume much energy?"

Urusman said, "It's very likely. The Lord has been very relaxed; it only slowed down when that little dragon lunged out."

"But why is there no change at all?" Negris asked.

"This place probably hasn't been visited in millions of years. It's likely that after the Dragon God left, no one has ever come here again," Anthony said.

Negris realized, "That's true. This is the Dragon God's Divine Domain; no one else could enter."

"Not necessarily. Others should be able to enter. The Dragon God removed the restrictions on the domain; they just couldn't find the way in," Anthony said.

"That's true. Yenaifa even mentioned records of the Space-Time Compass on stone tablets. If no one had ever entered, those tablets couldn't have been left behind," Lu Se added.

"Not necessarily. Even if no one had entered, the Dragon God could have used a bloodline resonance to tell all dragons about the Space-Time Compass," Negris said.

Just as they were chatting, a yellow spike suddenly pierced the void before them. Its appearance was like a stick jammed into a gear, instantly locking the gears of time.

Ang's turning hand stopped instantly; he had to exert immense force just to make it turn again, incredibly slowly. Compared to his previous ease, Ang was now using all the strength he usually reserved for farming just to keep it moving.

The yellow spike continued to extend with Ang's movement until scales appeared, and everyone realized it was actually a tail.

The tail squeezed in, followed by the hind legs, waist, wings, chest, and back. A dragon identical to Ang's current Third-Stage form entered the space in reverse, backing up until it stood before Ang.

Until that moment, its eyes had been fixed forward, but then they shifted, landing on Ang. A look of confusion crossed its face. At this point, the two Gods of Time from different eras finally met at a single point in space-time.

In that instant, Ang's hand could no longer turn. No matter how hard he tried, time and space seemed to freeze.

The primitive Dragon God also froze in place. Only its eyes could move. It scanned Ang for a long moment before speaking telepathically: "Did I fail? How many years in the future are you from?"

Ang tilted his head: "You, what did you do? Eight million years."

"What did I do? Did your bloodline not inherit even this? What happened? Eight million years? Such a distant future? Where are you from?" the Dragon God asked, perplexed.

Ang thought about it in frustration, but finally gave up and held Anthony and the others out in front.

"Dragon God, the situation is like this..." Anthony began to explain, but was interrupted by the Dragon God.

"What do you call me? Dragon God? You are not my descendants? Who are you?" ===== CHAPTER 1288 =====
