Chapter 89: Earth Immortal Dao; Jing Yao Shang Zun
“Fu Xi, this guy really knows how to play his cards well!”
Beneath the Qilin Sacred Cliff, in a corner.
One of the many unknown geniuses of the Qilin Clan, Zi Yun Chuyin (Xiang Xuanqing’s small account), now had to admit Fu Xi’s remarkable initiative.
Watching Fu Xi passionately delivering his speech, Xiang Xuanqing thought: “How quickly he’s already put the merit system on the agenda.”
“Is he bringing up ‘Creation’ alone to divert attention toward Nv Wa’s opening-the-heavens plan?”
Xiang Xuanqing pondered: “Is he inciting the Qilin Clan to open the Gate of Creation to test the Dao—or to draw fire away from Nv Wa’s opening?”
If the Qilin Clan throws itself into this grand scheme, it will certainly draw everyone’s attention—and the primordial gods and demons who might otherwise go harass Nv Wa could well diminish significantly.
“But why do I feel it’s not this simple? To uphold heaven and earth, to create heaven and earth—is this truly for the sustainable development of all realms? Too proper.”
Xiang Xuanqing thought the plan was excellent and grand, but utterly incompatible with the Taiwei Yuan.
“Create heaven and earth, create heaven and earth… wait? Nv Wa is opening heaven and earth, Fu Xi is urging the Qilin to create heaven and earth—why do I feel he’s tricking the Qilin Clan into helping Nv Wa?!”
Xiang Xuanqing suddenly realized: Nv Wa’s opening of heaven would require at least the creation of a great Qian Universe—a brand-new world.
If the Qilin Clan decides to assist Nv Wa and collaborate with her, it could be highly profitable.
“And maybe, just maybe, we can trick a giant Qilin into transforming into a celestial pillar, claiming it’s part of ‘upholding heaven and earth, creating heaven and earth!’”
The more Xiang Xuanqing thought about it, the more plausible it seemed.
Knowing the man called Fu Xi, if he had no ulterior motive, he wouldn’t be cultivating the Dao of Heavenly Mechanisms—he’d switch careers to charity.
Then Xiang Xuanqing recalled that Fu Xi had just outlined his plan in three major parts.
“Merit is mine, Creation is his—could this ‘building of Immortal Grottoes and Blessed Lands’ be Zhen Yuanzi’s doing?”
Sure enough, the instant Xiang Xuanqing thought of Zhen Yuanzi, the Wuji Divine Lord atop the Qilin Sacred Cliff spoke again.
“To ensure the sustainable development of our Qilin Clan across all realms, and to better practice the concept of Creation, we must implement a new method—the construction of Immortal Grottoes and Blessed Lands.”
“For this, please welcome the Divine Lord of Longevity to explain.”
After a round of applause, the Divine Lord of Longevity (Zhen Yuanzi) stepped forward and began expounding his Earth Immortal path—no, now it should be called the ‘Earth and Wood Dao’!
“Building Immortal Grottoes and Blessed Lands is, in fact, a true path I have deduced. We shall call it the ‘Earth and Wood Dao.’”
“This Dao embodies the unity of Heaven and Humanity, a path of virtue cultivated in harmony with the world!”
“Let me explain the details in full.”
Xiang Xuanqing sat on the Qilin Sacred Cliff, listening intently.
Zhen Yuanzi’s Earth and Wood Dao concept had been mentioned before in the Taiwei Yuan.
It was then that Xiang Xuanqing confirmed the man was Zhen Yuanzi.
After all, such a properly serious Earth and Wood elder was unmatched in the Honghuang.
Zhen Yuanzi’s Earth and Wood Dao relies on Immortal Grottoes and Blessed Lands: cultivators must find a spiritual vein, initially evolve a small Qian Blessed Land, and through sustained cultivation, transform it into a great Qian Immortal Grotto—only then can they cultivate in harmony with the world and coexist with it.
This path benefits not only oneself, but others as well.
While creating Immortal Grottoes and Blessed Lands, the entire world’s environment improves accordingly.
If a cultivator achieves the ultimate leap, when they ascend, they can even elevate the entire world along with them.
“Of course, all the above are merely the basics of Earth and Wood methods. Now I’ll share something deeper.”
The Divine Lord of Longevity (Zhen Yuanzi) said: “The Earth and Wood Dao, being a true Dao, is not merely about transforming the world and cultivating in harmony with it.”
“To be confined within a single realm is not a true Dao—this path is one of transcendence!”
“Starting from a small grotto or blessed land of dozens of zhang, step by step, steadily advancing, transform your grotto and blessed land into a small Qian world, a great Qian world, until it evolves into a great Qian Universe, a dimensional plane, a multiverse!”
“At this point, the cultivator makes the ultimate leap, standing above time and space, achieving transcendence and attaining the Great Luo fruit position!”
At these words, the entire assembly erupted.
Every Qilin, big and small, was stunned.
Holy shit, are we Qilin Clan really this powerful?
In just a meeting, they’re handing out a transcendence path to Great Luo?!
Although the Divine Lord of Longevity (Zhen Yuanzi) hadn’t directly transmitted any methods yet, merely describing the prospects of the Earth and Wood Dao had already set everyone’s blood boiling.
Is this even real?
It’s more than real!
Seeing everyone so excited, Xiang Xuanqing decided to douse them with cold water.
So he pulled his little companion and raised their hand together.
“Divine Lord, we have a question!”
A clear, youthful voice rang out, drawing the attention of the Thirty-Six Sovereigns.
They saw in the corner a bright young boy holding his companion’s hand, both raised high.
His nearby little Qilin seemed to have just woken up, blinking sleepily, utterly bewildered.
“What’s your question?” The Divine Lord of Longevity smiled warmly.
“I’d like to ask—has anyone achieved transcendence through this Earth and Wood Dao?” Xiang Xuanqing asked loudly.
“Well….”
The Divine Lord of Longevity (Zhen Yuanzi) smiled awkwardly: “Not yet.”
If I’d already transcended, would I be here trying to promote it among the Qilin Clan?
“Oh, so it’s just a theoretical Dao. We understand.”
From the Divine Lord of Longevity’s perspective, the bright young boy’s eyes dimmed after hearing the answer, his entire demeanor losing all color.
He pulled his companion back down to their seat, clearly deeply disappointed.
This stirred a faint pang of guilt in the Divine Lord of Longevity (Zhen Yuanzi); he felt he’d just been exaggerating, perhaps misleading these naive little Qilin.
“Wait, why am I feeling guilty? A theoretical Dao is still a Dao! Why is this kid so picky?”
Regaining his composure, the Divine Lord of Longevity stared at the two little Qilin in the corner, sensing something odd—but couldn’t quite place it.
Beneath the Qilin Sacred Cliff, the various Qilin had finally calmed down, no longer as fervent as before.
So it’s just a theory to be tested—we thought we already had an Earth and Wood Great Luo among us.
“Alright, does anyone else have questions?”
The Wuji Divine Lord (Fu Xi) continued.
Gradually, small groups began raising questions.
He and Zhen Yuanzi answered them one by one.
After a while, Fu Xi said: “The methods of Creation and the Earth and Wood Dao will be transmitted to you all after this assembly.”
“Now, I’ll continue explaining the merit system…” ~~~~
Chaos, Biyou Heaven.
After a series of roars, Jing Yao Shang Zun felt utterly defeated.
“Friend Li Er, are… are you alright?” Master Yuchen asked tentatively.
“Do I look alright?”
Jing Yao trembled violently, huddled in a corner beside the Sword Pool, eyes vacant, unfocused.
“This… this… who came up with this idiotic idea?!”
“This…” Master Yuchen hesitated, glancing subtly at Xiang Xuanqing.
“I knew it was you!”
Jing Yao gritted his teeth, leapt up from beside the Sword Pool, and snatched up the purple-gold furnace lying on the ground.
“Li Yuan, today I must crush you!”
Purple qi surged, furnace flames roared—Jing Yao charged straight at Xiang Xuanqing.
“Friend, you must reason with me!”
Xiang Xuanqing dodged aside, hastily explaining: “Though the idea was mine, the array was arranged by Friend Li Ming!”
“He’s equally responsible!”
“What?” Jing Yao Shang Zun froze in place.
He turned around, eyes locked on Master Yuchen, incredulous: “You arranged this array?”
Master Yuchen’s gaze darted away, avoiding eye contact.
“Well… actually… I… fine, I arranged it.”
Upon hearing this, Jing Yao Shang Zun felt the heavens had collapsed.
He lamented bitterly: “It’s over, truly over—Li Yuan, this irreverent one, has led another proper god astray!”
“Li Ming, why on earth did you believe him?!”
Jing Yao Shang Zun gazed at Master Yuchen with deep regret, as if watching a ‘fallen youth.’
This left Master Yuchen flustered; he stammered: “I just thought Li Yuan’s idea had some merit, so I gave it a try.”
“I didn’t expect you to walk right into it.”
“In short, it was an accident—purely an accident.”
“Besides, I didn’t preserve any temporal fragments to leave you with a dark history.”
“What?!”
Jing Yao widened his eyes: “You preserved temporal fragments?!”
Master Yuchen shook his head: “I didn’t.”
“You didn’t—then who did?!”
Jing Yao Shang Zun glared fiercely at the trio from the Underworld.
Xiang Xuanqing looked up at the sky, Ming He looked down at the ground, and Meng Wuyou blinked her eyes.
The trio spoke in unison: “Friend, you must believe us.”
“I believe your ghosts!”
Jing Yao Shangzun flew into a rage, raised the Eight Trigrams Purple Gold Furnace, and instantly enveloped Ming He.
Vast purple qi reversed and drew Ming He inside.
“Today, I’m refining a batch of Blood Spirit Pills!”
“Don’t anyone stop me.”
Jing Yao Shangzun flew into Biyou Palace and slammed the palace gate shut with a bang.
Yuchen, Xiang Xuanqing, and Wuyou were left outside.
The three exchanged glances.
“Cough, cough—friend, this is your home. Show us around,” Xiang Xuanqing suggested.
“Fine!”
Yuchen Daojun nodded.
Meng Wuyou hesitated: “Is Ming He really going to be okay?”
“Don’t worry, little Shi!”
Xiang Xuanqing reassured him: “Ming He has entered the Eight Trigrams Purple Gold Furnace before—he’s very experienced.”
“Besides, Jing Yao is saving him.”
“Really?” Meng Wuyou glanced back at the hall.
No sooner had Xiang Xuanqing finished speaking than a pig-like scream erupted from within.
“Great God Pangu, Jing Yao, you’re trying to burn me alive!”
“Six Ding and Six Jia divine fire? Are you refining a weapon?!”
“You’re using official power to settle personal grudges! Official power to settle personal grudges!”
“If you keep this up, I’ll post your dark history across the River of Time for everyone to see!”
Jing Yao Shangzun sneered: “Fine, then let’s hurt each other.”
“Come on, scream louder!”
“I’ve saved it all for you.”
Soon, Ming He’s pleas for mercy echoed from within Biyou Palace.
“Big brother, I was wrong—this is your dark history. I’m returning it.”
“Oh? The God of Killing is begging?”
“So what if he’s the God of Killing? Haven’t you ever seen a God of Killing who can bend, bend, and bend?”
